Violin Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018956 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. 2 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078707. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018956). Programme Notes: This composition was written to be considered for pairing alongside Ludwig van Beethovenā€™s Symphony #3, the Eroica, but can stand on its own virtues as an intense and slow meditation on heroism. The music is like a boiling pot on the stove thatā€™s just began to overflow its bubbles.ā€ƒThe first part of the title, kommos, is a Classical Greek term from Attic dramaturgy, literally meaning striking but specifically referring to beating oneself up during lamentation--ripping at the hair, gouging out the eyes--like Oedipus--slapping the forehead, and other acts amid moments of extreme emotional turmoil. For example, from Aeschylus's play Agamemnon, a character bewails: Apollo, Apollo! God of the Ways, my destroyer! For you have destroyed me-and utterly [...]What is this fresh woe [...]what monstrous, monstrous horror, beyond love's enduring, beyond all remedy? And help stands far away! We can easily imagine physical accompaniment to the script; rather than bottling up the pain, the hero lets it all explosively come out.  ā€ƒThe second part of the title, When the world moved on, is an epigraph taken from American author Stephen Kingā€™s The Dark Tower epic. The primary setting of the novel, a world similar in many ways to our own, is experiencing a dark age where the glorious past is all but a distant memory and all good things are referred to wistfully as occurring, When the world moved on. Yet, the main protagonist, Roland, the last gunslinger, emphasizes that it is not just a figure of speech, but the literal distances between destinations have increased, the positions of the stars have changed, as well as the occurrence of other unnatural phenomena. The world has become a gulf of isolation from all corners.ā€ƒTaken together, this piece is a lamentation for when the world moved on. Truly completed on Yom Kippur during the Covid-19 Pandemic, being unable to fast or go to synagogue, this is my atonement.About the Composer:ā€ƒBenjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. String Ensemble Drum Set,Electric Bass Guitar,Piano Accompaniment - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105087 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Country,Rock. Accompaniment. Duration 221. David Kai #708333. Published by David Kai (A0.1105087). A song for those grieving the loss of a pet, especially those whose pets support them through issues such as PTSD and depression. The death of a pet is certainly one the most difficult things that pet lovers experience. Pets offer us companionship, affection and healing, but their relatively short lifespan means that we will experience this loss many times in our lives. Many of us take comfort in the idea of a rainbow bridge that our pets cross when they die, and that we too will cross to be united with our pets. This song expresses the grief that we experience with the death of a pet, but also the hope that we will be reunited with them one day. This version of the song is a backing track for a soloist. BEYOND THE RAINBOW BRIDGE by David Kai Ā©2019 The day that I first met you, I held you in the palm of my hand And from that moment onward I knew that we would be the best of friends And though you started as a Christmas gift to set beneath the tree You know you really were a gift from God to me. We walked through fields and forests, weā€™d hit the trail in sun and wind and rain When I was at my lowest, you licked my hand and raised me up again But time passed much too quickly, and you know just what you did You took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridge. Iā€™m not sure what heavenā€™s like , Iā€™m not sure how things will be But if we wonā€™t be together, it wonā€™t feel like heaven to me But if the Lord be willing, Iā€™ll hear your welcome bark again, And see you running to me, through the golden fields of grain Most faithful of companions, youā€™d been with me in sickness and in health You always loved to see me, even when I couldnā€™t really love myself And when you licked my hand that one last time, then you know just what you did You took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridge. You took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridge.

DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications #11743. Published by DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications (A0.784826). ACT ONE: Song 12. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each manā€™s choices in life. [1 Samuel 17:45 - Then said David to the Philistine: ā€˜You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name Yahweh of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted.ā€™] [1 Samuel 17:49-50 - And David put his hand in his bag, and took from there a stone, and slung it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead; and the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.] Arriving at SAULā€™S camp, he listens to the soldiers speak about the Philistine giant, GOLIATH. He has taunted the troops for forty days and demands that they select a man to come out and fight him, winner takes all. DAVID upon arriving hears the taunts and accepts the challenge killing GOLIATH with a single, well-placed stone [King of the Mountain ā€“ David and Goliath]. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge. END ACT 1.

