The fifth piece, however, doesn't recall the first one (except that both share the same speed), but rather opens the cycle and points out to somewhere else.   You can also find a certain system in the keys: the tonal centres are respectively Db, D, F#, B, A. If you order these pitches wisely, you get a usual chord: B minor 7th with 9th (B, D, F, A, C#). Does this detail make the music better? Certainly, since the composer is a fetichist. It opens in the key of C, with perfect fifths, creating the sense that something mysterious is on the horizon; then, in the seventh measure, the America theme (a pattern of running sixteenth notes and eighth notes) is heard first in Flute 1, then Flute 2, then Flute 3. Soon after, Flute 4 and then Flute 5 take up the theme, and toward the close of the piece, the same theme is heard in Flutes 3, 5, and then 1 again, respectively. Three verses of America the Beautiful are presented, each portraying the song with added variations, and three keys are surpassed by the close of the work. Here We Go is a collection of five easy and attractive pieces for double bass (or bass guitar) and piano. They are written in easy keys for double bass and remain in first position throughout, though one of the pieces uses half position. Any of these pieces can be used at a student concert or recital or can be used as sight-reading exercises. They are all very short and are sure to be popular with students and audiences alike. The collection contains (1) Here we go; (2) Low and Slow; (3) A Welsh Lullaby; (4) In a Minor Mood and (5) The Elephant Song -  a Thai children’s song which is known throughout the country. Bass fingering is provided throughout, except where obvious and articulations have been avoided in the bass part except where essential.  The audio sample contains recordings of all the pieces.
