Bella Noche, for string quartet or string orchestra, is a deeply felt romantic waltz, perfect for weddings and concert programs, intermediate level and above. The rich melody is followed by a shimmering middle section in which the upper strings play off each other and the piece ends with a quietly satisfying reference to the opening. This 3 minute waltz in G major gives each part something beautiful to play and will be especially loved by your viola and cello sections. This piece is also available for piano solo, and could be performed as a strings and piano piece, or just for strings alone. Bella Noche was premiered by the Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra, Dr. Evgeniy Sporov, who conducted and provided the bowings, in Folsom, California, May 6 -7, 2017 at the Harris Center.

I have always loved Scarborough Fair. I needed to do something a little different than the Simon and Garfunkel version which is very iconic. I also wanted to use the melody for a Christmas song. I thought about how close We Three Kings was in places and decided it was a great song to do a combo with. This version is for violin duet with strings and piano. I have this in all kind of version including a women's version and SATB as well. I have version of just duet and piano and then with choir or with strings as well. Parts are included with this purchase. I hope you enjoy the mysterious sounding music. I just felt it was needed on this arrangement. 

This can be played without the piano accompaniment if desired.

Entia Imaginaria, from the Latin imaginary beings is a subject that fascinates me, especially after reading Jorge Luis Borges's Book of Imaginary Beings.

This three movements composition include:

1. Phoenix - bird that dies by fire and then is reborn from its ashes;

2. Sirena (Mermaid) - Creature part woman, part fish, whose beauty and singing lured sailors against the rocks in the sea;

3. Hippogryphus (Hippogriff) - Winged creature with the head of griffin and horse body. It symbolizes an impossible union.

This work was requested by Nuno Henriques (Bass Trombone), who I dedicate and was composed between December 2011 and February 2012.