Trumpet Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.829071 Composed by Eric Bolvin. Instructional,Jazz. Individual part. 64 pages. ERIC V BOLVIN #3579875. Published by ERIC V BOLVIN (A0.829071). The Be-Bop Range Book is a creative approach to developing range, technique and improvisational be-bop skills for trumpet.IntroductionTrumpet range and developing it is one of the most common and controversial subjects among trumpet players, teachers and authors. Without delving too far into the physical and scientific aspects of trumpet playing, allow me to paraphrase the great Yogi Berra; The upper register of the trumpet is the same as the middle and lower registers, just different. All trumpet playing is a coordination or balance of three things: air, tongue level and embouchure. It is through sensible, intelligent and consistent practice that we develop the skills necessary to play throughout the entire range of our instrument.Purpose Of This BookAlthough hitting the high note may be the quest for many trumpet players, a more useful and musical goal is developing a large playable range. This means being able to articulate and play musically and dynamically throughout the entire range of the instrument. This is accomplished through the use of Range Arcs, which are musical phrases that cover a large range. In addition to building our playable range, we are working on technique and adding to our jazz vocabulary.I originally developed the concept of Range Arcs in The Modern Jazz Trumpet Method. Many players have commented on how useful these studies are, so I decided to expand on it here. For more rudimentary range, flexibility and endurance study, seeTongue Level & Air.The Approach NoteI have found that how we approach the highest note of a musical phrase is critical to range development. This aspect of range development is presented here in a progressive, creative format.Exercises 1-5 use the Chromatic Approach. This means that the highest note of the arc is approached from a 1ā„2 step below. The exercises continue, adding a 1ā„2 step to the approach note every five exercises.Articulation & PhrasingAll exercises in this book are to be played in a swing style. However, if you are having trouble with an exercise, sometimes playing it straight may help. Jazz articulation should also be employed throughout. What does that mean exactly? Jazz trumpet articulation is as spontaneous and individual as an improvised solo. Honestly, if I have to think about it, I canā€™t do it. The best advice is to listen to the trumpet players quoted in this book and to as much jazz trumpet as you can. Transcribe and play solos while emulating their style and articulation.Immersing yourself in this will result in your own personal style of articulation. Jazz articulation on trumpet is also born out of necessity. Some slurs in a line may just not be possible so you must tongue. This will be revealed when you start some of the exercises that contain wider intervals. How To Use This BookEach exercise group consists of a Range Arc, Range Builder and Range Builder Extended. Each group should be practiced for at least one week before moving ahead to the next one.Range ArcsThe Range Arc is the original lick. Many of these have been borrowed from some of the great jazz trumpeters of all time; Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, Chet Baker, Tom Harrell, Randy Brecker, Fats Navarro and Blue Mitchell. You should begin with the key that is marked with an asterisk * ; it is an easy key and range and will help you familiarize yourself with the lick. Practice slowly at first and then work for speed. Once you are familiar with the * lick, start at the beginning of the Range Arc. Work on each key until you get it smoothly. Repeat as needed and rest between each key. Take the D.C. and play 8va through the indicated key (see the box at the end of the Range Arc) that takes you to High C. Rest for 15 minutes.Range BuildersAfter resting, you are ready for the Range Builder. These are short.

