1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1501193 Composed by Rafael Hernandez. Arranged by Neil Crossland. Classical,Contemporary,Latin. Score. 17 pages. Neil Crossland #1077151. Published by Neil Crossland (A0.1501193). Rafael Hernández, born in Puerto Rico in 1892, is one of the most influential Latin American composers of the 20th century. His work spans multiple genres, but he is particularly renowned for his contributions to Puerto Rican music, where his compositions have become staples. Among his most famous works is El Cumbanchero, a lively, infectious piece that exemplifies the rhythmic vitality and melodic richness of Latin music. Written in 1943, El Cumbanchero quickly became a hit, celebrated for its exuberant syncopation and catchy melodies that evoke the spirit of the Caribbean.El Cumbanchero has been widely covered and arranged by various artists, but one of the most unique interpretations came from the flamboyant American pianist, Liberace. Known for his elaborate showmanship, Liberace’s version of El Cumbanchero brings a dazzling, virtuosic flair to the piece, combining his classical technique with a flair for dramatic embellishment. His rendition adds layers of complexity and a certain theatricality that aligns perfectly with his style, transforming the original piece into a showcase for his talents.Inspired by Liberace's arrangement, Neil Crossland created a four-hand version of El Cumbanchero based on this interpretation. This arrangement allows two pianists to bring even more depth and dynamism to the piece, capturing both the original's infectious energy and Liberace's intricate, virtuosic style. By blending Hernández's vibrant composition with Liberace's unique interpretation, Crossland's four-hand version offers a fresh and exciting way to experience this Latin American classic.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1193920 Composed by Richard H. Neiderhiser. Arranged by Lyndell Leatherman. Christian,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Leatherman Music Services #793388. Published by Leatherman Music Services (A0.1193920). Rev. Richard (Dick) Neiderhiser composed this basic tune years ago as a setting for an Advent hymn text. With his permission I later arranged the tune as a piano solo, adding a John Field theme as the basis for the introduction. Years later, after being stricken with cancer, Dick wrote this text to fit the piano arrangement. I then arranged the piece for SATB choir (opt. mixed quartet), and added a light orchestration. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Dick in 2022 as he made the crossing that he had so eloquently anticipated in this text. The demo mp3 is computer-generated, and thus lacks some of the nuance which you would–of course–include in live performance!I will post the orchestration (or String Quartet and Flute or Oboe) separately.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143904 Composed by Igor Korneitchouk. 20th Century,A Cappella,Contemporary,Religious. Octavo. 37 pages. Studio at the Post #744209. Published by Studio at the Post (A0.1143904). Duration: 16 minutes, 33 pp. Description: Exodus is a great story that belongs to everyone. Not only is it central to Judaism, not only is it integral to the Christian Bible, it is an immortal story that has been, and continues to be, an inspiration to oppressed peoples everywhere on this planet. It is relevant not just as ancient scripture but as living text, to be rediscovered by each new generation of an ever-widening Family of Man. The theme of struggle against oppression and slavery was just as relevant to the early Christians persecuted in Ancient Rome as it was relevant to the American Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, just as relevant to the Soviet Jews wishing to emigrate as it is to the South African Blacks resisting Apartheid. From the Dark Ages and the Spanish Inquisition, to Ghandi's emancipation of India, to the Holocaust, to, full-circle, the ongoing struggles in Palestine today, the story of Exodus is a guiding light in a dim and often grim world. According to the composer: The Story of a Leader is a collection of ‘re-chorales’ I created one summer when I was totally immersed in a post-educational obsession with the 371 Chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach. We used to study these to learn the rules of harmony and voice-leading (no parallel fifths, avoid crossed voices, etc.) at the Cleveland Institute of Music where I began my compositional career. That summer, now a professor of music in my own right, I discovered many broken and bent rules by the master himself and, along with the glory of being able to work through these Chorales myself at the piano, I felt an incredible feeling of liberation and possibilities unmediated by instructors of music theory. I began by stripping away all that Bach wrote, leaving only the hymn tunes which were not his to begin with. These tunes existed long before Bach used them for his tonal experiments, some attributed to Martin Luther, or someone else, others simply listed as ‘anonymous’. The same is true for the texts, which were then translated into English mostly in the 19th century (the provenance of each can be found herein on the first page of each of my reharmonizations). In some cases I modified the text to fit the context. I selected 12 of these ‘re-chorales,’ linking them together based on their texts in a kind of logic that worked for me, and created a narrative that told The Story of a Leader (Moses). This story is highlighted in the music with such techniques as cross-modal harmonies, points of imitation, a beer drinking song in one instance, and in another, to symbolize the parting of the seas for Moses’ people, an inversion of the soprano line in the bass..

Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3501-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3501-E). English.Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809–1892) wrote Crossing the Bar in 1889, only a few years before his death. Although it was not his last poem, he requested that Crossing the Bar appear as the final poem in all collections of his work. This poem describes a person not only at peace, but also perhaps awaiting the time of eternal rest and peace. The journey begins at sunset in a minor mode and finishes in the relative major after having crossed the bar. Both the first C minor chord and the final E-flat major chord have an added F-natural meant to represent the initial call which has guided the protagonist’s journey toward seeing his pilot face to face.

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890766 Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Sneakwood Editions. Baroque,Classical. Score and parts. 34 pages. Sneakwood Editions #4781033. Published by Sneakwood Editions (A0.890766). Vivaldi’s violin concerto in D major, RV 208, survives in three manuscripts:Vivaldi’s autograph score, conserved in Turin. [This edition is based on this source]A copy of the parts, conserved in the Landesbibliothek Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Günther Uecker [de] in Schwerin.Another copy of the parts conserved in Cividale del Friuli. The Grosso Mogul title appears on the Schwerin manuscript, which was written before 1717. According to Michael Talbot, the name of the concerto can possibly be linked to Domenico Lalli’s Il gran Mogol opera libretto, a setting of which had been presented in Naples in 1713. Later settings of this libretto include Giovanni Porta’s, staged in Venice in 1717, and Vivaldi’s RV 697 (1730).The Schwerin and Cividale del Friuli copies of the concerto contain two variants of extended cadenzas for unaccompanied violin, in the first and last movements of the concerto. The autograph version indicates where such cadenzas can be inserted in these movements, but does not contain the cadenzas. A manuscript with the written-out cadenzas must have been circulating before c. 1713–1714 when Bach transcribed such version for solo organ (BWV 594).An earlier version of the concerto, RV 208a, was probably composed by c. 1712–1713. This version has a different middle movement than the RV 208 version.Vivaldi seems to have had no supervision over the Op. 7 collection, published around 1720 in Amsterdam by the Roger firm, in which the older RV 208a version of the concerto was retained. This version of the concerto does not contain the extended cadenzas, nor an indication where such cadenzas could be inserted.
