Oboe,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549359 Composed by Bach-Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Contemporary,Easter,Wedding. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3490099. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549359). This arrangement follows the original Bach prelude and so excludes the extra measure that Schwencke introduced in 1783. If you prefer the extra measure, please see Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria, Schwencke version for Oboe & Piano - S0.661853. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance with minimal page turns for the accompanist. The duration with repeat is about 4:50. Score: 6 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival               Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1269846 By Keane. By Richard Hughes, Tim Rice-Oxley, and Tom Chaplin. Arranged by Henry Newbury. Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter,Wedding. Score. 3 pages. Mr Henry Newbury #862322. Published by Mr Henry Newbury (A0.1269846). This was transcribed by ear so almost certainly is not the same as the original score, however check out the mp3 and hopefully you'll feel it provides a good point for anyone wanting to learn the song's piano accompaniment. Something worth noting is that the original studio recording actually has several recorded piano parts recorded on top of each other in various places - the very beginning being a good example - spanning a couple of octaves, so if you're after that really full sound from the original recording you'll need to record a couple of similar parts spanning different areas of the piano for either live playback or for your recordings 😊Thanks and I hope that helps!Henry.

Silent Night (Stille Nacht) CHRISTMAS, PIANO and VOICE.Silent Night is one of those songs that are part of a repertoire universal. For this and so many other reasons, she was a mandatory presence in the Christmas repertoire. This arrangement was created in a jazz waltz style. Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797745 By ABBA. By Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop. Score and parts. 26 pages. Derek Hasted #4592161. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797745). MAMMA MIA (Abba) - GUITAR QUARTET/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This piece is in the same key as the original and, although suitable for ensembles from early intermediate upwards, it still has all the sections of the original and plenty of drive and power. Less experienced players will find everything is in the first three positions on the neck, but there is no fingering because more experienced players will want to take the music further up the neck for a more compelling sound. Please add your own fingering and dynamics and make this *your* performance!Guitar 4 is supplied in treble and bass clefs to suit classical, acoustic or bass guitars. In a large ensemble it will be even better to have some players on each version of Guitar 4.The piece has a lot of syncopation, but this arrangement is written so that in most places there is either a metronomic beat from the bass, or several sections have the same syncopation, so that it locks together well. This will work well in a school concert, and as a contrast or encore in an adult ensemble concert too.I hope you enjoy this piece!

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797863 Composed by Nino Rota. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Derek Hasted #6850815. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797863). SPEAK SOFTLY LOVE - GUITAR DUETFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This haunting piece suits a guitar duet so well. My arrangement can be played as a performance piece, or with a small adjustment, as a student/teacher duet.My arrangement has two verses, and these are orchestrated differently - one in an arpeggio style and one in a countermelody style. You can mix and match the arrangements as you wish and it’s easy to add extra verses too. The tune is fairly low in pitch so that the tone is warm and mellow, but it needs to project over the accompaniment which straddles it in pitch. If you play the arrangement as written, each player gets a verse on the tune and a verse playing the accompaniment - perfect for performance. If you are a teacher, then your student can play just the page containing the tune, and you can accompany them - indeed, if you take their second page, you can play two different accompaniments while they play two verses of the tune...I hope you enjoy this piece!

The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.
