Small Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Pipa - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.982536 Composed by William Grosvenor Neil. Contemporary. Score and parts. 41 pages. TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC #6701343. Published by TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC (A0.982536). Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden (2009) for clarinet, bass clarinet, pipa, and erhu (score and parts) I composed this piece imagining myself in a garden of images, sonorities, and aromas that all merge in an idyllic moment in time.  I have taken a line from one of T.S.Eliot’s poems in the Four Quartets, for my title, Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden. The poem, Burnt Norton, concludes with the poignant truth that humankind cannot bear very much reality. I often wonder whether my work as a composer really has any significance or meaning beyond helping my listeners temporarily escape their personal realities. In recalling Eliot’s line, What might have been and what has been/ point to one end, which is always present I am reminded that a melody, a single line of lyric pitch flow evokes memory in the mind of the listener and that rhythm and accent often draws our attention to the present moving towards the future. So, with these inherent powersof music in mind, it was my goal to create a piece of vibrant and engaging music that relentlessly draws the listener into the present moment. Eliot also alludes to a timeless merging of present and past in this poem. His line, then a cloud passed and the pool was empty brought back memories of being a child watching clouds almost unnoticeably move across the sky. I was similarly inspired to conclude Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden with music that evokes an ecstatic stillness tempered with a longing for the past. WGN

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1494549 Composed by Alex Turner and Miles Kane. Arranged by Isaac Regules. 21st Century,Baroque,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Score. 7 pages. Isaac Regules #1071136. Published by Isaac Regules (A0.1494549). Meeting Place (sometimes titled The Meeting Place) by The Last Shadow Puppets, is a standout track from their debut album The Age of the Understatement. The song blends symphonic pop, pop rock and baroque pop, creating a sound that feels nostalgic, haunting and cinematic. This piano solo arrangement of this piece captures the essence of the original, distilling its qualities into a format that allows for an intimate and expressive performance. The song, written by Alex Turner and Miles Kane, explores themes of love, loss, and the lingering impact of memories associated with a particular place. It tells the story of a man who, after a difficult breakup, finds himself reflecting on a relationship that was as fleeting as it was meaningful. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a couple who, for a short time, found solace in their meeting place, even as they understood their time together was limited. The inevitable end of the relationship, initiated by the woman, leaves the man grappling with heartache and a profound sense of longing. As the man wrestles with his emotions, he is caught between wishing the relationship had never happened and being unable to forget it. The orchestral elements and bittersweet melody underscore the melancholic tone of the song, culminating in a reflective conclusion that leaves a lasting impression of love lost.Miles Kane has mentioned that the inspiration for this song came from his own experiences at Heebie Jeebies, a beloved Liverpool venue where his first girlfriend worked. This piano solo arrangement translates the intricate melodies and uplifting accompaniment into a format that is both accessible and challenging for performers. Intended for intermediate to advanced players, it offers an opportunity to delve into the emotional nuances of the piece while improving technical skills.Engage with this arrangement, and allow the piano to evoke the feelings of longing, memory, and the inevitable pain of break-ups. This sheet music, transcribed and arranged by a life-long TLSP fan, faithfully captures the spirit of Meeting Place”.Listen to the arrangement now on YouTube—find the link in the post details.Contact: wnis4659@gmail.comJust for the love of music.

