It's all about a pure heart which can sing by day and by night.In the first verse I've kept the traditional Welsh harmonies; then in verses 2 and 3 the harmonisation is my own. In verse 2 ATB sing the melody in unison while the sopranos sing a lovely descant line. In verse 3 the tenors have the melody with full SATB harmonies. Every line is singable.Welsh pronunciation is difficult (now there's an understatement) so underneath every line I've added the pronunciation. There are two specifically Welsh sounds: LL which is pronounced HL, and CH which is said in the back of the throat, as in the Scottish Loch.

Sylvia, originally Sylvia, ou La nymphe de Diane, is a full-length ballet in two or three acts, first choreographed by Louis Mérante to music by Léo Delibes in 1876. Sylvia is a typical classical ballet in many respects, yet it has many interesting features that make it unique. The prelude to the first act and the pizzicati in the third are the significantly more famous sections of this already notable score. The latter, the more famous, is a well-known example of pizzicato style. The words are attributed to Joseph-François Domergue, 1691-1729, the cure of Aramon.The text was published for the first time in the Recueil de Cantiques Spirituels Provençaux et François, 1749. The origin of the melody is unknown, but it seems to have been current in the C17. It was an established custom at that time to set new words to well-known tunes. Bizet found the tune in a book published in 1864, and pinched it for his L'Arlésienne, 1872.The basses (and tenors) get to sing like drums!
