Trombone Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811087 Composed by Tom Ervin. Arranged by Marco Bordogni. Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Individual part. 26 pages. Gordon Cherry #5009439. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811087). The Rochut editions of Bordogni’s vocalises have become the most widly used etudes in American trombone pedigogy. They are prized for their lyric beauty, and also for their development of endurance, upper range, legato technique, styling and more. Other bass clef instrumentalists use Rochut. These Twenty Counterparts may be practiced and played as etudes alone. They are similar in style to the Bordogni; some are harder and some are easier than the Bordogni originals. But the primary intent was for recreational duet playing and for the trombone studio. Duets are fun and more, contributing to sightreading, intonation, ensemble, style-matching, confidence, independence, etc. As with the piano accompaniments, the duet parts also enhance the original melodies. Read what these famous trombonists have to say about this new contribution to the trombone literature …indisputably one of the most invaluable additions to appear in a very long time. Understanding lyricism is much easier when hearing this second voice. Joseph Alessi, Principal Trombone, New York Philharmonic …fantastic and beautiful. What a great idea! They will give the student a wonderful sense of music-making. Henry Charles Smith, Arizona State University …absolutely ingenious….they capture the essential character of each piece and cleverly expand and enhance the original material. Can be ‘stand alone’ material in its own right. I have already used them successfully on trombone, euphonium, and tuba. Loren Marsteller, Los Angeles An enjoyable new way to play the old favorites. Perform them with friends; record one part and play the other; play them alone…a great idea. Ralph Sauer, Principal Trombone Los Angeles Philharmonic A great book and a great idea! Really valuable; I am using it in my teaching. Jay Friedman, Principal Trombone, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Excellent studies, challenging in all registers, rewarding to play. Ned Meredith, formerly San Francisco Symphony Orchestra A very insightful and fresh approach to the trombone’s most important collection of etudes…destined to become a standard in the trombone literature. An absolute must! Michael Davis, jazz recording artist, New York City The unexpected harmonic progressions are a delight. They work great for euphoniums and for trombone and tuba R. Winston Morris, Tennessee Technological University …similar to the Rochut yet contains challenging rhythmic independence and contrast, increasing the value of ensemble experience. As an aid to duet performance, the measure, staff and page format is arranged the same as Rochut’s Fischer edition. Glenn P. Smith, Professor Emeritus University of Michigan A fine addition to the lyrical literature Charles Vernon, Bass Trombone Chicago Symphony Orchestra They’re not only enjoyable to play, but add some ‘zip’, harmonically, melodically, and rhythmically, to the original melodies. Buddy Baker University of Northern Colorado Compositionally, very interesting, not just a duet in thirds…stylistically appropriate…a great way to begin a lesson. Vern Kagarice, University of North Texas An outstanding idea, very valuable Keith Brown, Indiana University I enjoy the book with my students and then also change parts Carsten Svanberg, Danish National Symphony Orchestra Bravo! They serve a great purpose, very musical and playable. Will become a part of the standard trombone repertoire in a very short time…already part of mine. Jiggs Whigham, Professor of Trombone and Jazz, Cologne Germany

3, 4 or 5 octaves handbells - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: C7.CGB1084 Composed by Anna Laura Page. Arranged by Anna Laura Page. General. Score. 8 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGB1084. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGB1084). UPC: 749193028049.After the overwhelmingly moving Pinnacle 2015 concert by Council Oak Bells of First United Methodist, Michael Glasgow was ecstatic to accept a commission for them. Named after the French ballet term meaning dance for two, the piece was conceived as a duet between bells and violin. This sublime original composition is at once flowing and rhythmic, contemplative and forceful, haunting and dramatic. It is designed to offer exceptional opportunities for musical nuance and interpretation, and to present a pleasant challenge without being too technically intricate.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1026727 Composed by Jesse Holan. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 24 pages. Jesse Holan Enterprises #6359535. Published by Jesse Holan Enterprises (A0.1026727). The Stream parallels the journey of a few water droplets rolling downhill as they gather with one another to form a small stream and eventually pool out into a big lake. I grew up next to a stream running through my parents’ property, so I was always playing with the mud, fish, and tadpoles. When the professional EvNiKa Clarinet, Violin, and Piano Trio asked for original music, this water idea began to form in my head. The Stream, inspired by Virgil Thomson’s piece The River (1937), stylistically models various American speech rhythms and folk melodies to personify a small but growing body of water. The PDF download includes the score followed by each individual part.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999882 Composed by William P. Gorton. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Octavo. 10 pages. William P. Gorton #6116581. Published by William P. Gorton (A0.999882). On the Seashore of Endless Worlds, with a text by Tagore, beautifully paints the ironically naive view of children playing at the edge of the threatening ocean, a metaphor on the uncertainty of life and the virtue of innocence. Full of playful text painting, this is a true art piece, and accessible to even a moderately skilled singer. Wonderfully rocking piano ostinati illustrate the rising and falling of ocean swells and blasting chords the crashing of waves. The spiritual message here is to help us appreciate the joy of life even more intensely in the face of our eventual demise. This neo-impressionistic work would be excellent material for a faculty, student, or professional recital at conservatory or in public. Other Gorton songs are available to make a set.

Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,Harp,High Voice,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976036 Composed by Lior Navok. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jewish,World. Score and parts. 44 pages. Lior Navok Music #4719303. Published by Lior Navok Music (A0.976036). SPRING CALLS - for Soprano, Flute, Viola, Cello and Harp (2006) DURATION: 10:30 Minutes TEXT: Canticles 2; 1-13 (also known as The Songs of Songs or Shir Hashirim LANGUAGE: Hebrew TEXT CHARACTERS: Latin PROGRAM NOTES: The composer writes about his work: Spring Calls for soprano, flute, viola, cello and harp is a setting of texts from the second chapter of Canticles (Shir Hashirim) book, known also as The Song of Songs. It is one of the five Megilot - sacred scrolls that are part of the Hebrew Bible. Canticles is mainly being read in Passover, the holiday of spring. Its theme is love and rebirth of love, symbolized by the spring. Usually, only one or two lines of Canticles texts are being set to music. However, I had an interest to create a sort of journey as well as a psychological journey of a woman who searches, awaits and discovers her love. The text parallels the awakening of love with the awakening of spring in a most vivid and colorful way. While choosing instrumentation and musical language to with work, the modal, archaic sound mixed with the new was in my vision. Therefore, one can hear colors of certain exotic and primeval instruments such as the sistrum - an ancient Egyptian percussion instrument, dated from 2500 B.C. used mostly for religious ceremonies. Spring Calls was written for Close Encounters With Music, Yehuda Hanani - artistic director. It was generously commissioned by Lola and Edwin Jaffe with deep appreciation to their support. Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767258 Composed by Claudio Monteverdi. Arranged by Mike Lyons. Baroque,Renaissance. 62 pages. Lyons Music Services #3121649. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767258). The Fifth book of madrigals starts to see much more development towards operatic style writing, with more songs being strung together to form scenas and with the addition of accompaniment on instruments. Some of these songs can be written by incorporating the accompaniment into the parts for those instruments which are resting, some will require more than a quintet. Certainly as we get into the next three books, reduction to a quintet will become increasingly more difficult, if not impossible. The final song from book 5 shows quite an advance on the previously (relatively) simple writing. Here we have a full SATB ensemble plus a quite detailed continuo. Questi vaghi (These wandering little birds) also has a more complex structure, being, by itself a scena, split into sections by ritornelli which he calls Sinfonias. At this stage, they are by no means substantial enough to be considered preludes or interludes, but merely dances between the sections of the song. Because of this added complexity, I have had to arrange the piece for a 9-part brass choir. There is some overlap and crossover between the continuo and choral parts to accommodate the different groupings needed for each section. The ritornello sections need to be played more lightly and in a skipping style to add contrast between the 'vocal sections'.
