Naturally, it does not reproduce MARCATO style unless I input input all quarters as dotted 8ths. Actually, I start the piece CANTABILE and switch to MARCATO at and the rocket's red glare. I never could get the percussion sounds I wanted so I entered the snare roll as individual notes. Thanks.

Putting these two tunes together was too much fun for tubas only, so this is the trombone quartet arrangement utilizing portions of two famous American (ish) tunes, Stars and Stripes Forever and Beer Barrel Polka.  Fun! Fun! Fun!  Super fun stuff for four trombones.  The top trombone part does stretch to triple C and the bass trombone part does descend to pedal tone range.  However, in both cases, ossia notes are included to accommodate any ensemble needs.  To make rehearsal easy, generous rehearsal marks are (as always) included.  Get those trombones going and celebrate!  Enjoy!

Grim (A0.939390). The COVID Awakening is a marimba quartet for two 5.0 octave instruments. This piece is inspired by minimalism and minimalist compositional techniques combined with layering found in West African drumming, though it is not the only source of this specific technique. It was written during the beginning of the summer of 2020, when the Coronavirus, COVID-19, had started its grips on the United States in the forms of illness, death, and economic and emotional distress. This piece reflects on these early feelings of quarantines and sheltering in place, and using the techniques listed above the listeners are pulled in to listen between the notes. These reflections are found not in the music itself, but is different with every listen. The listeners’ ears will venture as they wish, and make this piece new with every performance, even though the notes and rhythms never change. Instrumentation: Two 5.0 octave marimbas, though only one marimba needs to be the full range. Marimba 1 can be a much smaller instrument if necessary. I’d suggest using rubber/latex mallets. Unless the performance is in a reasonably dry hall, this articulation and tone benefit does wonders for this piece. Each player needs only 2 mallets.

In classical music, two composers come to mind: Johann Pachebel for his Canon in D and Emil Reznecek for his overture to Donna Diana. I am certain that they have written a lot more music, but we only know them for the above-mentioned works. The same is true in wind band music. The composer in question is one, Charles E. Duble. His one big hit is his circus march, Bravura. One of his lesser known marches is Wizard of the West. It was originally written in 1908 and dedicated To A. R. Wheeler, Musical Director, Howes Great London Shows. To this day, however, this occidental expert remains a mystery because he has not come out from behind the curtains. However, the western wizard does make his presence known in the euphonium section-especially in the trio.

A Capo is required at the fifth fret, but this makes the part much easier on the fingers.The metronome mark is close to the speed of the original, but as an instrumental, it also works if you go a little slower, especially if it makes for a tighter performance.The parts are laid out with extra sample pages at the front so that you can preview some of each part and some of the full score on screen before purchase. When you think of jazz bands, who doesn't think of Franz Schubert [1797-1828].  Normal people, right?  When listening to both his Trout Quintet and his Lied named The Trout, I thought if Schubert can use this melody multiple times, would it also work as the basis of a jazz band chart?  This is the result: am up tempo swing chart that is both fun and playable.  The chart overall is Grade 2 with solos a grade harder for Alto, Trumpet, Trombone, and Piano which, of course, can be altered to match the level of your players.
