One of his most popular singles, 50 Ways was released in December 1975 and began to see chart success within the new year. However, it mentions only two ways to leave your lover! It became Simon's sole number-one hit as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. Following Simon's divorce from first wife Peggy Harper, Simon opted to take a more humorous approach to document the event and recorded the song in a small New York City studio on Broadway. Billboard called it an excellent song that has very clever lyrics and an easy to listen to melody.

This Guy's in Love with You is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and recorded by Herb Alpert. Although known primarily for his trumpet playing as the leader of the Tijuana Brass, Alpert sang lead vocals on this solo recording, arranged by Bacharach. The recording originated when Alpert, while visiting at Bacharach's office, asked, Say, Burt, do you happen to have any old compositions lying around that you and Hal never recorded; maybe one I might be able to use? Alpert decided that the song should be released as a single recording, and it reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart in June of that year, remaining in the top position for four weeks.

Thanks, John.  You Are Not Alone is a song by the American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson from his ninth studio album, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I (1995).  An R&B ballad, You Are Not Alone was written by American singer R. Kelly for Jackson in response to difficult times in his own personal life.  Kelly sent a demo tape to Jackson, who liked the song and decided to produce it with him in his Chicago studio.  Jackson's interest in the song was also linked to events in his personal life.  The music video, which featured Jackson and his then-wife Lisa Marie Presley, featured scenes of semi-nudity.  You Are Not Alone received generally positive reviews and was the recipient of Grammy and American Music Award nominations.  It holds a Guinness World Record as the first song to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified platinum by the RIAA.  It also topped the charts in Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns.  You can also type John Fries in the searchbar to see all I have to offer.  This song was the fifth and final single from the album A Song for You by the Carpenters. It was originally only an album track; 2 years passed before it was released as a single. During 1973-74, the Carpenters found themselves with a busy touring schedule, which kept them from working on new material. As a result, they had no album issued for the year. They decided to choose this song for single release. It works well as a piano solo. If you have need for a special arrangement or wish to see what I have available email me at jfries@ptd.net.
