Composed by Clyde Moreland. Arranged by Jon Arterton. Historic,Holiday,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. 9 pages. Moreland Publishing Company #1015165. Published by Moreland Publishing Company (A0.1435064).

This wonderfully patriotic song about the Statue of Liberty will have your audiences on their feet. It embraces the contributions immigrants have made to this country. It’s perfect for Americana/Fourth of July-themed concerts. It features a major solo. The lyrics tell the story.

SOLO: Set sail across these waters over a wide and open sea
With my wife and my son and daughters to this land of Opportunity
Disembarking at Ellis Island feelings of pride came over me
As the veil of the mist that shrouded her lifted up I could clearly see
Standing tall she lifted my heart, revealing all I’d come to be
She holds the light for my rights, for my life, for my child, for my land

CHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me

SOLO: Two hundred years we now flash forward at the dawn of this brave new world
As I stand with my eyes gazing upward she still stands with the light in her hand
It still shines as bright as it can be for those still longing to breathe free
Though by the waves we are tossed as we weather the storms she still shows us who we can be
Standing tall she lifted my heart, showing all we’d come to be
Stands for the lonely and lost and those tempest tossed she still stands

CHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me

VARIOUS SOLOS: I am the farmer standing by my plow
The small business owner makes a go of it now
I am the dreamer through no fault of mine
But still wanting a life and a future that’s bright/ We are the couple blessed by eyes above
But stripped of our rights because of who we love
We are the tired, the oppressed and the poor
The huddled masses at the golden door

CHORUS: We are a people of all colors and creeds
Together we’re strong in our diversity
Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me.

SKU: A0.828670

Composed by Leslie Bricusse. Arranged by Ted Samuels. Contemporary. Score. 16 pages. Theodore A. Samuels #6053843. Published by Theodore A. Samuels (A0.828670).

This arrangement was created to commemorate both the 50th anniversary of the 1970 Christmas movie musical SCROOGE & the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven.  A more detailed description of this piece & the story & imaginings behind it is included in its covering pages.  However, it may be summarized by its subtitle, What If Liszt Played Beethoven While Scrooge & the Londoners Celebrated?  (Franz Liszt was performing in a European concert tour at the same time that Charles Dickens was writing A Christmas Carol in 1843. Liszt's purpose for the tour was to raise money for constructing a statue of Beethoven in his hometown of Bonn, Germany.)  The piece begins in the key of Bb for the first 3 verses of the song.  The 3rd verse consists of a variation on the melody in the style of Beethoven, perhaps as Liszt might have written & performed it.  The key is raised to C major for the final verse, which includes a few quotes from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, and concludes with some final lines from his Choral Symphony No. 9 as well as The 5th.  The full time of performance by piano/keyboard, solo voice and/or choir is approximately 4 minutes, which may be shortened & simplified by skipping the 3rd variation verse as indicated.

Composed by James Yorkston. Arranged by Gary Arrington. Celtic,Classical,Irish,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 3 pages. Gary Hobart Arrington #6882585. Published by Gary Hobart Arrington (A0.961711).

'Cockles and Mussels' or 'Molly Malone,' the popular folk song about a beautiful fishmonger, was written in Edinburgh in 1883 by James Yorkston and may have been composed to mock Irish people and their songs. Whether or not she was real, Molly Malone is remembered with a bronze statue in none other than Dublin's fair city center.
The song has also become the unofficial anthem of Dublin's people and is sung at every major football game Dublin plays and often also at Irish soccer and rugby matches.
