Alto Voice,Bass Voice,Cello,Piano Accompaniment,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1318802 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christmas,Holiday. 122 pages. Connie Boss #907356. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318802). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star.  The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where     Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see.  This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an ST duet with SATB choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie Boss.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261426 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary. Score. 54 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #854502. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1261426). I first came upon Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem translated into Italian by Roberto Ascoli in a chamber work by Ottorino Respighi entitled Il Tramonto. I was so taken by this work for mezzo-soprano and string quartet that I did my own version of the Shelley-Ascoli text for soprano and piano, also called Il Tramonto. In the meanwhile, I found at an antique bookstore online a first edition copy of Poesie di P. B. Shelley (Milano Fratelli Treves, Editori, 1905) with more translations into Italian by Roberto Ascoli. The Italian versions are so much more beautiful than the English that I was compelled to create another song cycle of some of these poems in Italian for soprano and piano. I. Canto II. Versi III. Canto Funebre IV. Su Una Violetta Morta V. Filosofia Dell'Amore VI. A .... VII. A Jane VIII. Frammento.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1355318 By Jvke. By Jake Lawson and Zachary Lawson. Arranged by Fernando Ramos. 21st Century,Classical,Pop,R & B. Score. 8 pages. Fernando Ramos #940036. Published by Fernando Ramos (A0.1355318). Other Arrangements Available: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/category/arrangeme/426/fernando-ramos/?isPLP=1I make piano solo arrangements for my students of songs that they love! My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music and, most importantly, that it also makes pianistic sense. Each of my arrangements is made for a specific student, so the results will vary in terms of playing level. Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece. This arrangement was made for a late intermediate / early advanced student currently working on Federation class Moderately Difficult 1. It was not easy for him, but he persisted and saw it through, giving an outstanding performance at a recital. I wanted this to be a challenge, but I also wanted to use it as an opportunity for voicing. That is why you will find many notes that are double-stemmed throughout this arrangement. My hope was to give him a little taste of Liszt's Liebestraum No. 3 since I really want him to play that next. But we really enjoyed this arrangement! It's a great piece on its own. I don't give any pedaling suggestions in the score, but these should be chosen carefully so that it doesn't get too muddy.

She was 91 and had been poorly with many different illnesses for the previous 6 months, so we knew it was coming. But the timing and unfathomable sadness of her death, together with the start of a worldwide pandemic, little did I know it at the time, was to bring forth from me a tsunami of music the likes of which I hadn’t written for many years. A set of six solo studies for various members of the clarinet family came first, written between March 20th and April 20th. As I wrote them they were orchestrating themselves in my head and forming something else as well. That “something else†grew and grew, as the Six Studies intertwined themselves around each other and expanded together, joining forces with two brand new themes to form what soon was to become an immense orchestral work. The title was easy. Glastry is a tiny district in the middle of the Co.Down countryside of Northern Ireland, where my Mum was born and brought up. And Pearl was her name. Her full name was actually Margaret Mary Ward (eventually to become Denny when she married my Dad, Colum Denny, from Belfast), but everyone always called her Pearl. The nickname was bestowed upon her just after she was born on February 28th 1929 and stuck ever since. The Glastry Pearl is a tribute to my Mum and the great and mighty person she was to me and all who knew her. It employs at least one theme or motif from each of the Six Studies For Various Solo Clarinets and uses them throughout the work in the from of Leitmotifs. It was only when the work was nearing completion that I began to wonder how to describe it. Freddy Naftel, a good composer friend of mine, suggested that Tone Poem was a fitting description and I immediately agreed. The music itself is completely tonal and highly Romantic, yet also peppered with exciting contemporary disonance. I believe it to be a good, and hopefully fun, challenge to symphony orchestras, both professional and high standard amateur alike. It offers everything from the the somber opening to the hilarious and wildly energetic central Waltz, to the glorious soaring final section, so plenty of variety to please many palates.

Large Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553793 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Holiday,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 41 pages. RayThompsonMusic #4614887. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553793). Originally written for string orchestra, I have arranged it for wind dectet ( double wind dectet) and double bass.I have transposed it into Bb from A to aid the players.Dvořák is said to have written this Serenade in just 12 days, from 3–14 May. The piece was premiered in Prague on 10 December 1876 by Adolf Čech and the combined orchestras of the Czech and German theatres.Rather than simply transcribing the parts, I have tried to imagine how Dvorak would have written it for wind ensemble, so have spread the string parts around, rather than always giving violin 1 to the flute/oboes.I have added horn sustaining notes in some places.I have also tried to give the wind player somewhere to breath, so restricted the tutti passages.Hope it becomes a useful companion piece to his Serenade for Wind Op.44.I have arranged other movements on this site. Please check them outCheck my arrangements for wind dectet of some movements from Legends Op.59

