He worked with Willis Woodward & Co., a publisher in New York City's Tin Pan Alley. In 1887, he wrote his most successful composition, The Song That Reached My Heart.The Song That Reached My HeartMr. Jordan tells the following story of how he came to write The Song that Reached My Heart. Mr. Sayres, manager of the minstrel company, chanced to hear at one of the New York theaters a song entitled The Song for Me, which introduced Home! Sweet Home! as a finish. The following day Mr. Sayres and I met. He spoke of the song he had heard and said that he would like to have me get it for use in this minstrel company. Naturally I objected to taking the composition of another man, being a song writer myself, and so I told Mr. Sayres that if he was desirous of having a song which would introducethe melody of Home, Sweet Home I believed that I could compose one which would be as effective as theone he wished me to obtain. The idea was favorable to him, and Mr. Sayres at once suggested as a title for the song that I was to compose, The Song That Reached My Heart. Take that for a title and go home and see what you can make of it are the words Mr. Sayres used. I went  home and the possessors of 100,000 copies of the song today know what I made of it. Willis Woodward, the song'spublisher, regarded the piece to be one of the most lasting and profitable hits in his long career.[Julian's twin brother, Jules Jordan, was also a composer and singer.Here's my contribution with a transcription of this beautiful composition for a brass quartet.

It remains popular in the United Kingdom as a children's song, having been recorded by numerous artists over the decades. Kennedy lived at Staplegrove Elm and is buried in Staplegrove Church, in Taunton, Somerset, England. Local folklore has it that the small wooded area between the church and Staplegrove Scout Hut was the inspiration for his lyrics.Bratton composed and personally copyrighted it in 1907, and then assigned the copyright to M. Witmark & Sons, New York City, who published it later that year as The Teddy Bears Picnic: Characteristic Two Step, according to the first page of the published piano score, as well as the orchestral parts Witmark published in an arrangement by Frank Saddler. However, the illustrated sheet music cover gives the title as THE TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC, with apostrophe on BEARS and no genre descriptor. Irish songwriter Jimmy Kennedy wrote the now familiar lyrics for it in 1932.After Bratton wrote The Teddy Bears' Picnic, however, many people felt that the composer plagiarized portions of the melody. The song was written by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays for the folk group The Weavers. It was made famous by the group Peter, Paul, and Mary and the singer Trini Lopez whose versions both charted in the top 10 on the charts in the 1960s.This version is arranged for 2-4 octave handbell choir and makes heavy use of mallets for most of the piece. There are some very quick changes between using mallets and normal ringing and there are a lot of syncopated rhythms throughout the piece. These challenges make this arrangement ideal for smaller bell choirs that are still at a intermediate or higher playing ability. Even though the song is not specifically intended for church services, the message of the song can be incorporated into quite a variety of religious themes.The arrangement is in the key of C with no accidentals. For example at a rainforest, you are in the woods in the rainforest, Yes it is cloudy and rainy with thunder sounds, and no one is there to rescue you. you are alone and lost. So I was thinking of making this melody to make it sound beautiful. After I have finished making this song, It was for my assignment, The professor of my digital Audio Class enjoyed it and wanted me to keep it because of how beautiful it was. So I wanted to compose it and write the music down and I'll let the full orchestra to play this beautiful song. I know that it is kind of an unhappy piece. It is entirely in G Minor. However, the Music that I made in the DAW and the Scoring are not gonna have the same melody. It will be the same piece, but it will have a little bit of changes.   .
