When the short children's film The Snowman was released in 1982 we were instantly captivated by the epic-sounding music that accompanied young James and his new snowy friend as they soared through the moonlit sky.  A YouTube link provided in case you are not familiar with it. For years I have longed to play this vocal/orchestral music on the piano, so I decided to try and capture the magic and scope of it for pianists to enjoy for themsleves or perform as a concert piece for audiences.  Some fingering and pedaling suggestions have been written in for your experiementation.  I have loved every minute of my time with this music!  I hope you will too.

I was really saddened by his passing recently, so I decided to pay tribute to him by creating this simple piano solo arrangement. I thought this arrangement is good for Beginner students who are learning to play piano solo arrangements using the Two-Part System, i.e., melody on the right hand and chords on the left hand. To complete this piece, students are expected to have learned already some fundamental theory lessons on transpositions and key signatures. Good luck and enjoy your learning and playing.

Subtitled 'blues', but it feels less like that than the other Kästner song I recently uploaded. The german title means The chant of the prodigal son and portraits the situation of a sad woman waiting wistfully to meet her beloved son. I did not find an official english translation for the song lyrics, so I added my idea of it (I am NO English native speaker). Feel free to rectify what sounds rough, feedback will be highly appreciated!

Bergentrückung is an arrangement of ASGORE from Toby Fox's most known and popular game UNDERTALE, an RPG with a large amount of his original music, art, and story.  ASGORE is both the name of the song, and the character it is associated with. Asgore is the king of the monsters who were sealed within Mt Ebott, and is working towards freeing the monsters and rejoining the humans on the surface.  Although the meaning of Bergentrückung is still not fully known, there is some evidence showing it means Mountain King, King in the Mountain, or King of the Mountain, however consulting with some german speakers it was proven that is not the full meaning. Bergen means mountain in German, however in my research, trückung did not hold a meaning or translation. I did however find a page saying there is German Folklore about a king slumbering in a mountain, however there was no citation nor proof. Google translate will tell you it means Excavate, but my reasearch of asking German speaking people proved that to be wrong.  To the UNDERTALE community Bergentrückung will always mean King of the Mountain, but there is no current real meaning in my reasearch.This arrangement was made for two reasons. The first reason being I wanted a solo for an upcoming Solo Ensemble, however the second reason is there are very few songs I could find made for a Bass soloist, so I wanted to add a possible Bass Solo for future soloists looking for music. This can also be played as a Cello Solo.
