In this arrangement the Thai text has been Romanized for the use of non-Thai singers, because the vast majority of Thai people know the words by heart anyway. The key is E flat major and the vocal range makes no excessive demands of the singer. The keyboard part has been simplified and chords are shown above the staff. To give confidence to the singer, the right-hand piano part reinforces the melody. Experienced pianists will probably prefer to adapt the right hand part as they see fit. The basic theme is generally attributed  to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Recent research provides evidence that the composer Johann Baptist Holzer could be the original author of the anthem. Holzer was a contemporary and lodge brother of Mozart.

Palm Sunday is also known as Passion Sunday, and this piece was written as an opening to the service after the pastor read a Gospel account of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. However, later in the service is the Passion Reading, and while I had music for that specifically, I felt compelled to acknowledge that after the celebratory acceptance by the populace on the day of His entry into the city, Christ in the garden prayed and contemplated the ordeal He was to endure the next day. This anthem, written for a small choir of SAB, captures the essence of both events and sets up the Passion which is to follow. The part writing varies between unison/octave strength, three part texture, and often moves smoothly from one sonority to another, allowing the voices to blend and the lines to converge into one.

However, in recent discussions on the matter, no consensus was reached, other than on the point that we should have a national anthem. At that time, there was suggestions that the incumbent First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell had claimed that a debate on an official national anthem for Scotland should take place to address the issue.MSP Murdo Fraser expressed concerns over the three most popular candidates for an official national anthem of Scotland – Flower of Scotland, Scotland the Brave and Highland Cathedral. In his speech to the committee, he claimed Flower of Scotland is inappropriate because some of the sentiments that are expressed in it are jingoistic and anti-English; Scotland the Brave is inappropriate because, although it is a good tune, it does not have words that match the upbeat nature of the music; and Highland Cathedral is a good tune, but it has no words at all.

Tobias Clausnitzer (1619-1684) was a German Lutheran pastor and writer of theological treatises, sermons, and hymns. His best-known hymn, perhaps, is Liebster Jesu wir sind bier, translated to English and published as Blessed Jesus, at thy word by the English hymn-writer and educator Catherine Winkworth (1827-1878) in her Lyra Germanica — Hymns for the Sundays and Chief Festivals of the Christian Year, translated from the German (1858), and repeated in her Chorale Book for England (1863). Winkworth was also translator for Clausnitzer's Wir glauben all an einen Gott, Yater, Sohn und heilgen Geist (We all believe in one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost), a metrical paraphrase of the Apostles Creed designated for Trinity Sunday in the Culmbach-Bayreuth Gesang-Buch (1668). Winkworth also included this in her Chorale Book for England.This new musical setting, mostly in unison and briefly expanding to three-part harmony at the peak of each verse, is very singable by small and developing choirs composed of soprano, alto, and baritone/bass voices. The accompaniment, with sustained tones, is best realized on organ.The opening phrase, We all believe in one true God, may be sung by a solo male voice, similar to the opening intonation of a chanted canticle or psalm. The national anthem of ROC Taiwan was first used as the anthem for the whole of China when the country was controlled by the Kuomintang. However, in 1949 the Kuomintang government was ousted and relocated to the island of Taiwan to continue their government, using the same symbols of state that they used in mainland China. The anthem is informally known as San Min Chu I or San Min Zhu Yi (Three Principles of the People), though this name is never used in formal or official occasions. In chapter two of Paul's letter to the Philippians, Paul begins speaking to his readers about encouragement, comfort from love, participation in the Spirit, and godly affection and sympathy for one another. He says, we are to count others as more important than ourselves. He pleads, Complete my joy by doing these things. From this point, Paul breaks immediately into this other known 1st century Hymn to Christ (Verses 5-11), which I have called, The Great Humility of Christ. The hymn text is a beautiful exposition of the Gospel; Christ in the form of God, did not hold onto (grasp) His equality with God, but humbled Himself and took on the human form of a servant (slave) and poured Himself out for all of mankind. The anthem is composed for SATB (a cappella) choir in two stanzas, with a bridge section and a coda. The piece is scored in D minor, but weaves between D minor and G Major (representing the dual natures of Christ-fully God and fully man). After the first stanza, regarding Christ’s taking on human flesh, the unthinkable happens; Christ humbles Himself in holy obedience to be put to death, even a humiliating and repugnant death on a cross. Here in the anthem we find the musical bridge between the two stanzas with the sopranos holding onto a single note (high D) followed by a cascade of dissonant suspensions, one voice handing off to the other, finally resolving in a descending scale.The second stanza declares God’s having exalted Christ as a consequence of His sacrifice, giving Him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. The final coda (in G Major) trumpets the pronouncement that; Every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.
