Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.532821 Composed by Jules Demersseman. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Christian,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred. 24 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #38027. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.532821). Jules Demersseman was born on January 9, 1833 in Hondschoote, a small town in the north of France now near the border of Belgium. He entered the Paris Conservatory in 1844 in the class of Jean-Louis Tulou and won a first prize in flute in 1845. Demersseman had a career as a pedogogue and soloist, often performing his own compositions. A close friend of Adolphe Sax, he wrote some of the first works ever written for the saxophone, as well as for the saxhorn and for Sax‘s valved trombone, most of which were published by Sax himself.. Demersseman died in Paris on December 1, 1866 at the age of 33. Two versions of this work were published by the Adolphe Sax puublishing company: a version for voice and organ and a version for voice with Alto Saxophone, Sax Valved Trombone and Bass Saxhorn, an interesting combination which is perhaps not as easy to find as it was in Sax's showroom, where the piece was likely performed to show the qualities of Sax's instruments. These versions are also published by Musik Fabrik in seperate editions. This current version was arranged using the first edition of the trio version as its source, and the saxophone and voice parts remain essentially as in the original, with some editorial dynamic changes. The version may be performed in three possible ways: either as a piece for SATB Saxophone Quartet, as a work with Voice and ATB Trio, or as a work with Voice and SATB saxophone quartet, with the Soprano saxophone doubling the voice. A voical part (in C) is included with the set.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808659 Composed by Joseph E. Howard and Ida Emerson. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Pop,Traditional. Score and parts. 23 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #2070943. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808659). Prerecorded wax cylinders were first marketed in 1889. Ten years later, when this Howard and Emerson tune was published, those cylinders were referred to as records, and Arthur Collins made the first recording of Hello! Ma Baby. The lyrics tell the tale of a guy who has a girlfriend he knows only through the telephone. This was one of the first songs to deal with the telephone (that medium, too, being still pretty new). The chorus was kicked back into the spotlight in 1955 when a certain movie frog sang and danced his way across a Warner Brothers cartoon background. The current version used the 1899 sheet music as its source, but is a completely original arrangement that enhances the ragtime feel of the music. This is an infectious piece that is fun to play and a toe-tapper for the audience. Completed in 2016, this arrangement’s performance time runs about 3 minutes, 20 seconds. Contact the arranger, Les Smith, at lessmith@ufl.edu. If you like this novelty number, be sure to check out Sweetwater's Funeral March of a Marionette, Goodbye! So Long! I'm Headin' Home! Flute Duet Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1182138 By Helene Schulthess. By Helene Schulthess. Arranged by Helene Schulthess. Chamber,Contest,Festival,Folk,Patriotic,Traditional. Score. 5 pages. Helene Schulthess #781903. Published by Helene Schulthess (A0.1182138). You can purchase all 26 folkdances for 30 $ under this link: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/26-swiss-folk-dances-for-2-flutes-and-accompaniment-digital-sheet-music/21673528The document contents 26 folk dances for two flutes (49 pages) and a score (52 pages)Swiss folk music is very lively. Its diversity reflects the small regional and cultural spaces of Switzerland. Influences from other European countries have also shaped this kind of music since the early 19th century. Polka and Mazurka have their roots in Poland, the Scottish in Scotland. The music has been passed on by word of mouth or has been written down in musicians’ notebooks.Between 1940 and 1960, the ethnomusicologist Hanny Christen travelled through Switzerland and collected thousands of melodies from the period between 1800 and 1960. The musicians played or sang in front of her. Some permitted her to write off their own hand-written dance booklets in full. In 1956, Hanny Christen began to record this music with a tape recorder. It is thanks to her that over 12,000 instrumental dance movements of Switzerland and many other pieces of tradition (costumes, biographies, musical instruments etc.) were saved from being forgotten. The instruments used in traditional folk music vary depending on the type of dance and region. Flutes are more or less non-existent. The author would like to fill a gap with this publication. She has therefore adapted one folk dance per canton from the Hanny Christen-collection* for two flutes. The pieces from the cantons of Basel City, Thurgau and Geneva do not come from this source, though. The melodies from the other 23 cantons are taken unchanged from the collection. The second voice was not always composed quite traditional. The melody follows - if possible - a contrapuntal melody of its own and is directed to the flute (difficulty grade 3 +).The editor, Helene Schulthess, is a flutist with a wide repertoire. She lives in Switzerland. She performs as a soloist, makes chamber music and is active as a music teacher. She is involved in various musical projects (www.helene-schulthess.ch).* Swiss Folk Music Collection. The dance music of Switzerland of the 19th and first half of the 20th century. From the estate of Hanny Christen. Edited by Fabian Müller under the auspices of the Society for Folk Music in Switzerland (GVS/SMPS). Music print. Mülirad, Zürich 2002.
