The five-minute arrangement is scored for a traditional British Brass Band of soprano E-flat cornet, B-flat cornets, flugelhorn, 3 E-flat alto horns, 2 baritone horns, euphonium, and E-flat and B-flat bass. Whether you want to play it yourself, or just follow Dudley Moore´s magnificient interpretation: This is an “as close as you can possibly get� transcription of Moore´s version in the bar scene from the movie (hence the video link). Played like this, an instrumental version can tell a whole story. There is another, later version (from 1987, I think) in a Henry Mancini TV-show where Moore played it slightly differently. However, I prefer the movie version. I especially admire Dudley Moore for his articulate use of the middle voice played with the left hand. Duration: approx 04.00 min. Advanced level.
