The fourth of my piano sonatas (dedicated to Stephen Sondheim). The first movement has a rhapsodic slow blues introduction which leads into a faster section. This movement is followed by a slow Blues movement, a Valse and then an  Allegro fuoco finale with contrasting sections. The mp3 plays back the whole sonata.

My Requiem is for SATB, Soprano and Tenor Soli with Organ and Piano accompaniment and is suitable for choirs of a reasonably high standard. As well as the words of the Requiem Mass there are settings of poems by Ivor Gurney, Walt Whitman and Gerard Manley Hopkins. New words have been written by the author Jonathan Miles. The mp3 plays back the opening introit with sampled organ and voices. Duration of the whole work is 38 minutes. Information about permission to perform the Requiem can be found in the Vocal Score. My first piano sonata is in three movements: 1. Capriccio, 2. Adagio, 3. Theme and Variations. The first movement begins with a slow introduction before the vivace main theme appears which then goes through various guises. (I was inspired by Haydn's Capriccio in G). The Adagio is built on two themes before an extended Theme and Variations finale. The theme is stated and is then followed by six variations and ends with a grand Coda.