Some of the pieces are solo piano and others feature duets with Mitch Iimori on English horn, oboe, and guitar (but not all at the same time!). The two musicians are obviously exceptionally comfortable and in tune with each other, and the results can be stunning. Very classical in scope and structure, the music is reflective of the natural surroundings of Ms Stevens’ home in the Colombia Gorge region of northern Oregon. The first eight of the fourteen tracks make up the Seasons Suite, a group of lyrical compositions inspired by the various times of year in a remote area of eastern Oregon. The other six pieces also have themes of nature and serenity. The Seasons Suite begins with Colors Change, obviously about the transition of summer into fall, but also about the concept of change as we grow. Reflective and subdued, the interplay between Stevens’ piano and Iimori’s oboe is effortless and flowing. Autumn Wind picks up the pace a bit, but continues the easy flow, bringing images of leaves swirling in the ceaseless wind of that area. Signs of Winter is a bit darker and more mysterious. Iimori is a big fan of Paul McCandless, and that musician’s influence is very strongly heard in these first three pieces - a very good thing! In Clouds, Iimori switches from oboe to English horn. This duet with the piano is a dramatic musical depiction of the gathering clouds and anticipation of a coming thunder storm. I really like it a lot! Snow is tranquility set to music. Sparrow’s Song brings us to the beginnings of spring - the freshness in the air, and the joyful songs of birds in the yard. July reflects the laziness of a hot summer day. Season’s Reprise brings together the themes from the various seasons, creating a lovely closing to the Suite. On Summit, Iimori trades his woodwinds for guitar in a gentle, sweeping duet with the piano. Waning Star is a gorgeous piano solo that has a peaceful grace and quiet serenity - a favorite. Reach For the Stars is a piano solo that has an uplifting sense of moving forward and reaching out. Dawn closes the CD with a warm and soothing confection. The piano is accompanied by light percussion, bass, and washes of synth strings. Full of hope and optimism without being sugarcoated, this piece is spellbinding in its gentle way.

Two Violins, Piano - Digital Download SKU: IZ.PDP300 Composed by Rebecca Clarke. Score and Parts. 52 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #PDP300. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.PDP300). 9 x 12 inches.Clarke worked on the Pieces for Two Violins and Piano during 1909, her last year at the Royal College, when Danse Bizarre gained her a scholarship. Clarke mentioned Danse Bizarre in her typescript memoir composed in the 1970s, and also discussed it with me in 1977 while helping me catalogue her compositions, but she said then that it was long lost, and made no mention of any related material. In the year 2000, however, Clarke's great-nephew Daniel Braden found.a box that Clarke had put in the back of a closet decades before and evidently forgotten, which turned out to contain a chaotic assortment of letters, papers, medical records, and music-manuscript sheets. When put in order, the latter yielded the missing inner leaf of an important viola piece and a number of previously unknown or presumed-lost arrangements and compositions, including ''Danse Bizarre and a Prelude, a Nocturne, and the beginning of a Finale for the same instruments, on the same paper, and bearing similar markings in Clarke's hand and in at least one other hand, which may well be Stanford's. The four movements were plainly developed as a suite, although there is nothing to suggest a sequence for the inner movements, and no compelling reason to believe that the Finale ever got beyond the extant eight pages. The manuscript of the Finale is noticeably rougher than those of the other movements, and several pencil-markings, apparently in another hand, suggest that some of its motivic material had not yet jelled. It seems entirely possible that Clarke had only begun this movement when a family crisis forced her to leave the College, and that she never returned to it. In any case, there is not enough of the Finale to make performance feasible, but the other movements stand quite magnificently on their own. They were recorded by Lorraine McAslan, David Juritz, and Ian Jones on Dutton CDLX 7132, released in 2003. The first public performance, by students at the Royal College under Jones's supervision, took place in May 2005 in the College's Concert Hall, where Clarke had last performed nearly a century before.

