Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.917395 Composed by GregoryFritze. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz. Score and parts. 195 pages. Musica Nova USA #4805407. Published by Musica Nova USA (A0.917395). La Tomatina was composed in 1996 in Buñol, Spain while I was researching Spanish band music. Buñol is a small town of about 9,000 inhabitants about 19 miles (30 kilometers) from Spain’s 3rd largest city, Valencia. For 364 days of the year, it is a typical small town, but on the last Wednesday of August it becomes an international attraction. On that day the La Tomatina festival is held. Several trucks drop as many as 145,000 kilograms of tomatoes unto the main street and for an hour at 12:00 noon there are up to 100,000 people taking part in throwing tomatoes at each other. At 1:00 everybody goes to the specialpublic showers to wash up. A fire truck comes down the street washing down the buildings and the main street and by about 2:00 all is returned to normal and all references to the tomato fight are gone. Thetradition has been going on since 1945. I was in the streets taking part in throwing tomatoes for three years. After that when I was in Spain during the festival I watched it on TV.Buñol also has a rich tradition of having two very good concert bands – the Litros and the Feos. Most of the 9,000 inhabitants formally belong to one of the two social clubs. There are several band competitionsheld in Spain and both of these bands take part. The band competition is fierce as bragging rights are won by the winning society. It is thought that this fierce competition is what helps develop excellentmusicians in that many young people become professional musicians and play in many orchestras and bands throughout the country.La Tomatina was premiered by the U. S. Army Band Pershing’s Own on the U. S. Capital steps in June 1996, the composer conducting. La Tomatina is the second movement of Sinfonía de Valencia, a three- movement composition that was premiered in Buñol by the band of Centro Instructivo Musical El Litro Buñol, conducted by Francisco Tamarit in August 1997. Sinfonía de Valencia is recorded by the band of Centro Instructivo Musical El Litro Buñol, conducted by Fernando Bonete Piqueras on Mark Records (CD3816). La Tomatina is also on Youtube with video of the festival at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbpZU7vK3PQ.La Tomatina was a winning composition in 1996, awarded a grant by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. It also won the IBLA Grand Prize in Sicily, Italy in 1998 and was a Semi Finalist as part of the American Prize Composition Competition – Band Division in 1996.This arrangement of La Tomatina was prepared especially for conductor Natalia Montañés in 2004. In thisarrangement there are four percussionists instead of the original five.La Tomatina has been very popular among bands around the world, performed over one hundred times.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1173405 By Coldplay. By Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jon Buckland, and Will Champion. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Wedding. 22 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #773538. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.1173405). Viva La Vida was released by Coldplay as a single in 2008 to immediate critical and commercial success. It went on to become the band's first #1 US and UK single, and it won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2009; with its catchy string hook and upbeat melody, it's no wonder that this song is now a ubiquitous request! Unfortunately, there are many existing arrangements of Viva La Vida that are so boring and repetitive that they put your players to sleep -- but I'm here to tell you that thankfully, this Cellobat arrangement for your string quartet is NOT one of those! This chart gives all your players enough variety to keep everyone awake -- with its lyrical melodies, beautiful countermelodies, dynamic variations, and driving beat, it will be just as much fun to play as it is to listen to. Originally written for a wedding ceremony, this one will also be great for cocktail hour, receptions, parties, corporate events, solo & ensemble contests and any other occasion in need of some good vibes! This is an intermediate level arrangement that will be easily learnable for students and sightreadable for professionals; there are a few tricky rhythms, but all the parts stay in first position throughout.Sarah “Cellobat†Chaffee is an in-demand acoustic & electric cellist and string arranger. Currently, she performs with legendary rock band Aerosmith in their “Deuces Are Wild†residency show, and she is the principal cellist for the Raiders House Band, playing for a crowd of 60,000 at all of the team's home games. She also plays with many other groups including Premiere Wedding Music, Bella Electric Strings, the Femmes Of Rock, and David Perrico’s Pop Strings Orchestra. Sarah has performed and recorded with numerous other artists including Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Halsey, Michael Bublé, Sarah Brightman, and Lady A. She is the exclusive arranger for a number of award-winning wedding and event companies all across the United States, including Premiere Wedding Music, Las Vegas Music Oasis, and Impulse Strings, and she has created custom arrangements for many other ensembles all over the world. Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1103613 Composed by Ennio Morricone. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV. Score and parts. 26 pages. Kevin Riley #706884. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1103613). N the Emilia province of Italy, out of solidarity with the workers fired from another failed company, the workers occupy the factory of self-made industrialist Annibale Doberdò. In dealing with the situation, he starts negotiations. An employee, the beautiful and fiery Irene, nicknamed Califfa, whose worker-husband was killed during a demonstration, meets with Doberdò. He wants to induce the strikers back to work and they show uncertainty between the directives of their union and the incitements to violence by extremists. Irene becomes Doberdò's lover and asks the workers to listen to the industrialist's proposals for renewal of working terms and worker participation in the factory management. The riots, however, continue. The industrialist's stance is badly received by other employers. While he returns from yet another meeting with his lover, Doberdò is killed by assassins.

