Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596596 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 12 pages. Juan Maria Solare #5888527. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596596). Three Homages for piano solo1 - Seduce us badly (to Claude Debussy)2 - Ave Verdi (to Giuseppe Verdi) 3 - Schubertango (to Franz Schubert)Three Homagesfor piano solo1) Seduce us badly is an anagram of Claude Debussy. Stephen Porter's project Re-Imagining Debussy required the work to interact in some way with the music or compositional spirit of Debussy. I answered by using some of his technical devices: chords parallelisms, whole-tone scales, brief melodic shapes, central notes and a broad multi-layered texture. 2) Ave VerdiA miniature composed on the death-day of Verdi (27th January 2013). The piece is based on the 7-tone scala enigmatica used by Giuseppe Verdi in his Ave Maria (1889, first from Quattro Pezzi Sacri) and its complement (the missing 5 notes), treated as twelve-tone field. The piece is dedicated to that other Giuseppe: Lupis. The scala enigmatica: [Do - Reb - Mi - Fa# - Sol# - La# - Si] Complement: [Re - Mib - Fa - Sol - La]Original Tone Row: 0 1 4 6 8 10 11 2 3 5 7 9 3) SchubertangoTango music has more to do with Franz Schubert than with any other classical composer. Harmonies and types of melody are extremely similar. Such similarities cease, at the latest, when we come to rhythm. This miniature shows how Schubert's melodies can be flawlessly integrated into the musical language of tango. If one doesn't know the original pieces, you will not even recognize at all that there is a quotation. In the score, the composer kindly tags the sources of the quotations; nevertheless, there is also a hidden quotation (or rather an allusion) that doesn't stem from Schubert: it is the chord progression (not the melody) of a very well known tango of the modern era. Do you find it? The Schubertango was composed in Bremen (Germany) on 28 November 2014 and has a duration of 1 minute. The piece is dedicated to pianist Stephen Porter, in the frame of his project Re-Imagining Schubert, hosted by Vox Novus (New York City) and their cycle Fifteen Minutes of Fame. Juan Maria Solare, born 1966 in Argentina, works currently in Germany as composer, pianist (contemporary & tango) and teaching at the University of Bremen and at the Hochschule fuer Kuenste Bremen. Brass Ensemble Horn - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931280 Composed by Henry Purcell. Arranged by Alessandro Macrì. Baroque,Concert,Film/TV,Graduation. Score and parts. 10 pages. Music Macri Editions #6359937. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931280).

Tenor voice, violoncello, and piano - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8548-E Composed by David Conte. 31 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8548-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8548-E). English, French, Latin.A set of three love poems in three different languages; Latin, French, and English. In all three pieces, the violoncello represents the very soul of the speaker of these three texts, as it moves through many emotions, including passion, suffering, vulnerability, and joy. Levis exsurgit zephirus is taken from the eleventh century volume titled Cambridge Songs. The music has a gentle undulating quality, as the speaker is “possessed by deep sighs in the midst of all this beauty,†for his soul languishes. After several climaxes, the opening music returns in the minor mode, accompanied by “sighs†in the piano and violoncello. Duration: 5:00D’Anne qui me jetta de la neige describes a young man suddenly hit by what Italians poetically call the “Thunderbolt,†a burning moment where one falls suddenly and passionately in love. Duration: 4:00Theodore Roethke's poem, The Moment, is both subtly and unabashedly erotic, and indeed “ends in joy.†Duration: 6:00Contents:1. Levis exsurgit zephirus2. Arranged by Marcos Fernandez-Barrero. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 33 pages. Marcos Fernandez-Barrero #1035694. Published by Marcos Fernandez-Barrero (A0.1456619). Work commissioned by the Rose-Gibbs Duo (Benita Rose and Tony Gibbs) – Prescott (Arizona, USA). This is a work ideal for both,  professional performers as well as students of the year before College level (ie. 17 years old)In the past, I had the chance to experience how performing with a musician who is also your personal partner (wife, girlfriend, etc.) can ease the process of merging together, enhancing the performance as if it were by a single musician rather than two separate individuals. So, when I was asked to write a piece for a duo in such circumstances, like the Rose-Gibbs Duo, I saw it as a great opportunity to explore the possibilities of blending, fusing, and merging musical content, sound, and other parameters into a cohesive whole. Therefore, this work explores the concept of musical discourse produced by the interaction of both instruments, which often have to align their accents, timbre, or dynamics to become one entity; as if melting together, as if two solids became liquid and fused to form a new alloy. The form and structure of the work are also influenced by this constant idea of blending, integrating the various sections into a single, unified movement.Written in Barcelona on July 2023______________________________________Obra encargada por el Rose-Gibbs Duo (Benita Rose y Tony Gibbs) – Prescott (Arizona, EE. UU.).

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.896391 Composed by Pasquale Anfossi (Taggia 1727 - Rome 1797). Arranged by Fabrizio Brezzo. Baroque. Score and parts. 19 pages. Fabrizio Brezzo #4633087. Published by Fabrizio Brezzo (A0.896391). Pasquale Anfossi (5 April 1727 – February 1797) was an Italian opera composer. Born in Taggia, Liguria, he studied with Niccolò Piccinni and Antonio Sacchini, and worked mainly in London, Venice and Rome.He wrote more than 80 operas, both opera seria and opera buffa, although he concentrated on church music, especially oratorios, during his last years. Anfossi died in Rome in 1797.As an operatic composer, Anfossi remained forgotten for a long time, despite his great popularity with his contemporaries, because his works were overshadowed by those of Salieri, Rossini and Mozart. Nevertheless, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe staged Anfossi's farsetta La maga Circe (Circe, the Sorceress) in his role as the theatre director of Weimar. He adapted the libretto with Christian August Vulpius and also made plans for a continuation, which never came to bear.Only in the last 20 years has Anfossi's work been appreciated anew, through diverse productions such as Giuseppe riconosciuto. His work was featured at the 2005 Salzburg Summer Festival.Fabrizio Brezzo, this arranger, lives in Taggia, the town where Anfossi was born.In the second half of this symphony, you can hear the theme that Mozart used, 9 years later, for his Confutatis maledictis of the requiem mass.