Samantha Bramley #6010395. Published by Samantha Bramley (A0.800218). ā€˜None But The Lonely Heartā€™ by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky This was one of my favourite classical pieces as a child and inspired me to take up the ā€˜cello. This arrangement is for 4 ā€˜cellos and would make a nice encore or be perfect for inclusion in a varied program. All parts are in bass clef and only the second ā€˜cello part goes above 4th position (Bb), making it ideal for a student ensemble of mixed ability. Keep Calm & Play Cello! Note from the arranger: All my arrangements for ā€˜cello quartet, quintet and sextet are conceived specifically with the range and technical capabilities of the ā€˜cello in mind ā€“ no simple transpositions or re-orchestrations of string quartet scores. They are therefore both easily playable and enjoyable by any intermediate to advanced ā€˜cello ensemble. Most parts do not go beyond 4th position, making them equally suitable for student, mixed ability groups or ā€˜cello choirs. A complete score and set of parts is included. You Taught Me How To Speak In Love - Marlena Shaw (Lead Sheet for Vocal & Guitar solo/Chords/Lyrics/Piano Intro)This is the vocal melody score (with lyrics) for the second ballad You Taught Me How To Speak In Love from R&B female vocalist Marina Shaw's 1974 hit album WHO IS THIS BITCH, ANYWAY?The intro piano and the solos of the two guitarists (Larry Carlton & David T. Walker) in the latter half of the song are also copied completely. The melody of the song has also been transcribed as faithfully as possible.PDF format, 4 pages.Lyrics and music by Molly Leikin & Art MunsonSong: Marlena ShawSongs commentary怀This song is said to be the motif of Itoshi no Ellie by Southern All Stars, but this song has a simpler structure than Itoshi no Ellie.怀The song structure repeats the A part and the B part (chorus) twice, then fades out (F.O.) while repeating the B part.怀During this time, there are solos involving the two guitarists in the song. First, Larry Carlton on the left takes the lead in the high register with a clever use of chord tones, and David T. Walker, seated on the right from the third turn, develops a unique and chic phrase.怀Marina's singing is free and uninhibited, but her phrasing is full of color as if she is speaking her feelings to the audience.

In 1887, he wrote his most successful composition, The Song That Reached My Heart. The Song That Reached My HeartMr. Jordan tells the following story of how he came to write The Song that Reached My Heart. Mr. Sayres, manager of the minstrel company, chanced to hear at one of the New York theaters a song entitled The Song for Me, which introduced Home! Sweet Home! as a finish. The following day Mr. Sayres and I met. He spoke of the song he had heard and said that he would like to have me get it for use in this minstrel company. Naturally I objected to taking the composition of another man, being a song writer myself, and so I told Mr. Sayres that if he was desirous of having a song which would introducethe melody of Home, Sweet Home I believed that I could compose one which would be as effective as theone he wished me to obtain. The idea was favorable to him, and Mr. Sayres at once suggested as a title for the song that I was to compose, The Song That Reached My Heart. Take that for a title and go home and see what you can make of it are the words Mr. Sayres used. I went  home and the possessors of 100,000 copies of the song today know what I made of it. Willis Woodward, the song'spublisher, regarded the piece to be one of the most lasting and profitable hits in his long career.[Julian's twin brother, Jules Jordan, was also a composer and singer. Here's my contribution with a transcription of this beautiful composition for a brass quartet.

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1294307 By Roger Whittaker. By Roger Whittaker and Ronald Webster. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Score and Parts. 44 pages. John Ivor Holland #884691. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1294307). The Last Farewell is a song from 1971 by British folk singer Roger Whittaker and Ron Webster. When Whittaker hosted a radio programme at that time, one of his ideas was to invite listeners to send their poems or lyrics to me and I would make songs out of them. We got a million replies, and I did one each week for 26 weeks. Webster, a silversmith from Birmingham, sent Whittaker his poem entitled The Last Farewell, and this became one of the selections to appear on the radio programme. It was recorded, and featured on Whittaker's 1971 album New World in the Morning (A Special Kind of Man in the US and Canada). It is one of the fifty all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) physical copies worldwide, peaking at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. It was kept from number 1 by Rod Stewart's Sailing, resulting in an oddity that the top 2 songs in the UK singles chart at the time had a nautical theme. The Last Farewell also went to number 1 in 11 other countries, selling an estimated 11 million copies worldwide, making it Whittaker's best-known song. Created in memory of Roger Whittaker (1936-2023).
