A Ilha (The Island) is a tone poem `commissioned and dedicated to the Banda Musical de Fornos (Musical Band of Fornos) for the celebration of his 100.º anniversary.  Fornos is a locality of Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, nearby the confluence between the rivers Douro and Paiva.  On the river exists an island called Ilha do Castelo (Castle Island) or Ilha dos Amores Love Island.  The piece is a portray of this island, starting from the two names, being built in two part:  - First Castle is in a modal language and with irregular rhythms that remits for a medieval sonority; - Second Love has a written tonal and romantic, with a melodic subject that explores the expressiveness in the execution.  .

It was originally published in London as part of the Jullien Band Journal in 1849 and uses music from America as thematic material in a manner in which Louis Jullien (1812-1860) did with his other polkas and quadrilles written to showcase music from different countries. French-born Louis Jullien was an international superstar conductor, composer and music publisher. Among other things in his career, he led his Jullien Orchestra on a tour of America in 1853 and founded the concert series in London known as the Proms Concerts. He also employed some of the biggest names in the music world at one time or another including Hector Berlioz, Jean-Baptiste Arban, and Theodore Thomas (founder of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra).

Duration: 8'00.Concertutti is a portmaneau, a made-up word combining concerto (a composition for one or more soloists with a large ensemble) and tutti (everyone). To my knowledge this is the first concerto for three trumpets to have been composed in the past 250 years. (The only other triple concertos in the repertoire are one by J.S. Bach and two by Antonio Vivaldi.) Concertutti was commissioned by The Northwest Passage Trumpet Trio and was premiered by them on May 3, 2019 with the Grove City College Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Tedford. A revised version was performed by The Northwest Passage Trumpt Trio on June 30, 2019 with the Hollidaysburg Community Band, under the direction of Doug Stephens. The current edition is a second revision, with the chief differences of being over three minutes shorter and sporting a new coda.
