Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.815260 By Ateneo Chamber Singers. By Joy T. Nilo. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 10 pages. MR. JOY T. NILO #2020269. Published by MR. JOY T. NILO (A0.815260). Just like a painter who tries to catch God’s image on a canvass, the composer strives to catch it on a soundscape. He starts depicting the mystery of God in dayaw ken lawag kawesmo (you are clothed in honor and light) juxtaposed with God’s vast greatness in naindaklan ka unay (you are great) and God’s authority in pannakabalin mot’ agturay (you power rules). With strokes of faith he paints toy kararwak agdaydayaw kenka (my soul worships you). Then he begins to unravel God’s majesty in pagluganam dagiti ulep, pagsakayam ti payak ti angin (you ride on clouds and soar through the wings of the air) before portraying God’s influence over creation in langit ken daga napnuan iti gloriam (heaven and earth are full of your glory). He then struggles to create the best sound describing God by blending all these elements. Finally, he comes to the realization that God is INDESCRIBABLE and just exclaims what he has been saying all along, Annian a kinatan-okmo! (How precious You are!).

Piano (2 pieces for 2 pianos) - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q42249 34 miniatures for piano. Composed by Wilfried Hiller. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 41' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q42249. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q42249). In a film portrait of dancer, painter and sculptor Antje Tesche-Mentzen, I learned that in former times she was a proficient pianist. When she told me that she intended to begin playing again, I promised to compose her a cycle for her new beginning: 34 miniatures, some of them with a direct connection to her paintings and sculptures. The main part of Kosmos was composed in 2014, 400 years after Albrecht Dürer created his copperplate engraving ‘Melencolia I’, in which a magic square appears. In a magicsquare, numbers are arranged in a grid so that their sum in each column, row, and the two diagonals is the same number. In the square I have chosen, the magic number is 34.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1463402 By PAUL LUTHER VINES. By PAUL LUTHER VINES. Arranged by PAUL LUTHER VINES. Children,Country,Folk,Singer/Songwriter,Spiritual. Score. 2 pages. PAUL Luther VINES #1042093. Published by PAUL Luther VINES (A0.1463402). Key of G to A. This is one of my first songs I wrote in my younger days.  I had moved away from home (again) to Seattle where I rented a small apartment close to the Frye Art Museum where I could enter my paintings in their art show.  And where I could play tennis and paint.  Many of the songs I wrote are here on Arrangment.com.  I did paint and write a number of songs as I learned to play the guitar and mandolin.  I always enjoy reminiscing my early songs.  Go to: http://youtu.be/piA07Roodm4?t=34.

Flute - intermédiaire - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1553 Composed by Kevin Swierkosz-Lenart. Score. 4 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1553. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1553). Composing for solo flute is a challenge. The only way to come out victorious is to turn limitations into possibilities, to leave to the listener's imagination what the sound cannot return, to play on the strengths-and there are many-of the instrument to which the score is destined. The flute, so archaic and close to human vocality, lends itself perfectly to music that alludes to theatrical aspects. So I decided to take up the request of the talented Italian flutist Michela Podera, and compose a short piece for her, all centered on recitative-flavored etchings, sometimes whispered and sometimes declaimed in a stentorian manner. The immediate source of inspiration was a painting by the Neapolitan painter Vincenzo Laricchia, to whom I owe the poetic mood and title of this work of mine: Masquerade.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.854559 Composed by Ancient plainsong 13th century, Thomas Helmore. Arranged by Zach Sprowls. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Zaspr Media LLC #3881313. Published by Zaspr Media LLC (A0.854559). Life is a waiting game, a longing for something better. We all feel it. It's a deep down sense that we know the world will be better someday. It's a hope for redemption. For the ancient nation of Israel, this hope was the coming of the Messiah.O Come O Come Emmanuel beautifully captures both the sense of hope in a coming redemption and also the pain that exists in the waiting. This arrangement embodies both of those sentiments. The angst experienced acutely by the waiter is felt by the listener in the opening motif that builds to a kind of wail after the first chorus and concludes the arrangement with a reminder that redemption hasn't come yet. The waiting is a journey filled with painful longing, simple prayers of recalled hope, and blood-wrought perseverance.

Concert band - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CBW205 Composed by Judith Katz. Score and Parts. 65 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBW205. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW205). 9 x 12 in inches.Long before the tragic sinking of the Medusa, was the sinking of the French ship, The Medusa. The frigate Medusa was completed in 1806, launched in 1810, and saw action in the Napoleonic wars. In 1816, it set sail from French to its ultimate location in Senegal to repossess it from the British. Along with cargo, there were almost 400 people on board. What no one knew, however, was that there was an incompetent captain on board with dubious skills. The ship was caught in a storm off the coast of Mauritania. After being damaged from hitting rocks and multiple attempts to relaunch it, it couldn't move. Soon, it was discovered that there was a shortage of lifeboats. Most of the crew and some of the passengers made their way to the lifeboats, saving about 250 people. That left about 149 others on board. Crew members left on board scrambled to build a raft for the others. The raft was launched and tied to one of the lifeboats. The hope was that everyone would make it to land, almost 60 miles away. The horror came, when the captain ordered the raft to be cut loose, claiming, that it was slowing everyone else down. That left the raft survivors to their own devices.Multiple days at sea brought on starvation, death and disease. People starved to death, and acts of desperation came about, such as the weak, but alive, being thrown overboard, and even cannibalism. Many days later, when survivors were finally rescued, there were only 15 people left alive, with 5 of them dying soon afterwards. News of the disaster quickly reached France, where both the government and the people were thoroughly outraged. Newspapers covered the disaster, and eventually there were trials prosecuting the captain and the crew for negligence. This can be considered as the first documented sea disaster. In 1818, 27 year- old Theodore Gericault was so moved by this disaster, that he painted his masterpiece, The Raft of The Medusa. To this day, the painting, which is enormous in size and almost the size of the raft itself, hangs in the Louvre. This is my first attempt at program music. It was my hope that I captured the mood, the feeling, and above all, in all good program music, that my composition told the story.

Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105037 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Rock. Full Performance. Duration 239. David Kai #708281. Published by David Kai (A0.1105037). This song is a reflection on Psalm 46. Like many Psalms, it contains elements of questioning, challenge and finally, faith. It is written in a Contemporary Christian/Christian Rock style. BE STILL AND KNOW (Psalm 46) BE STILL AND KNOW Chorus: Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God You are the Word beyond all words, a holy mystery, A presence in the universe that I can’t touch or see, A force in space and time with no beginning and no end, A spark of inspiration that I cannot comprehend. In a world that’s so embraced by pain how can Your love be shown? In life that’s short and fleeting, can eternity be known? My questions have no answers for I’ve painted You too small, So I will cease my babbling and worship You in awe. Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God Our God’s a refuge and our strength, and so we will not fear, Though mountains shake and waters roar our God is always near, God makes the wars to cease and breaks the bow, the shield, the spear, Behold the works of God whose reign of peace will dry all tears. You are the glints of sunlight through the amber-dappled leaves, You are the hints of silence in the vows that lovers breathe, You are the one who awes me with the love that we receive, You are my first and dying breath, in You I will believe. Be still and know that I am God...

Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1252822 By Maria Thompson Corley. By Maria Thompson Corley. Arranged by Maria Thompson Corley. 21st Century,Sacred. Score and part. 9 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #846622. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.1252822). “Pax Aeternam†was written in memory of renowned composer Barbara York, a fellow Canadian whom I was blessed enough to meet in person through my interaction with Matt Brown. Though we connected many years into my collaborative piano career, Matt is the first tubist I ever worked with, and Barbara’s music was my favorite part of getting introduced to the tuba literature. I was thrilled to learn how much she appreciated my playing of her work.“How Beautiful†was written in memory of Matt’s son Eli, who had a congenital condition that took his life a few hours after he was born. This flawless piece of music, poignant yet never maudlin, provided the title for a recording Matt and I did of all of Barbara’s tuba output. It also threw down the gauntlet when Danny Rowland approached me, at Matt’s suggestion, about composing a piece. Danny mentioned loving “How Beautiful,†and intending to commission Barbara, who’d recently passed on. I’d never written for the tuba before, but felt absolutely no pressure. That’s a lie.Like “How Beautiful,†“Pax Aeternam†is in a major key; in my case, I wanted to evoke wistfulness rather than despair. Barbara’s path was full of suffering, and having lost a brother to prolonged illness, I’ve come to embrace the idea that death can be a sweet relief from pain. I tried to capture some of Barbara’s spirit, particularly in the middle section, and chose triple meter to give the outer sections a bit of “swing.†I don’t recall Barbara as a somber person, and I wanted to paint a portrait of someone who moved through life with a smile. I didn’t know her as well as many, but I always found her kind, generous, and unpretentious. I hope that this musical portrait does her justice.I created a cello transcription for a performance with Sara Male, my partner in Duo Chiaroscuro. This seemed appropriate, since “Still Waters Running Deep,†one of our signature pieces, is a transcription of the slow movement of Barbara’s bassoon sonata, created at our request by the composer.

Timothy Stapay #1067707. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1490922). Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) is a song by Don McLean, written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh.McLean wrote the lyrics in 1971 after reading a book about the life of Van Gogh. It was released on McLean's 1971 American Pie album; the following year, the song topped the UK Singles Chart for two weeks, and peaked at No. 12 in the United States, where it also hit No. 2 on the Easy Listening chart. Billboard ranked it as the No. 94 song for 1972.Lyrics:StarryStarry nightPaint your palette blue and greyLook out on a summer's dayWith eyes that know theDarkness in my soul.Shadows on the hillsSketch the trees and the daffodilsCatch the breeze and the winter chillsIn colors on the snowy linen land. And now I understand what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free. They would not listenThey did not know howPerhaps they'll listen now.StarryStarry nightFlaming flo'rs that brightly blazeSwirling clouds in violet haze reflect inVincent's eyes of China blue.Colors changing hueMorning fields of amber grainWeathered faces lined in painAre soothed beneath the artist'sLoving hand. And now I understand what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free.Perhaps they'll listen now.For they could not love youBut still your love was trueAnd when no hope was left in sight on that starryStarry night. You took your lifeAs lovers often do;But I could have told youVincentThis world was neverMeant for oneAs beautiful as you.StarryStarry nightPortraits hung in empty hallsFrameless heads on nameless wallsWith eyesThat watch the world and can't forget.Like the stranger that you've metThe ragged men in ragged clothesThe silver thorn of bloody roseLie crushed and brokenOn the virgin snow. And now I think I know what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free. They would not listenThey're notList'ning stillPerhaps they never will.
