Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029547 Composed by Joshua Dawson. 20th Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 18 pages. Joshua Dawson #5030669. Published by Joshua Dawson (A0.1029547). This piece, written for SATB choir accompanied by piano four hands, was written as a tribute to Emily Dickinson and in an attempt to do justice to her wonderful poem, A Something in a Summer's Day, which is a prime example of Dickinson's deep, elliptical poetic style. The piano duet is unusually dominant in the piece, opening with a faint, distant single-line melody which begins to undulate and lilt once the second piano enters. The choral writing is largely homophonic, and the piece in general has some quite luscious modulations and impressionistic textures. Suitable for intermediate to advanced choirs and pianists.Duration c. 7 min.
