Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1211732 Composed by Pascual Marquina Narro. Arranged by Pablo Guerrero-Martín. Classical,Contest,Festival,Folk,March,Multicultural,World. Score and Parts. 51 pages. Pablo Guerrero-Martín #809346. Published by Pablo Guerrero-Martín (A0.1211732). España cañí (meaning Gypsy Spain in Spanish) is a famous instrumental Spanish piece of pasodoble music by Pascual Marquina Narro (1873–1948). The song was written around 1923 and first recorded in 1926. Its main refrain (eight bars of arpeggiated chords that go from E major to F major (with added 4 instead of 5) to G major and back) is arguably the best known snippet of Spanish music and is popular worldwide.Several arrangements of the tune are often used for the Latin Paso Doble dance (to the point that, among Latin dancers, it is known as the paso doble song as it is very commonly played in competition due to the common custom for the choreography to match the phrasing and accents of the music for the full effect of the dance). The song has also been used as the theme song for Pablo Sanchez in the Backyard Sports games.

Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086647 By The Tijuana Brass Featuring Herb Alpert. By Sol Lake. Arranged by Chris Gorman. Pop. Brass Band. 28 pages. Chris Gorman #690853. Published by Chris Gorman (A0.1086647). The Lonely Bull (El Toro Solitario) is a song by Sol Lake recorded by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass among others. The song was the title track to the album The Lonely Bull, released in December 1962. El Solo Toro is given on the album as the Spanish translation of The Lonely Bull, but the words el solo toro directly translate as 'the bull lonely' or the only bull. The translator evidently was not aware that in Spanish the adjective solo should have come after the noun toro. Solo means alone, rather than lonely; the proper translation of lonely is solitario. In English, the adjective lonely precedes the noun bull. In Spanish, the noun toro (the bull) comes before the adjective, solitario. Thus, the correct translation of The Lonely Bull is El Toro Solitario, as noted above.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1304437 Composed by Pauline Viardot. Arranged by Ted R. Marcus. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period. 19 pages. Ted R. Marcus #893928. Published by Ted R. Marcus (A0.1304437). Pauline Garcia Viardot's Sérénade is a piquant Spanish dance imbued with Flamenco rhythms and Andalusian cadences. Although she was a French composer, singer, and teacher born in Paris, Viardot's Spanish heritage lends the piece a special authenticity. Sérénade was originally conceived as a virtuosic showpiece for piano. This version for an advanced woodwind quintet retains just enough bravura to make it exciting for players and audiences. But above all, it's a hauntingly melodic and colorful souvenir of a time when French composers and their audiences were infatuated with all things Spanish. Duration: approx. 3:00Please visit my Web site to explore more classics for adventurous woodwind quintets.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1441944 Composed by Anon. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 7 pages. Keith Terrett #1021937. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1441944). Romance Anonimo for Guitar. This beautiful piece, known as Romance d'Amour, Anonymous Romance, Spanish Romance, Romance de Amor, Romanza among other names are a very well know piece. The composer is unknown.Romance Anónimo (Anonymous Romance) is a piece for guitar, also known as Estudio en Mi de Rubira (Study in E by Rubira), Spanish Romance, Romance de España, Romance de Amor, Romance of the Guitar, Romanza and Romance d'Amour among other names. It is composed in the style of parlour music of the late 19th century in Spain or South America,History:The style of the piece is that of the parlour music of the late 19th century in Spain or South America. It has a closed three-part form, the first in the minor key and the second being in the major key, with the third part being a restatement of the first. The origins and authorship of the piece are unknown, hence 'anonimo'. It is thought to have been originally a solo instrumental guitar work from the 19th century, and has variously been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Francisco Vicaria l Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gómez, and Narciso Yepes. It has been suggested that doubts about its authorship may have been encouraged by a wish to avoid paying copyright fees and the desire of publishing companies to claim the lucrative copyright.Early recordings:The earliest recording of Romance is found on a cylinder from the Viuda de Aramburo label[3][4][5][6] featuring guitarists Luis and Simon Ramírez, which was made in Madrid sometime between 1897 and 1901. The work is titled Sort-Estudio para Guitarra por S. Ramirez. The name Sort, as it occurs on the cylinder's title, probably refers to Fernando Sor, as his surname is sometimes spelled Sort or Sorts. The recording may be heard on the Doremi CD release Tarrega, His Disciples, and Their Students (DHR-7996) and online at the UCSB Cylinder Audio Archive.Possible origins:An early publication of the work, known as Estudio para Guitarra de Rovira and attributed to Spanish guitarist Antonio Rubira,[13] was published by J.A. Medina e Hijo in Argentina before 1925 (probably in 1913, when the publisher ceased activities).Guitarist and composer Isaías Sávio (Montevideo, 1900 — São Paulo, 1977) published the work in 1959 with the title Romance de Amor (Estudo em Mi) Música de Antonio Rovira (Segunda metade do século XIX) He published information which cited Antonio Rubira as the author. (See Violào e Mestres Junio, 1966 / São Paulo, Brasil.Sávio gives information that Juan Pargas, who knew Rubira, gave the Estudio de Rovira to the guitarist Juan Valles in 1876 or 1878. Sávio mentions that the work became popular in Buenos Aires and began to be published by, among others, Spaniard Pedro Maza; and that the work appeared in the method of Pedro Mascaró y Reissig, published in Montevideo in 1919, with the title Conocido por Estudio de Rovira.Publishing company Ricordi of Argentina currently publishes the piece, and attributes authorship to Antonio Rubira.