Regis Bookshar #6635863. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813970). String Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a String Quintet, consisting of 2 Violins, 1 Viola, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1368478 Composed by Pachulski. Arranged by Jose Valladares. 20th Century. Score. 2 pages. Circlesquare Music #952826. Published by Circlesquare Music (A0.1368478). Valse Mignone by Henryk Pachulski is a delightful and charming piece that embodies the elegance and grace typical of the waltz genre. Henryk Pachulski was a Polish composer and pianist who lived during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Though not as widely known as some of his contemporaries, Pachulski's work is appreciated for its lyrical beauty and technical refinement. The term mignonne in French means cute or dainty, and as such, Valse Mignone can be translated to mean Charming Waltz or Dainty Waltz. Here are some aspects you might expect from Pachulski's Valse Mignone:Elegance and Charm: As a waltz, Valse Mignone is likely characterized by its elegant and flowing melody, embodying the grace and charm that are hallmarks of the dance. The piece probably features a lilting rhythm in 3/4 time, with an emphasis on the first beat of each measure, creating the distinctive one-two-three pulse of the waltz.Lyricism and Melody: Pachulski's compositions are noted for their melodic beauty. Valse Mignone would likely feature a tuneful and expressive melody that is both captivating and memorable, inviting the listener to be swept away by its romantic allure.Technical Grace: While maintaining its charm and elegance, the waltz might also offer technical challenges for the pianist, such as intricate finger work, delicate articulation, and dynamic nuances that require a refined touch and a sense of stylistic interpretation.Romantic Character: Reflecting the Romantic period's emphasis on emotion and expressiveness, Valse Mignone would likely convey a sense of sentimentality and romanticism, allowing the performer to explore a range of emotions and expressions within the piece's structure.Structural Clarity: Despite its expressive and romantic qualities, the piece is likely to have a clear structure, with repeated sections and a form that supports the dance's flowing character. This clarity makes the waltz accessible and enjoyable for both the performer and the listener.Atmospheric and Descriptive: Pachulski had a talent for creating music that paints vivid pictures in the listener's mind. Valse Mignone would likely be descriptive and atmospheric, drawing the performer and the audience into the elegant and refined world of the waltz.

Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1315952 Composed by Pietro Mascagni. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Classical,Easter,Film/TV,Opera,Romantic Period. 8 pages. RBMusic #904730. Published by RBMusic (A0.1315952). In 1889, a struggling composer called Pietro Mascagni heard about a sponsored competition for one-act operas, specifically for young Italian composers who had not yet had an opera performed, only two months before the deadline. With little time, he selected the subject for his opera and asked his childhood friend, Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti (who was helped by Guido Menasci), to write a libretto for him. Mascagni selected a story that he had seen as a play in Milan in early 1884 by realist writer Giovanni Verga, “Rustic Chivalryâ€, or Cavalleria rusticana. A passionate love tragedy featuring seduction, adultery, revenge and murder, it is surprising set on Easter morning.Mascagni received only a few verses at a time from his librettists, but he was not worried because he had the opera clear in his mind: “I identified with the drama to such an extent that I felt it within myself in terms of music.†After two months’ of work, the music for Cavalleria rusticana was finished but he feared the opera would fail and put the music in a draw. Fortunately, his wife sent it off, he unanimously won the competition and was soon the talk of Europe. (At the premiere in May 1890 in Rome, Mascagni received no fewer than 60 curtain calls.) Unfortunately, it was a one-hit wonder with Mascagni unable to repeat its success, saying towards the end of his life that “it is a pity I wrote Cavalleria first for I was crowned before I became king.†He died, penniless, in 1945.Today, few people have heard of Mascagni’s name, and, if they have, it is rarely in relation to anything but one piece from Cavalleria rusticana, the Intermezzo. A short piece of purely orchestral music that is uses to denote the passage of time, the orchestration is very simple but it is such an indulgently beautiful melody (based on a hymn heard earlier in the short opera) that perfectly captures the peace of country living in Sicily against the intense feelings of the main characters and the looming tragedy to come. The piece is so popular that (along with the “Easter Hymn†from the same opera), it is the only reason Mascagni features in the Classic FM’s Hall of Fame. The piece was used in the 1980 film Raging Bull and the 1990 film The Godfather Part III.A recording of the original song can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgr-I1y1_2M.Other searchable terms: Italy, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Cathy Moriarty, Nicholas Colasanto, Theresa Saldana, Frank Vincent, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Andy García, Eli Wallach, Joe Mantegna, Bridget Fonda, George Hamilton, Sofia Coppola.
