The arrangement follows the verse and chorus structure of Larry Beckett's original text, but there is a countermelody which threads its way between the melody of the song. This is first stated by the piano accompaniment and then taken up by the choir throughout. This is the siren's song calling across the sea which is intended to be both beautiful and haunting at the same time. The piano accompaniment mimics the rolling movement of the sea which builds in intensity until the final closing bars.The arrangement is intended for choirs of a medium to large size, as the soprano and bass parts occasionally split into two parts.

There is a middle contrasting section where the trumpets and trombones can shine, and then the Going Home melody comes back to finish the piece. Published by charliebmusic (A0.865879). ‘Togetherness’ is a Soca Carnival hit from the 2007 Trinidad carnival, and was sung originally by Alison Hinds on her ‘Soca Queen’ album, with music and lyrics by Leroy Brathwaite, who happens to be Rhianna’s uncle.Suitable for Pride, a Holiday celebration or any show about community, the song contains powerful lyrics about unity, community and togetherness, as well as mentions of stopping the fighting and gun violence. The half time reggae in the middle 8 leads to a defiant unison section where the entire ensemble declares ‘They can’t be believe that we love one another’. This leads to a final explosion of joy. Especially infectious, this tune demands audience participation and choir movement of some kind.The song itself is relatively repetitive and builds in energy with every return of the main chorus. It is vocally demanding and high energy throughout, demanding some vocal stamina and knowledge of Trinidad pronunciation. It could also be an opportunity to learn about the history and practice of carnival across the world, both as celebration of individuality and also as fighting oppression.

This was the only movement performed publicly during Saint-Saëns's lifetime, as he considered the rest of the suite too frivolous, or too silly, for his career as a serious composer. Understandably so, as it is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, depicting a swan gracefully paddling across the surface of the water, with a calm, gentle mood. Quite ironically, the piece is in G major, which has gained a completely different meaning in Internet culture. The Branles de Malte by Jean d'Estr+¬e were originally composed by the French Knights of St. John in Malta in 1551 for the Dauphin of France. Gordon Mizzi has made guitar transcriptions of these five dances and this is the first time that they are being published. The Branles de Malte by Adrian Le Roy are also included. There are a number of original compositions. Saints and Fireworks, a piece in two movements, vividly represents Malta's village festas. Island Scenes are six musical portraits of towns and villages dotting the landscape of Malta.They include Valletta- Barrakka Gardens, San Giljan-After the Feast, Mdina- Citt+á Notabile, the dreamy Comino-The Blue Lagoon, Sliema- The Tower, and the pulsatingly brash Paceville -Sin City. Three Love Poems : Hula, Lahaina and Hana are influences from Hawaii. There are also two cradle songs Child Don't Cry and Ninna Nanna as well as folk inspired melodies such as Night Crossing and il- Maltija. The guitarist will find a veritable pot pourri of scents and sounds in this album.

El Camino Real (The Kings Highway) was a trail first established by the Spanish in the 1700's, along which the Franciscan fathers traveled to establish missions. In the 1800's it was used as a stagecoach route by settlers. This piece is a musical depiction of the stagecoach ride which originated in Mexico, came through San Antonio and Austin, passed through the hill country of Texas and continued through Louisiana, ending in Mississippi. The trail crossed 12 rivers, including the Rio Grande. El Camino Real from A Texas Symphony is also stand alone piece, and is about 12 minutes in length.. The music begins with a Spanish flair in Mexico, features a beautiful sunrise over the river, hill country bird calls, travels in the coach through the city of Fredericksburg incorporating a polka theme, and then travels out the state.
