But it was the Glenn Miller version that grabbed the public’s attention, becoming almost the soundtrack to the Second World War. In the Mood has never lost its appeal and has been recognised as culturally significant by the Library of Congress. In 1951 In the Mood became the first piece of music to be played by a computer.This arrangement of In the Mood is written with accessibility in mind. It is arranged for SATB Saxophone Quartet; that is Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones, plus rhythm section of Bass, Drums and Piano/Guitar. This arrangement  aims to deliver the big band sound with a smaller group.
