Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.722639 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Randy Calistri-Yeh. Classical,Concert,Film/TV. Score and parts. 15 pages. Custom Chamber Music #6521905. Published by Custom Chamber Music (A0.722639). This is the complete first movement of Mozart's Symphony #25 in G Minor (K. 183), arranged for violin and cello. This movement was featured in the opening scene of the movie Amadeus.  This impressively full arrangement condenses an entire orchestra down to just two instruments while still remaining faithful to the original orchestration. The technical difficulty is about the same as the original symphony string parts, but capturing the full musicality will benefit from more experienced players.

French Horn Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018885 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 2 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6056099. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018885). Programme Notes: Icarus Also Flew takes its title from the first line of the poem Failing and Flying by Jack Gilbert. He is referring to the classical myth of Daedalus and Icarus, an inventive father and son who bravely escape from their imprisonment in a tower by collecting the disposed feathers of seabirds, then fashion wings out of them and fly away. While the story is often treated as a morality tale--listen to your elders, don’t get cocky like the young man, Icarus, who, in such an understandable state of elation, ascended too close to the sun thus causing the wings to melt and his tumbling to his Mediterranean death--what Jack Gilbert reminds us is how regardless of one’s failure, the sheer transcendental experience of mortal flight remains glorious and unforgettable. Icarus’s fall was not into a legacy of disdain and oblivion, but in truth, he had come to the end of his triumph. This piece was the first of a series I composed during the Covid-19 quarantine conditions of 2020, to serve as potential contemporary preludes for each of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies--his two hundred and fiftieth anniversary was this year!--though they can all stand on their own on any program. The connection, in this case, is with his celebrated fifth symphony in C minor--the Fate symphony, as it is commonly known. I’ll let the listener find their own connections.About the Composer:Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1132756 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period,Traditional. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #732954. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1132756). This adaptation was intended for a small group of woodwind quartet, where the original essence of the piece was kept, however, with a reduction in the duration, where only the main themes of the opening were extracted. As it is simplified, it is intended for beginner students of instrumental music who want to enter orchestral music, even in a simplified and reduced form, and can be used by music teachers with their students in ensemble practice in situations such as academic recitals, didactic concerts, or assessment tests. The Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, known as the Symphony of Destiny, by Ludwig van Beethoven, written between 1804 and 1808, is one of the most popular and best known compositions in the entire repertoire of European music. The four movements are characterized by orchestral homogeneity, being, at the same time, an example of alternation: the first movement, revealing great tension, denounced by the strings and raised to an extreme drama; the second movement reveals solemnity, in a funeral march that rises by its emotion and beauty; the third movement, a crispness; the fourth movement expresses triumph and magnificence.

Cello Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800215 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Samantha J Bramley - stringspirational@gmail.com. Classical,Romantic Period. Individual part. 10 pages. Samantha Bramley #6009463. Published by Samantha Bramley (A0.800215). Theme from ‘New World Symphony’ by Dvorak – 2nd Movement ‘Largo’ This is a six ‘cello version of the famous Largo theme from the second movement of Dvorak’s ‘New World Symphony.’ The duration of the arrangement is 3 and a half minutes, making it a nice encore or perfect for inclusion in a varied program. All parts are written in bass clef and none go above 4th position, making it ideal for a student ensemble. If played by a ‘cello orchestra (rather than 6 individual ‘cellists) the solo and tutti markings should be observed with dynamics varied accordingly. Keep Calm & Play Cello! Note from the arranger: All my arrangements for ‘cello quartet, quintet and sextet are conceived specifically with the range and technical capabilities of the ‘cello in mind – no simple transpositions or re-orchestrations of string quartet scores. They are therefore both easily playable and enjoyable by any intermediate to advanced ‘cello ensemble. Most parts do not go beyond 4th position, making them equally suitable for student, mixed ability groups or ‘cello choirs. A complete score and set of parts is included. Enjoy and feel free to email comments or request for other works to stringspirational@gmail.com or visit my website www.stringspirational.com to find out more.
