I have always loved Scarborough Fair. I needed to do something a little different than the Simon and Garfunkel version which is very iconic. I also wanted to use the melody for a Christmas song. I thought about how close We Three Kings was in places and decided it was a great song to do a combo with. This version is for ST duet with an SATB choir - ahs only, violin quartet and piano. I have this in all kind of version including a women's version and SATB as well. I have version of just duet and piano and then with choir or with strings as well. Parts are included with this purchase. I hope you enjoy the mysterious sounding music. I just felt it was needed on this arrangement.

Als Camino de Santiago, dem Jakobsweg, werden die verschiedenen Pilgerweg zur vermuteten Grabstätte des Apostels Jakobus dem Älteren im spanischen Santiago de Compostela bezeichnet. Die Pilgerwege - heute europäische Kulturstrassen - sind seit dem Mittelalter bekannt und im Liber Sancti Jacobi, einer Handschriften des 12. Jh. beschrieben. Die vorliegende kleine Kantate betrachtet den Pilger auf dem Jakobsweg aus heutiger Sicht, greift aber auch auf die Geschichte des Pilgerweges zurück; die verbindenden Texte wechseln sich mit den Chorsätzen ab. Die Chorsätze sind - mit Ausnahme des abschliessenden Vox nostra resonet, der nach Belieben auch fortgelassen werden kann - in deutscher Sprache.
