I wrote this march and dedicated it to my current band, Old Hall Brass,  when I was first playing with them in 2003. Now that I'm back with them after a 9 year hiatus, I felt it only appropriate to publish it here.The opening 10 bars are a bit of a muck-around and are entirely optional. OHB's current conductor, John North, likes to entertain, so it's basically a tuning up section, like you would find in an orchestral concert but with some laughs thrown in!The march starts for real at the Segno. There's a fanfare-like opening which leads into the first main melody for the euphonium and solo horn. This is repeated with extra fanfare interjections from the trombones. The bass solo is a fairly traditional part of a march and this is no exception, except that it is not repeated. Another fanfare-like section leads into a reprise of the euphonium/horn melody with interjections from trombones and cornets. The final section is similar to the opening fanfare before the DS. Repeats should not be played on the DS.

North Macedonia (known as Macedonia before February 2019), officially the Republic of North Macedonia, is a country in Southeast Europe. It gained independence in 1991 as one of the successor states of Yugoslavia. It is a landlocked country bordering Kosovo to the northwest, Serbia to the north, Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, and Albania to the west. Both the music and lyrics date from the early 1940s. The music was composed by Todor Skalovski, one of Macedonia's most distinguished composers who also served as the conductor of its opera. The title means “Today over Macedonia� (is born the new sun of liberty…� This quick and easy national anthem arrangement is essential for traveling musicians, bands, instrumental and school groups and both amateur and professional ensembles. This arrangement is convenient to use and you can play it with any virtually any combination of conventional instruments found in the band or orchestra. The arrangement can be used with symphonic band, clarinet choir, brass ensemble, brass band, solos, duets and trios - almost anything! The score and parts are presented in a single 34-page PDF file. Shea, a 1905 Notre Dame graduate and organist at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, wrote the music, and his brother, John F. Shea, who earned degrees from Notre Dame in 1906 and 1908, wrote the original lyrics. At the behest of his former music teacher, Professor William C. Hammond of Mount Holyoke College, Rev. Shea would first perform the song publicly on the organ of the Second Congregational Church of Holyoke, Massachusetts, where Hammond was music director, soon after completing the composition with his brother in the winter of 1908. The song would first be performed on Notre Dame's campus on Easter Sunday, 1909, in the rotunda of the Golden Dome.
