Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1277927 Composed by Terry Gilkyson. Arranged by Thomas Gunther. Comedy,Film/TV,Jazz. Score. 2 pages. Thomas Gunther Music Productions #869433. Published by Thomas Gunther Music Productions (A0.1277927). About the arrangement(See also (PopJazzKeys.com/The-Bare-Necessities)This is a relatively easy to play solo piano jazz arrangement of THE BAR NECESSITIES. The song is a traditional jazz tune made famous in the Walt Disney movie THE JUNGLE BOOK. The video and audio recording I posted here features me playing the short version of my arrangement. When played as written (with all the repeats) it is almost 4 minutes long. What's cool about this arrangement is that you can easily add a bass player and even an entire rhythm section while playing it the same way as you would in a solo performance!Who this arrangement is best suited forI think everyone who likes the song except perhaps advanced jazz pianists will have fun learning and playing this arrangement. I arranged this piece originally with my younger piano students in mind, who have smaller hands than most adults. That’s why there are no large intervals or big jumps in the left hand. Something generally found in ragtime and early jazz piano styles. This means that my arrangement is perfectly suited for pianists with smaller hands. Of course pianists with large hands (like myself) can play it too (ha-ha!).I think it is also a great piece for pianists who want to familiarize themselves with playing jazz piano. And since I wrote out every note and articulation, they can play along with the recording and hopefully pick up the traditional jazz feel along the way.Although the arrangement is not very difficult, it poses several challenges for the inexperienced pianist, as explained later. How I arranged itAs I already explained above, there are no large intervals or big jumps in the left hand to be found. Instead, I focused more on polyphonic arranging techniques, in both hands. I also used guide tones and inversions. The left hand imitates the accompaniment style of a traditional jazz guitar or banjo player with added half time bass figures that are typically played by a tuba or upright bass an octave lower. Tips for how to learn this arrangementWhen I teach this song to my students I strongly recommend to them to listen to the original version and my recording a lot, rather than explaining to them how swinging eighth notes and jazz articulation work. By the way, there are a few bars where you hear me playing straight eighths on the recording (as indicated in the sheet music). I decided to add articulations so that pianists who have not a lot of experience with playing jazz will find it easier to play it with the appropriate “touchâ€. It's a good idea to check those out.Should you not be familiar with playing polyphonic passages with one hand, you might want to practice very slowly at first and attempt to balance the different voices appropriately. Listening to the recording will also help with discovering dynamic possibilities. I didn’t want to clutter up the sheet music with dynamic markings, so listening to the recording is really the only way to figure out what dynamics I had in mind.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548649 Composed by J. S. Bach, 1685 - 1750. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Wedding. 34 pages. Jmsgu3 #3407871. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548649). Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring from Bach's Cantata 147, arranged for flute choir: piccolo, 3 flutes, alto flute, bass flute, double contrabass flute (optional) and cello (optional). Score: 19 pg. Parts: 2 pg. Duration with optional repeat: 7:36 Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring Bach composed a cantata called Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Though it is the 32nd cantata, it is listed as BWV 147. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is the 10th movement of the cantata. It was customary to use previous melodies as a basis for a new work - a practice called Cantus prius factus. So, the chorale melody for this piece is a historic tune called Werde munter, mein Gemüthe. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is customarily performed at weddings, and during major church seasons such as Easter and Christmas. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, in addition to his complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development, his sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival                Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1115994 By Thomas Graf. By Thomas Graf. Arranged by Thomas Graf. 20th Century,Classical,Jazz. 27 pages. Thomas Graf - the-hit-factory.com #717714. Published by Thomas Graf - the-hit-factory.com (A0.1115994). Fantasy in 3 movements for large wind ensemble, double bass and percussion 1. Deux Caracteres 2. Dialogues 3. Dance de Confusion Confluence is the name of a place in Lyon where 2 rivers flow together: The Saône flows into the - at least in German - female Rhone. In French, however, it flows into DEN Rhone - Le Rhône. This confuses the composer: How do rivers get their gender, are they sometimes male, sometimes female? Is it because of their character, because of the landscape that they flow through? By their water, even by their fish? On the people on their shores? A real confusion ensues. In the subsequent thoughts about music, the composer discovers certain analogies and asks himself the question: does gender-typical music actually exist? Or instruments? Typically male harmonies or rhythms? Or clearly female melodies and the way to interpret? The 3-movement composition is dedicated to this question and meanders like a dance in the bed of the converging streams. Colorful modal harmonies form the bed for wide arcs of melody. A varied, recurring theme sets the direction and creates a bubbling, dancing pull in the direction of the mouth: dancing finale! 1st movement: Deux Characters In the first movement (Andante) the roles are distributed - the Sâone and the Rhône get their performers. A first glance at the ensemble reveals a tendency: woodwinds take on the female lead, the male brass the counterpart. The two drummers each support one of the two poles in solidarity. The assignment may be obvious, but strong doubts remain in the final chord of the first movement. 2. Dialogues: In smaller and larger dialogues, there is a lively exchange and the properties are worked out and further developed. But it is also increasingly being copied and imitated, even maliciously agitated and aped. You try to convince each other, interrupt each other, both sides increasingly flare up, it gets louder and more hectic, louder and louder, too loud, until communication stops: in the end, you just yell at each other! 3. Dance de Confusion The resulting confusion finds a conciliatory end in the third movement of the composition: Let's dance! In the end, the initial confusion turns into a confusion: what belongs together flows and dances together. Composed by: Thomas H. Graf Arranged by: Thomas H. Beginning with a delicate sound and colorful chords, this arrangement smoothly evolves into a hymn infused with modern nuances, featuring lightly syncopated rhythms. This is My Father’s World intermediate piano solo encompasses several specific elements for intermediate pianists: syncopated rhythms, lush chords, fluid left-hand patterns, and a contemporary twist on a timeless hymn.My goal in creating this arrangement of This is My Father’s World was to have a reflective piano solo for worship with a modern flair. There are colorful chord choices as well as light syncopation which gives this hymn an easy-listening feel. For church services, recitals, and spring/summer music events, This is My Father’s World intermediate piano sheet music solo will capture the listeners and cause them to ponder.Similar in level to most Level 4 piano curricula and ABRSM Level 4.The basic format of This is My Father’s World intermediate piano solo is: introduction, verse, interlude, verse/â€chorus,†interlude/modulation, verse/â€chorus,†ending.6 pages. While the first page is a faster tempo, be sure to take your time on any held notes (you can add fermatas where there are none and it sounds great).Once the left hand arpeggios/broken chords come into play, think about playing with depth and not rushing the tempo. One trick I particularly like to do is hold the first note in a chord briefly longer than the rest. This is important for measure 36 where the right hand has a jump of 2 octaves.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.834139 Composed by M. L. Daniels. Arranged by M. L. Daniels. 20th Century,Christmas,Contemporary. Score and parts. 57 pages. M. L. Daniels #13363. Published by M. L. Daniels (A0.834139). This orchestra music is just for fun, as you can hear when the audience laughs at the end of the recording. Someone must tell the audience what to expect in order to get a good response. The music is made up mostly of public domain Christmas music, woven together in unusual ways, including different melodies appearing at the same time. The audience is told that Santa has had too much Christmas Cheer to drink, and the smears in the trombones indicate his condition. Half the fun is when the melodies bump into each other, and when pieces of Stars and Stripes and National Emblem March find their way into the mix. At the end, the music indicates Santa is falling, and lands with a big thud. Enjoy!
