Written in C Major around the C6/F6 chords as a modern take on Ryūk�ka; a Japanese genre of popular music from the late 1920’s to 1960’s. Composed in Notion for iPad using jazz saxophone samples & techniques including a fair amount atriculations such as slurs, growls and trills to achieve a vocal like performance.

The original Latin title Passio Domini nostri J.C. secundum Evangelistam Matthæum translates to The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Evangelist Matthew Originally for alto voice, violin solo and string orchestra. The arias are in da capo format (ternary form). Erbarme dich, for alto, and Mache dich, mein Herze, rein, for bass, are examples of such arias in Part Two of the oratorio. In these movements the singers are accompanied by one or a few solo instruments and continuo, occasionally completed by other instrument groups of the orchestra.This Aria was originally composed by J.S. Bach for Violin Solo, strings and alto solo was now arranged for Flute (optional recorder), oboe d'Amore and strings. The flute replaces the solo violin very well, just as the oboe d'Amore's sonority fits wonderfully well by replacing the traditional contralto solo. With the string ensemble divided up into multiple sections, the oboe is utilised as the main melody instrument throughout most of the work, which is approximately 12 minutes long. I have also added additions to each verse that is different than the original with new lyrics and music. It adds a little bit to this iconic song. I have always loved Scarborough Fair. I needed to do something a little different than the Simon and Garfunkel version which is very iconic. I also wanted to use the melody for a Christmas song. I thought about how close We Three Kings was in places and decided it was a great song to do a combo with. This version is for the ladies SATB duet - strings and piano. I have this in all kind of version including a women's version and TTBB as well. I have version of just duet and piano and then with choir or with strings as well. Parts are included with this purchase. I hope you enjoy the mysterious sounding music. I just felt it was needed on this arrangement.
