Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024528 Composed by Joanna Gill. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Joanna Heather Gill #3132845. Published by Joanna Heather Gill (A0.1024528). Evening Snow is a SATB choral piece written for and winner of the Call for Scores St.Andrews University competition in 2015. With lyrics by Peter Davidson, Evening Snow paints the landscape and scenery of New Zealand - which can often be described as a larger and sunnier version of Scotland (my home town).. So I was keen to write music that captures both the space and surroundings of the vastness of New Zealand whilst adding a slight Scottish feel.Lyrics: So far, so late, so distant and so cold. How faint the mountains in the fading day. North of the waters, snow down to the shore. South of the waters, stone fields, storm blown thorns. Snow in the dusk now, and night winds that move. Over vast waters to the farthest stars.

Choral 2-Part Chorus,Choir,Choral - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1512378 Composed by Samantha Jellett. Children,Christian,Easter,Lent. 56 pages. Samantha Jellett #1087378. Published by Samantha Jellett (A0.1512378). A Time to Rejoice! is a dramatic and poignant cantata for schools/children's choirs and piano (organ accompaniment also available) in which performers and audience embark on an exciting journey through time to witness the events of the first Easter.  The time machine is somewhat unreliable, adding humour to the story, and stops are made in the Garden of Eden and Bethlehem before arriving in Jerusalem for Palm Sunday and the events of the crucifixion.  The optional second parts greatly enhance the cantata and can be sung by a group of children or even an adult choir.Whilst not a staged production, there is plenty of scope for acting in the roles of the Captains, and props such as tea lights for the opening procession, pilots' hats for the Captains and palm branches in the song The King is Coming.A Time to Rejoice!  was premiered by St. Joseph's in the Park school, Hertingfordbury, UK on 17 March 2023.  Here are some comments from staff/parents:'A Time to Rejoice! was amazing...the best production St. Joe's has ever put on' Deputy Head.'An absolutely amazing evening! Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.939656 Composed by Richard St. Clair. 20th Century,A Cappella,Christian. Octavo. 38 pages. Richard St. Clair #3000253. Published by Richard St. Clair (A0.939656). This Latin Mass on all 5 movements of the Mass Ordinarium (Kyrie - Gloria - Credo - Sanctus/Beneductus - Agnus Dei) owes its title to the fact that with one exception every syllable of the Latin text receives one note of sung music. Of this work, eminent musicologist Willem Elders has commented It's interesting to see how you have been dealing with a text that in the past has been set by countless composers. It is what could be called a real 'Missa brevis', and I suppose that the cardinals of the Council of Trent in the 16th century might have been very happy with it, apart then from its harmonies, to which they were not yet used. The sound clip is of the first two movements. Stylistically, the music is mostly tonal with some more contemporary pandiatonic harmonies, and the rhythms are quite straightforward.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.879629 Composed by Stephanie Martin. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Biretta Books #3518055. Published by Biretta Books (A0.879629). TRANSLATIONSedebit Dominus Rex is the Communion Antiphon for the Feast of Christ the King. The text is from Ps 28:10b, 11b: Sedebit Dominus Rex in aeternum: Dominus benedicet populo suo in pace. The Lord will sit on his royal throne for ever; the Lord will bless his people in peace.A NOTE FROM THE COMPOSERWhen Fr. Scott Haynes, SJC, sent me the words and original chant material for â€˜Sedebit Dominus Rex’ it immediately conjured a vision of a medieval King seated on a throne, grave and powerful. But the figure surprisingly descends to His people and blesses them with peace.Having worked with St. John Cantius’ Saint Cecilia choir on â€˜Missa Chicagoenis’ in June 2017, I know these splendid voices have a wide dramatic range, so I wrote expressive music for them, and for Corrado Cavalli, I wanted an interesting organ part with lots of colour. The original Gregorian chant melody presents a pentatonic gesture, so I used that idea, and, combined with some medieval cadences, some Duruflé-inspired counterpoint, and a sprinkling of Wagnerian harmony, I painted the musical picture with an ecstatic, twenty-first- century ending.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987108 Composed by William Campbell. Arranged by William Campbell Music. Christian,Christmas,Concert,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. William Campbell Music #6115675. Published by William Campbell Music (A0.987108). A setting of the ancient Epiphany hymn Illuminans Altissime by St. Ambrose of Milan, From the collection, Five Ambrosian Hymns. Suitable for schools, churches, or for modern performance choirs, this music is based on the hymn written in the 4th Century by St. Ambrose of Milan. The original tune most likely sounded like what we would consider to be chant, but in a style that was specific to Ambrose, and came to be known as Milanese or Ambrosian in style. This is a meditative reflection of our own journey as we follow our own paths toward enlightenment. In recasting the hymn as a performance work I wanted to portray both the figurative and literal aspects of the imagery of light by using regular rhythmic patterns within accompaniment voices. In this way I hoped to illustrate the regular pattern of prayer that could lead individuals to Christ’s illumination. There are also important moments with harmonies that feature seconds, resulting in soft, almost clashing pitches that twinkle or shimmer like stars in the sky. .