An original hymn with text by Kathryn Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/mhGcdfOKW0s I am one of the ninety and nine; I did not go to the desert to pine; I followed the Master, and stayed in the pasture, When He went out the lost sheep to find.   The Good Shepherd gently calls my name, Though I’m not one of wealth or fame, Just common stock, just one of the flock, One of the faithful who steadfast remained.   There’s no celebration for me coming ‘round, Like the black sheep who with diligence was found; I’ve been loyal and true, valiantly obedient to My Master’s teachings profound.   Still the Shepherd says You are mine, In a voice so gentle and kind, So loyal I’ll be for all eternity, One of the faithful nine and nine.

Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1167220). As a composer, I feel I always need to be working on something. Even if it's not for a commission, I like to work on my skills, on my composing craft, on keeping the creative ideas flowing. So occasionally I set myself assignments of a sort, which is how this song cycle Spectrum came to me. I set myself the task of interpreting the colours of the rainbow pride flag. Because I am so gay. The cycle is not actually LGBTQIA+ themed in its subject matter as such, the flag was jut a kind of framework for my creativity. In the intervening years since the cycle was first conceived, the LGBTQIA+ community has embraced a new flag, the Progress Pride Flag, which will give me a few more colours to interpret and add to the original cycle. This song Red was inspired by an animated video of red blood cells coursing down an artery.

Giving a lighthearted, but emotionally rich, treatment, this secular piece for chorus will make an effective addition to any poetry and music program.I shot an arrow into the air,It fell to earth, I knew not where; For, so swiftly it flew, the sightCould not follow it in its flight.I breathed a song into the air,It fell to earth, I knew not where; For who has sight so keen and strong,That it can follow the flight of song?Long, long afterward, in an oakI found the arrow, still unbroke; And the song, from beginning to end,I found again in the heart of a friend.

Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1099392). Do you want to build a rocket? was originally composed for a wonderful group of children I worked with at the Young Music Society Winter School in Canberra. The first day that I went in to meet them, I sat down with them on the floor and asked them what kind of performance they wanted to build. It was around the time that the Disney animated feature Frozen was very popular with kids. Or not, as it turns out, because one little boy’s hand shot up straight away and he said: “Tell you what I don’t wanna build: a stupid snowman!†He suggested we build a rocket instead. So that’s what we did. It’s a song about the wonder and curiosity we feel about the universe, of our desire to explore it, and of the determination and grit required to achieve that dream. It’s some very hard yards to build a rocket and to learn to fly it, but our dreams are always worth the work! I hope you have fun with this song. Teachers, I invite you to get as theatrical as you dare with it. In our original performance we had all these toy instruments, toy toolkits, and painted cardboard boxes. (So many boxes!). Let’s just say, if you think it’s gonna be ‘too much’, it’s probably exactly the right amount. Sally Whitwell August 2022.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1168489 Composed by Stephen Foster. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Country,Folk,Instructional,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Chords/Lyrics. 1 pages. Brian Streckfus #768792. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1168489). If you are looking for a historically accurate version, I would just get Hal Leonard's publications of it. This version really sprinkles some razzle dazzle on an otherwise straightforward public domain song in G major, though it does not use the exact  original melody.1. The original melody is NOT intact, this is ghostwritten. Notes were flatted to give a bluesier sound.  2. The chords are very modern, despite this song being written in the mid 1850s. 3. Grace notes added 4. Background harmonies now have more thought put into part writing, originality, being idiomatic on guitar, and making the melody the forefront. 5. Left hand fingerings added to aid in sight-reading.6. Letter names added to note heads to aid in sight-reading.7. I like versions like this because it could be used for a guitarist who doesn't sing, a guitarist who does sing, or a guitarist in a band. In otherwords, the more band members, the more you are just focusing on background chords, the more you are a one-person band, the more you have to take everything in. Tips:1. I arranged this so that students could see how blues scales work as I drenched this song in more blues than it originally had (Bb - B...F - F#...E minor blues and G major blues respectively.) You'll notice I don't stay on these dissonant blues notes for very long, that's why there's so many grace notes in this song.2. The D9 in measure 6 was originally a D7. Some extensions like this don't really change the scale in use.3. The Ab7 in measure 7 was originally a D7, making the Ab7 a tritone substitution. If you know the key of G major well, that chord should stick out like a sore thumb. 4. The Bb7 in measure 14 was originally a G7. I call these kind of substituitions mediant substitutions as they are similiar to jazz tritone substitions, but at a 3rd instead of a tritone.5. The Cm(maj7) was originally a C major chord. This is a modal borrowing composition technique of borrowing from the parrallel minor, in this case, G minor.
