This series focuses on global music emphasizing different styles in music. As with all solos in the 'Noah's Ark Series', are listed facts about the animal and locale as well as the theory in the piece. Joey decided he wanted to represent the waltz style since one thinks of the the folk song, Waltzing Matilda associated with Australia. This song is even described as the country's unofficial national anthem. However, as any musicologist will tell you, this song doesn't meet the criteria of a waltz (must be in triple time) because it is written in 4/4. So Joey and I made sure the song I composed in waltz style for his song is in 3/4 time. This and other pieces in 'Noah's Ark Series' is great for recitals (especially global or animal themed) and for contest and festival lists.

Autonomous since 2000, it voted for independence in 2019, which is scheduled to be obtained before 2027. The anthem of the autonomous territory was adopted in 2018 and will most likely be adopted as the new nation’s anthem once independence is achieved. Titled “My Bougainville�, the melody is that of the Australian patriotic song “The Song of Australia� (one of four songs considered on a national plebiscite for that country’s anthem, but was rejected), the lyricist is unknown. It is not uncommon for anthems in the Pacific region to use the tune of a patriotic song or hymn of a current or former colonizer (as evidenced by the “Pacific hymn� genre of anthems); Australia governed Bougainville as a part of Papua New Guinea from after World War I to Papua New Guinea’s independence in 1975. A version of the name of this festival survives in Manx and Scots Gaelic as well as in Irish Gaelic, and the name itself derives from Lugh, one of the most important Celtic godsMabon marks the Autumn Equinox and the end of summer; for me, it is a wistful moment of the year-extremely beautiful yet transitory. Samhain is one of the most significant celebrations in the Celtic year- the word itself means the end of summer, the beginning of the dark part of the year. It survives even in non-Celtic countries as Halloween, thanks to its adoption into the Christian calendar as All Hallows’ Eve. It is said to be the  time when the veils between this world and the next are at their most thin.The Winter Solstice is marked in many European cultures as a time for celebrating the birth of the new light and a time for decorating with evergreens like holly. For The Holly King, modal and traditional versions of the carol The Holly and the Ivy, were used because of the lyrics’ references to the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer.
