The episode was written by freelance writer Morgan Gendel based on his original pitch. It was partly inspired by the Beatles' song The Inner Light, written by George Harrison and based on verses in the Tao Te Ching. In this episode, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is struck unconscious by an energy beam from an alien probe. While minutes pass for the rest of the crew, the probe makes Picard experience 40 years of lifetime as Kamin, a humanoid scientist whose planet is threatened by the nova of its sun. The probe is later found to contain a flute, which Picard keeps as a memento for the remainder of the series and in Star Trek: Picard. The flute melody, featured prominently in the episode, was composed by Jay Chattaway and has since been re-arranged for a full orchestra. The episode is widely considered by critics and fans as one of the best episodes of the entire Star Trek franchise.Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to stay updated on new releases.

Brass Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.791035 Composed by Jimmy Kennedy and Michael Carr. Arranged by Kevin P Holdgate. Contemporary. Score and parts. 20 pages. Kevin P Holdgate #4889985. Published by Kevin P Holdgate (A0.791035). Versatile Brass 'Old Time Favourites' CollectionWe're Going to Hang out the Washing on the Siegfried Line is a popular song by Ulster songwriter Jimmy Kennedy, written whilst he was a Captain in the British Expeditionary Force during the early stages of the Second World War, with music by Michael Carr. It was first published in 1939The Siegfried Line was a chain of fortifications along Germany's Western border, analogous to the Maginot Line in France. At the first big wartime variety concert organized by ENSA, which was broadcast by the BBC from RAF Hendon in North London on 17 October 1939, Adelaide Hall performed the song accompanied by Mantovani and his orchestra. A rare newsreel of this concert exists, and the footage is thought to be the earliest surviving film of a performer singing the song. The song was used as a morale-booster during the war, particularly up to and during the Battle of France. This is a simple arrangement of the song with a vocal line added if required.

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1162569 Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 43 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #762940. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1162569). This is the twenty-sixth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all  volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view.Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 26 (Songs 676-702)Once a Farmer and His WifeOnce I Loved a LassOnce I Loved a maiden fairOne man went to mowOne More RibberOrientis PartibusOrphan Girl (the)Ould John BraddlumOur Captain cried All Hands 1Our Captain cried All Hands 2Our Captain cried All Hands 3The Outlandish KnightOwl (the)Oxen Ploughing (the)Paddy on the RailwayPainful Plough (the)Parson HoggPaul JonesPay Me My Money DownPeace O’er the WorldPeggy BondPenny Wager (the)Pine Tree (The)Piper o’ Dundee (the)Plains of Waterloo (the)Ploughboy’s GloryPoacher’s Song.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1357038 By Michael Swedberg. By Terrence Niska. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 8 pages. Niska Music Publishing #941665. Published by Niska Music Publishing (A0.1357038). The people of the town gather at the dock to hear of the grand adventure about to take place. The trumpets play a fanfare as the brave crew board the ship and make ready for their imminent departure. The captain steps to the front, and the crowd grows silent as he tells of the glories and perils that await. The families, friends and loved ones listen intently while offering their silent prayers for the safe return of all those on board. They are sailing into uncharted waters, so there is no guarantee that they will ever again set foot upon their homeland, but they are undaunted and grow restless for they hear the call of the open sea. Soon all is ready and the captain closes his oration with a promise to return and share all the tales of their exploits. All those assembled on shore let out a final cheer as the courageous band of explorers set forth to meet whatever fate awaits them.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410415 Composed by Julian Harvey. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. 128 pages. Julian Harvey #992821. Published by Julian Harvey (A0.1410415). Having read many of the novels of Patrick O'Brian about the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars, I thought I would write music for a hypothetical film based on these novels. I started H.M.S. Surprise long before I learned that such a film, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World was actually being made. I had neither seen the movie nor heard the music used in it.H.M.S. Surprise consists of two movements for chamber orchestra. The first, In the Harbour, serves as an introducton. It portrays an existence which is peaceful and devoid of the difficulties to be encountered later. To be sure, there is some back-street intrigue and romantic entanglement, but life is generally pleasant. The second movement, At Sea, immediately follows the first and is considerably longer and more programmatic. It begins with typical adventure at sea music and soon becomes an imitation of a sailor's hornpipe, begun by the flute. Next comes the storm or the battle or perhaps both at the same time. Calm returns and the sailors give thanks by singing a hymn. Thanksgiving turns to celebration as everyone on deck plays one tune or another, including even the Captain, Jack Aubrey, who plays the violin. Later Captain Aubrey and his friend, Steven Maturin, physician, spy and cellist, play a duet before the music comes to a rousing conclusion.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522222 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Folk,Holiday. Score. 21 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3913261. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522222). These folk song arrangements are written in the Welsh language. The vocal range is from Middle C to F on the top line of the staff. They are suitable for mezzo soprano and could also be sung by tenor voice an octave lower. They are among some of the most popular folk songs of Wales and sure to be well received at a vocal recital. They would also make excellent encore pieces. For copyright reasons, English translations are not provided, although some are to be found on various web pages. 1. Y Ddau Farch (The Two Mares) The song tells the story of two horses. The older one tells the younger, “In my day I was as good a horse as youâ€. But when I became too old to work, I was sent away to the mountains. She vows never to return to her cruel owners. This is an example of a macaronic song in which the lyrics use more than one language.  2. Si Hei Lwli, ’Mabi (Sleep, my Lovely Baby) In this pentatonic lullaby, a mother tells her child that their ship is moving away, the captain is on board, the eastern wind is blowing and the seagull is on its nest. 3. Canu Cwnsela (Wassail Song) The singers ask permission to come in and sing for their dinner. But they seem to have chosen the wrong house because the reply is: “I have no dinner or money to spend, to give you a welcome tonight.†The melody is in the Dorian Mode.  4. Robin Ddiog (Lazy Robin) The song, also in the Aeolian mode is about a robin whose little house is always tidy. “Open the door a little bit, so that I can see the sea and the waves†he asks. When the door is opened, the breeze sweeps away all the leaves from the floor. 5. Migildi Magildi “When the smithy’s door is open, we can see the blacksmith working.†The song describes the sights and sounds of the blacksmith’s workshop. You can hear all the songs in the audio demo, though they are played by an oboe rather than sung.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.846741 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Debbie Warren. Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 12 pages. Keep Calm and Keep Singing #453430. Published by Keep Calm and Keep Singing (A0.846741). The Ballad of William Taylor (or Willy Taylor), Bold William Taylor or The Female Lieutenant (as it is sometimes called) tells the story of a woman who is deserted on her wedding day by William Taylor because he has been pressed ganged and sent away to sea. She decides to follow after him and disguises herself as a man in order to sign up. Her identity is discovered when her tunic bursts open during a battle revealing her womanhood! She tells the Captain she is looking for William Taylor and he tells her where to find him. However, William Taylor has found a new lady. Clearly upset that William Taylor has forgotten her so easily our heroine draws a pair of pistols and dispatches both her disloyal lover and his new lady! In some versions the Captain is so impressed with her that he either marries her himself or makes her a ship’s commander or both! In this arrangement for SSA the middle voice is always on the tune in the verses whereas the higher and lower harmony voices either sing the melody or their harmony part. It is important these counter- melodies do not overpower the tune and the words otherwise the story is lost. Try to bring out the melody in the chorus. In fact you might like to try having all the voices on the melody for the first chorus to establish it. Also works with mixed voices by adding men to the alto part for the verses and the melody line for the chorus. FREE resources are available (backing track, teach tracks) just email keepcalmkeepsinging@gmail.com with proof of purchase. Easy level Duration: 2'30.