Easy - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4241 Intermediate Sight Reading. Composed by Stephen Krishnan. Method book. 37 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4241. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4241). My hope is that this book provides a joyful way to strengthen reading skills and helps young musicians enjoy interacting with printed music. The term sight reading is used loosely here - the melodies in this book are meant to be studied closely, so that over time the student will develop the skills to visually interpret the complex pitches, rhythms, and expressions commonly found in intermediate-level repertoire. The book is made up of short songs that can each be played beautifully in one sitting. There are unique (and sometimes goofy) song titles with matching illustrations by Sasha Kolesnik that capture the spirit of the music. Below is an outline of the book’s key components, and my suggestions for how to approach them.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1485603 Composed by Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. Score. 75 pages. Artaria Editions #1062669. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1485603). Unlike the narratives concerning the death of Hercules, and his transformation into a god, and the dispute between Ajax and Ulysses over the weapons of Achilles, the story of Jason's capture of the Golden Fleece provided Dittersdorf with few opportunities for genuine pictorial writing. His explanation for the piano second theme in the first movement seems a little glib – it is, after all, a favourite device of his in non-programmatic works as well but Medea's beautiful soliloquy in the second movement, assigned here to the primo part and in all probability to a wind solo in the original, is as effective as anything in the extant orchestral scores of the Ovid symphonies. His choice of a Ciaconna for the Finale is not only highly appropriate given the heroic theme of the work, but also neatly solves the problem of how to end the symphony unconventionally in the absence of a transformation scene of the kind found in the other symphonies. Yet again, one marvels at Dittersdorf 's powerful creative imagination. The parts are marked carefully although Dittersdorf is not over-detailed in his instructions to the performers. The occasional copying errors provide insufficient evidence to determine whether the parts were copied from a piano score or prepared directly from the composer's full orchestral score. Little editorial work has been necessary to prepare this edition. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets where appropriate. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the manuscript is at times inconsistent in its notation of appoggiature ; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets.  Allan Badley.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802623 Composed by Giuseppe Verdi. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 44 pages. Peet du Toit #6038777. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802623). Rigoletto is an opera in three acts[a] by Giuseppe Verdi. The Italian libretto was written by Francesco Maria Piave based on the 1832 play Le roi s'amuse by Victor Hugo. Despite serious initial problems with the Austrian censors who had control over northern Italian theatres at the time, the opera had a triumphant premiere at La Fenice in Venice on 11 March 1851.The work, Verdi's sixteenth in the genre, is widely considered to be the first of the operatic masterpieces of Verdi's middle-to-late career. Its tragic story revolves around the licentious Duke of Mantua, his hunch-backed court jester Rigoletto, and Rigoletto's daughter Gilda. The opera's original title, La maledizione (The Curse), refers to a curse placed on both the Duke and Rigoletto by a courtier whose daughter the Duke has seduced with Rigoletto's encouragement. The curse comes to fruition when Gilda falls in love with the Duke and sacrifices her life to save him from the assassin hired by her father. Many famous arias, and the quartet are among the many lovely moments captured in this arrangement. Enjoy!
