Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Soprano Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1109600 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #711970. Published by David McKeown (A0.1109600). The most popular of Scott Joplin’s piano rags during his lifetime, The Maple Leaf Rag was published in 1899. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track on Joshua Rifkin’s famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films. This duet version for one Soprano Saxophone and one Clarinet includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only. The YouTube link is a full performance of the Clarinet version of this arrangement. Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around four minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation.  There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.546075 Composed by Isabelle Wakkinen. Arranged by arr. by John Fries. 20th Century,Country,Jazz,Pop,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. John Fries #156183. Published by John Fries (A0.546075). Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns.  You can also type John Fries in the searchbar to see all I have to offer.  The song has been a crossover hit, charting in both the country and western and pop categories. Always On My Mind did not see completion until late 1971. Songwriter-guitarist Wayne Carson had about two verses done, with the working title You Were Always On My Mind. He had been occupied in Memphis on a project that required him to stay ten days longer, and he phoned his wife in Springfield, Missouri, to apologize for the delay. She was angry, and he replied: Well, I know I’ve been gone a lot, but I’ve been thinking about you all the time. His words struck him as potential song material, and he quickly ended the call so he could capture the idea on paper.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1430702 Composed by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 64 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #1011201. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1430702). This brass choir arrangement set for an orchestral brass section of Coleridge-Taylor's Sea Drift captures the subtle textures of the composer’s chromatic harmonies inspired in his original vocal octet setting of a poem by T. B. Aldrich. Born of an African father, Coleridge-Taylor was an early 20th century English composer and conductor who was an influential advocate for Black composers. One of Coleridge-Taylor's rare A Cappella compositions for vocal SATB double choir here arranged for large brass ensemble, Sea Drift is infused with descriptive tone-color painting highlighting the tragic story of the merchant sailor who perishes in a stormy sea to the despair of his lover onshore. The arrangement is scored for an orchestral brass section of three B-flat trumpets with alternate C trumpet parts, four horns , three trombones and tuba. The recording is of the entire edition.“The Music of Black Composers Series is a welcome and timely addition to the brass repertoire. Interesting music, expertly arranged, fun to perform, and well received by audiences. Highly recommended!”   Wesley Nance, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastman School of Music“I was so pleased to see the great works arranged for brass ensemble by Charles Decker Music Press especially the Music of Black Composers’ Series. It was especially rewarding to perform several of these with Summit Brass and with the students attending the Rafael Mendez Brass institute. Please keep these wonderful settings coming. String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025084 Composed by Shawn Roney. Arranged by Phyllis Hopper. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 8 pages. Gregory Shawn Roney #5740109. Published by Gregory Shawn Roney (A0.1025084). For a Synagogue In Pittsburgh, In C Minor will touch your heart.Dedicated to the victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue tragedy of 2018, this mood piece is best suited for Jewish religious events; however, because it is an instrumental, it also is effective as a prelude piece for Christian liturgical services. A piano solo version of this was performed Oct. 27, 2019, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, by the music collective Sacred & Secular before the start of the service. One congregation member, who also is a member of Sacred & Secular, was moved to tears. In terms of technical proficiency, For a Synagogue In Pittsburgh is an excellent fit for intermediate students/players and would fit best in recitals and/or concerts that include two or three other introspective-sounding pieces. More famous examples would include Debussy's Clair de Lune and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.Plans are underway to expand this ensemble arrangement (string quartet, offered with score and parts) to include an SATB vocal arrangement and make it available on Mo-Mutt Music's Sheet Music Plus page.

Published by Sacred Vessel Recordings (ASCAP) (A0.1097948). Jasper County is a 6 page advanced intermediate level piece in the key of D major. It is from my album 'The Open Road', a collection of 14 of my solo piano compositions. My hometown of Joplin, Missouri is located within two counties in that state, Jasper and Newton. Though I was born in a hospital in Newton County, Jasper County is the one that borders Galena, Kansas, the town in which I spent the first five years of my life. This is a musical whimsy about this place. Other pieces available in this collection are: Bittersweet, Doc Bradley’s Waltz, Edith, Flight of Fancy, Late October, Lullaby, Marble In My Pocket, The Open Road, Prairie Sunset, Skipping Rocks at Shoal Creek, The Storm’s Promise, Sunflowers, and Wheat.

Brass Band Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1171832 Composed by William Grant Still. Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Blues,Contest,Festival,Jazz,Multicultural,World. 56 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #772105. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1171832). From the Music of Black Composers Series is this arrangement of the third movement Humor from William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony for a brass choir of 4 B-flat trumpets, 4 horns in F, 3 trombones, euphonium and tuba. Still's Afro-American Symphony was one of the most significant classical orchestra compositions of the early 1930s to incorporate African-American folk influences. Premiered by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at conductor Howard Hanson's notable American Music Festival, it brought the flavor of the Blues and folk music to the symphony. For Still the Blues was a distinct African-American musical contribution he incorporated into a symphonic work. As part of the early 20th Century Harlem Renaissance in New York City, the work was enthusiastically received across the USA and overseas. This brass choir arrangement of the third movement will enliven concerts with its colorful rhythms reminiscent of Gershwin and blues harmonies. Beyond brass ensemble programs feature your band or orchestra brass section on this exciting arrangement which can be paired with the additional first movement (Longing) of Still's Afro-American Symphony arranged for similar brass choir with Charles Decker Music Press.“The Music of Black Composers Series is a welcome and timely addition to the brass repertoire. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1488156). This folk song recounts the legend of a fur trader who wants to marry the daughter of American Indian Chief Shenandoah. Versions of the song became sea shanties sung by sailors travelling the Missouri River and on to various parts of the world. The melody itself has the roll and surge and freedom of a tall ship sweeping along the sea. The song is about longing for something that's lost or out-of-reach.  This String Duo arrangement voices the song 5 times and involves 2 key changes. The violin sings the melody 3 times, and the cello twice.
