Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1495235 By Tony Bennett. By Bart Howard. Arranged by Ben Pritchard. Film/TV,Jazz,Reggae,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. 38 pages. Benjamin Pritchard #1071779. Published by Benjamin Pritchard (A0.1495235). Custom arrangements and engraving are available.bpritch77@gmail.comEmail if additional parts are needed (ex. TC Baritone, vibes, etc). This is a fun, laid back Reggae arrangement of the classic jazz standard. The arrangement is based on Shaggy’s version from his Grammy-nominated album “Com Fly Wit’ Mi.” (produced by Sting). It’s a great change of pace from the usual jazz ensemble styles and arrangements. The melody is traded between various trombone and saxophone parts. The solo section can be performed with the written section solis or as a traditional improvised solo. Or the section could be repeated and you could do both! Both piano and electric keyboard parts are included to add to the authenticity. String quartet - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7119 As Ludwig van Beethoven could (possibly) have composed it. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Duration 13 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7119. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7119). What do Beethoven and the children's song Fuchs Du hast die Gans gestohlen have in common? Nothing, strictly speaking. Although the song was written as early as 1824 (and theoretically, Beethoven could have known it), it has not left deep marks on his oeuvre. But what if he had known it? Wolfgang Birtel pursued this question and, in reply to it, conceived a symphony for string quartet: behind each movement is an original symphony by Beethoven (spiced with quotes from other works). The children's song appears as the main theme in the final movement of Symphony No. 1, in the famous funeral march of Eroica, fate knocks at the door (of the goose house) in remembrance of Symphony No. 5, and the work ends with Ode to the Roast Goose (Symphony No. 9). A funny and cleverly arranged collage, a performing and listening pleasure in the footsteps of Beethoven.

Percussion-Quintett - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q50078 A Homage to Deagan for percussion ensemble. Composed by Gavin Bryars. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, score and parts. Duration 20 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q50078. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q50078). One Last Bar Then Joe Can Sing (1994) was commissioned by the Arts Council of Great Britain for the percussion quintet Nexus, and is a reflection on aspects of percussion history, both personal and musical. The members of Nexus are my friends (I played in the Steve Reich Ensemble along with Russ Hartenberger in 1972, the year after Nexus was formed). The piece aimed to demonstrate how a fine percussion ensmeble can be as musically expressive and subtle as, say, a string quartet. The piece starts from the last bar at the end of the second act of my opera Medea, a very short coda for a quintet of untuned percussion instruments during which the curtain falls. In this piece, however, this one apparently innocuous measure is progressively fragmented until it is taken over, little by little, by the addition of tuned percussion instruments. Eventually two metallophones (crotales and songbells) play aria-like material with bows, occasionally joined by the xylophone, and accompanied by marimba and xylophone ostinati. The piece ends with a coda in which phrases are passed from bowed vibraphone to bowed crotales, then to bowed songbells, supported by tremolos on the marimbas. The rare 3-octave songbells that Nexus owns is one of the American instrument maker J. C. Deagan's particularly fine instruments. The piece is effectively a kind of homage to Deagan, the Stradivarius of the tuned percussion world, who collaborated closely with Percy Grainger in the development of tuned percussion music between the wars. The allusions in the title are obvious: the one last bar is the last measure of music from my opera; the song is that of Deagan's songbells. In the case of Joe I wanted to link my father, Joe Bryars (who was a good amateur baritone singer) with Joseph Deagan and his songbells. However, some time after I had written the piece, Nexus's Bob Becker took me to one side and told me (gently) that the initial J in Deagan's name, in fact, stood for JohnGavin BryarsPercussion 1: Crotales (with bow), Chocolo, Mark Tree; Percussion 2I: Song Bells (with bow), Chinese Cymbal, 3 Wood Blocks; Percussion 3: 2 Cymbals, 2 Triangles, Xylophone, Marimba (shared with Marimba II), Vibraphone (with bow); Percussion 4: 2 Cymbals, 2 Gongs, Marimba I (with low F), Maracas; Percussion 5: 2 low Tom-Toms, Marimba II (to low A).

Electric Violin,Instrumental Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845977 By The Khromatiks. By Kayleigh Moyer, Kyle Pudenz, and The Khromatiks. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Latin. Individual part. 10 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #5375599. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845977). This is a loop station composition for electric violin that I composed for my live-looping duo, The Khromatiks, in 2013. Doing my part to increase the available repertoire for extended range violins out here on the internet!I originally recorded this tune on a 7-string electric violin with a Boss RC-30 loop station. That being said, there are plenty of other gear configurations that will work. Any phrase looper/sampler that is capable of playing 2 separate tracks or sections with overdubs will be able to handle this structure, such as the Singular Sound Aeros, Boomerang III, Ableton Live with a MIDI controller, etc. If you don't play 7-string, a 5-string can also play this chart as written if you use an octave pedal to record the low bass lines. A standard 4-string can also work, although some phrases will have to be transposed 8va.A little about this tune: the head melody is a basic lydian dominant motif that gets displaced forwards or backwards by a sixteenth note on each iteration. In Nashville Number System, we call this sort of syncopation a push, which inspired the title. This idea transitions into a B solo section with a latin songo groove. This is a great tune for practicing tight rhythmic syncopation, or for developing solo ideas on modal scales! With The Khromatiks this piece was performed as a duo with violin & drums/percussion, but also works as a violin solo. If you have a looper capable of syncing to a click track, you could also try adding bass (plays the bottom line of loop 2 only) or guitar/keyboards (read the chord symbols as a lead-sheet). The sky is the limit, feel free to get creative with it!Please, if you have questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me via my website, www.kylepudenz.com/, or on Instagram @theviolinvagabond
