Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912070 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Broadway,Musical/Show,Pop. 11 pages. RayThompsonMusic #518001. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.912070). Arranged standard wind quintet Your Mother Should Know is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 EP and LP Magical Mystery Tour. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney.Titled after a line in the 1961 film A Taste of Honey, its lyrical premise centres on the history of hit songs across generations. McCartney said he wrote it as a plea for generational understanding and respect for a mother's life experience. In the Magical Mystery Tour television film, the song serves as a big production number in the style of a 1930s Hollywood musical. Some commentators view the sequence as cultural satire, as the Beatles are seen dancing and dressed in white evening tails. Your Mother Should Know is in the music hall style, further to McCartney's earlier composition When I'm Sixty-Four.He first offered it as the Beatles' contribution to the Our World satellite broadcast in June 1967, but the band favoured John Lennon's All You Need Is Love for its social significance. The initial sessions for the song took place at Chappell Recording Studios in London towards the end of August. The group were visited there by their manager, Brian Epstein, a visit that marked the last time he joined them in the studio before his death on 27 August.

Contemporary,Pop. 16 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6517961. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.554033). The Fool on the Hill is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 EP and album Magical Mystery Tour. It was written and sung by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The lyrics describe the titular fool, a solitary figure who is not understood by others, but is actually wise.McCartney said the idea for the song was inspired by the Dutch design collective the Fool, who derived their name from the tarot card of the same name, and possibly by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The song's segment in the Magical Mystery Tour television film was shot separately from the rest of the film and without the other Beatles' knowledge. Accompanied by a professional cameraman, McCartney filmed the scene near Nice in France. In 1968, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66 recorded a cover version of the song that reached the top ten in the US. By the late 1970s, The Fool on the Hill was one of McCartney's most widely recorded ballads. A solo demo and an outtake of the song were included on the Beatles' 1996 compilation album Anthology 2.   Arranged for standard wind quintet, the melody is taken first by the oboe, and then by the flute. Interesting parts for horn, clarinet and bassoon. The mp3 extract is of verse 2

Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Pop. 17 pages. RayThompsonMusic #860853. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1268290). Arranged standard wind quintet.A Day in the Life is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as the final track of their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the opening and closing sections of the song were mainly written by John Lennon, with Paul McCartney primarily contributing the song's middle section. All four Beatles played a role in shaping the final arrangement of the song.Lennon's lyrics were mainly inspired by contemporary newspaper articles, including a report on the death of Guinness heir Tara Browne. The recording includes two passages of orchestral glissandos that were partly improvised in the avant-garde style. In the song's middle segment, McCartney recalls his younger years, which included riding the bus, smoking, and going to class. Following the second crescendo, the song ends with one of the most famous chords in music history, played on several keyboards, that sustains for over forty seconds. My version of the crescendo for 5 instruments! has chromatic scales played in different note values, over a repeating E on bassoon...it seems to work! The melody is taken by the clarinet, oboe and flute. The mp3 is the end of the middle section, leading into the final verse. The video is the complete piece.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership.Lennon's son Julian inspired the song with a nursery school drawing that he called Lucy – in the sky with diamonds. Shortly before the album's release, speculation arose that the first letter of each of the title nouns intentionally spelled LSD, the initialism commonly used for the hallucinogenic drug lysergic acid diethylamide.Lennon repeatedly denied that he had intended it as a drug song. He attributed the song's fantastical imagery to his reading of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland books.

Being for the Benefit of Mr.Kite arranged brass quintetBeing for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! is a song recorded by the English rock band the Beatles for their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was written and composed primarily by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. Most of the lyrics came from a 19th-century circus poster for Pablo Fanque's Circus Royal appearance at Rochdale. One of the most musically complex songs on Sgt. Pepper, it was recorded by the Beatles on 17 February 1967 with overdubs on 20 February (organ sound effects), 28 March (harmonica, organ, guitar), 29 March (more organ effects) and 31 March.John Lennon wanted the track to have a carnival atmosphere, and told producer George Martin that he wanted to smell the sawdust on the floor. In the middle eight bars, multiple recordings of fairground organs and calliope music were spliced together to attempt to satisfy this request.i have attempted to vary the sound with the use of muted trumpets. The 1st and last verses are given to trumpet 1, and verse 2 taken by the trombone. The mp3 is the end of the mddle 8 circus section, leading back in to the verseFun for every player:Enjoy.

Score and parts. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #379309. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.771667). I Am the Walrus is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 television film Magical Mystery Tour. Written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was released as the B-side to the single Hello, Goodbye and on the Magical Mystery TourEP and album. In the film, the song underscores a segment in which the band mime to the recording at a deserted airfield. Lennon wrote the song to confound listeners who had been affording serious scholarly interpretations of the Beatles' lyrics. He was partly inspired by two LSD trips and Lewis Carroll's 1871 poem The Walrus and the Carpenter. Compositionally, every musical letter of the alphabet is invoked and every chord is a major or a seventh. Producer George Martin arranged and added orchestral accompaniment that included violins, cellos, horns, and clarinet. The Mike Sammes Singers, a 16-voice choir of professional studio vocalists, also joined the recording, variously singing nonsense lines and shrill whooping noises. Since the Hello, Goodbye single and the Magical Mystery Tour EP both reached the top two slots on the British singles chart in December, I Am the Walrus holds the distinction of reaching numbers one and two simultaneously. Shortly after release, the song was banned by the BBC for the line Boy, you've been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down. Transposed into Ab Arranged brass quartet: 2 tpt, tbn and tuba. Alt horn in F part for tbn. You tube link is the clarinet quartet arrangement, but will give you an idea as to how the wq will sound.