Included are Nadal Tindaire (Jingling Christmas), Gabriel's Message (Flugelhorn Solo), El Noi de la Mare (Euphonium Solo), Paure Satan (Tuba Solo), and Fum, Fum, Fum!Marking the border of France and Spain, the mountains of the Pyrenees and the lands adjoining them play host to a rich history, both political and musical, where regional powers have come to be dominated by the larger nations in which they now sit. While Navarre, Catalonia, and Occitania have not existed as nation states for a long time, their cultural sensitivities have never disappeared, they retain their own languages, and their musical traditions offer familiarity combined with interesting differences of approach. From the Basque country in the northwest of the range, spanning the border, with its remarkably unique language, to Catalonia in the southeast's major position in the make-up of modern Spain, vibrant regional cultures continue to thrive. Occitania lost prominence more deeply, and has been more thoroughly absorbed into modern France, but still regional sensibilities are strongly felt and expressed, including a formidable body of folk music. It is perhaps through music that we can most easily identify with these cultures, and the long Christian history of these lands has produced a deep tradition of regional Christmas songs to draw on.   ...David Taylor===.

Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3457407. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534403). This is one of two duets that Leguerney wrote for Geneviève Touraine and her brother, the famous French baritone Gérard Souzay. It was completed on 21 January 1950. The first performance, with Souzay and Touraine, was 21 June 1950 in the Parisian Salle Gaveau with Jacqueline Robin (Bonneau) at the piano.  Previously unpublished, De l’abîme profond, was first recorded by soprano Danielle Borst and baritone Philippe Huttenlocher with Mary Dibbern at the piano. This was for the CD 50-9618, 28 Mélodies issued by Claves Records-Radio Suisse Romande: Espace 2 in 1996. The recording was recognized with the Grand Prix du Disque de l’Académie Charles Cros. The US premiere performance was by soprano Jill Pearon and baritone David Pittman-Jennings, accompanied by Mary Dibbern, during a recital at the Crane School of Music, SUNY-Potsdam, New York, 23 October 2007. The vocal range for the soprano line is C1-G#2 and for the baritone line is B-F1. The text’s poet, Jean de La Céppède (1550-1622), was born in Marseille and spent most of his life working as a lawyer and magistrate in Aix–en–Provence. His principal work, Théorèmes, consists of 515 sonnets dealing with the life of Jesus Christ and the “sacred mysteries of our redemption.†La Céppède’s poem is a translation of a psalm by David from the Old Testament of the Bible. Leguerney also set a psalm of David for medium voice and chamber orchestra, which was premiered by Gérard Souzay in 1954. This orchestral Psaume LXII de David is also published by Musik Fabrik. The French author Jean Roy, reviewing this duet in Le Monde de la Musique (January, 1997), wrote: “There is a grandeur and a dramatic sentiment that surpasses [a] work that one might dismiss as minor.†For a detailed discussion of the music and both a word-by-word English translation and International Phonetic Alphabet transcription of the French text, see The Songs of Jacques Leguerney: A Guide for Study and Performance by Mary Dibbern, Carol Kimball and Patrick Choukroun. It's three and a half minutes with lots of emotions for musicians and listeners. Marching Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1516009 By Alicia Domínguez Arcos Sonay. By Cristóbal Oudrid y Segura. Arranged by Alicia Domínguez Arcos. 19th Century,Contemporary,Historic,Patriotic,Traditional. 24 pages. Alicia Dominguez #1090255. Published by Alicia Dominguez (A0.1516009). Cristóbal Oudrid y Segura was a Spanish pianist, composer of zarzuelas and conductor. He was the son of Cristóbal Oudrid y Estarón, born in Madrid in 1793, a musician in the Napoleonic troops stationed in Badajoz, and director of the National Militia's band from 1825, and Antonia Segura González, born in Badajoz in 1801. He was married to Vicenta Muñoz Vallejo, a native of the same city. As a composer, he is remembered for revitalizing the genre, for pieces in his zarzuelas El molinero de Subiza and El postillón de la Rioja, and for the piece El sitio de Zaragoza, originally the incidental music he composed for the eponymous drama by Juan Lombía. In 1851, together with Joaquín Gaztambide, Rafael Hernando, Francisco Asenjo Barbieri, José Inzenga y Olona y Salas, he founded the Sociedad Artístico Musical para el cultura de la zarzuela. As a conductor, he directed the orchestra of the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro de la Zarzuela. He is buried in the patio de la Concepción de la Sacramental de San Isidro. His grave has a medallion with the composer's effigy made by the Italian sculptor Benedetto Civiletti, a specialist in funerary monuments for cemeteries. The siege of Zaragoza is a descriptive fantasy on military themes composed by Cristóbal Oudrid around 1848. The work was originally conceived as incidental music for the play El Sitio de Zaragoza of 1808 by Juan Lombía, a drama in three acts and written in verse. The music was to be played throughout the play and ended with a rondalla playing the Jota aragonesa. As the piece became very popular with the public, Oudrid made an anthology with it and the rest of the work to create the instrumental work in the form of a descriptive fantasy, independent of the play. During the second half of the 20th century, the work gained popularity due to the national exaltation of heroes of the sieges such as Agustina de Aragón. It was common for military bands and police groups to perform it in recitals and today it continues to be performed by municipal and military bands as well as by orchestras and groups in various versions that offer different readings of the work.
