String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1509156 By Keith Terrett. By Afonso Redentor Araújo, 1975. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Historic,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,Traditional,World. 11 pages. Keith Terrett #1084408. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1509156). Pátria (English: Fatherland) is the national anthem of East Timor. It was originally adopted when East Timor unilaterally declared its independence from Portugal in 1975. However, this usage would be short-lived, when the country was invaded by Indonesia. It was officially re-adopted when the independence of East Timor was finally restored in 2002 following a United Nations intervention. The music was composed by Afonso Redentor Araújo, and the words were written by the poet Francisco Borja da Costa, who was killed by Indonesian forces at the time of the invasion. It was originally sung exclusively in Portuguese, however there is now a Tetum version. The infraconstitutional officialization and the forms of ceremony of uses of the state anthem are regulated by the Law of the National Symbols of Timor-Leste.

Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3362511. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522106). Colin Kirkpatrick’s National Anthems Express  ANDORRA: Himne Andorra This quick and easy national anthem arrangement is essential for travelling musicians, bands, instrumental groups and both amateur and professional ensembles. You can play it with any virtually any combination of instruments: symphonic band, clarinet choir, brass ensemble, brass band, solos, duets and trios - almost anything! This arrangement is in six independent parts each transposed into a variety of keys. For the most satisfying sound you’ll need to get a good balance between each part possibly with an emphasis on the melodic line. If you have a non-standard ensemble, you can pick 'n' mix as required. The piano reduction can fill missing parts or can be used as the basis for an accompaniment. This arrangement consists of a three-page score with seven instrumental staves and three percussion staves. The following parts are printed on separate pages. The score and all the parts are contained in the same pdf file. Part 1 in B flat (clarinet, trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, soprano sax); Part 1 in C (glockenspiel, violin); Part 1 in E flat (alto sax, E flat clarinet); Part 1a in C (octave above concert for flute, piccolo, oboe, violin) and Part 1a in E flat (E flat cornet in brass band). Part 6 in B flat (B flat bass, bass clarinet); Part 6 in C (bass clef for bass trombone, bassoon, contrabassoon, tuba, double bass); Part 6 in E flat  (E flat bass, baritone sax). There’s also a part for timpani, percussion (3 players) and a piano reduction. The music is presented in pdf files at 1,200 dpi which can produce professional-looking printed copies on US letter-size paper. The arranger, Colin Kirkpatrick studied at London’s Royal College of Music and followed a career in music education. He was a High School Music Director for about fifteen years and later became a Music Education Adviser, with the added responsibility for training teachers and directing the instrumental teaching service.   He has published a great deal of music and his publishers include Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, Oxford University Press, Chester, Belwin Mills and Intrada (Netherlands). White Piano International Publishing #6696589. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.914981). OUR ROTARY (A New Song For Rotary International)Words & Music by ROBERT VAN HORNE6 PagesApprox. Performance Time: 3 minutesIn June 2005, while attending the annual International Rotary Convention in Chicago, I found myself enthralled and captivated by the many motivational speeches, the memorable ceremonies, and the heartfelt fellowship of the attendees from all over the world, who gathered to celebrate the one hundred year anniversary of the founding of Rotary International.Years later, it was brought to my attention that board members were exploring the idea of a new Rotarian Anthem. Remembering the extraordinary and enlightening experiences at the Chicago convention, I composed this song OUR ROTARY. It is dedicated to all the men and women who make up this very important and worthwhile organization. As my way of giving back, I present this song to Rotary International. Its continued beneficial contribution and service to the world is paramount...making the world a better place in which to live.Sheet music is also available at: The International Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians (IFRM) https://ifrm.orgRobert is a member of ASCAPRobert Van Horne Official Website: www.robertvanhorne.comEmail: rvh@robertvanhorne.com

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.532832 Composed by Therese Brenet. Contemporary. Score and parts. 29 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #45039. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.532832). This work uses wordless-vocalize (singing on Ah, Oh or with the mouth closed, ad libitum). The vocal part is generally quite free, allowing the singer to express herself freely. The orchestration is for tymp/perc/vibra/hp/cel/harps/strings(minimum : 44222) Like a supple vine, the voice seems to unfold across the orchestra, with the warm expressive themes and shining strings, with the support of the harpsichord, the vibraphone and other percussion. Certainly, there is a coloristic note in the orchestral palette, but also a wish to combine the colors of the voice and the orchestra in different manners. Through this osmosis and through the tempo rubato suggested several times, by the absence of metronomic movements, the composer has tried to create music which breathes through freedom, suppleness and poetry, in the infinite spirals of beauty and love, outside of space and time.. The orchestral version of the work was recorded in 2014 with Isaure Equilez, mezzo-soprano and the National Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of Paul Wehage The orchestral parts are available from the publisher on rental.

The music was composed by the German immigrant Fredrik Pacius, with words by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, and with this music it was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from Defence of Fort M'Henry, a poem written on September 14, 1814, by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbor during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the large American flag, the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the American victory. Jari Villanueva earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Music from Kent State University, Ohio. He retired from the US Air Force Band in Washington DC where he spent 23 years as a trumpeter, bugler and staff arranger. He started his publishing company JV MUSIC in 1995. A student of Bill Holcombe, he continues writing for different ensembles and his arrangements are played by bands, brass ensembles and brass quintets all over the country. Small Ensemble Timpani,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977352 By Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra. By Moises Simons. Arranged by Des McNutty. Contemporary. Score and parts. 12 pages. Des Press #6438143. Published by Des Press (A0.977352). Part of the series A Pulchritudinous Posy of Pleasing Party-PiecesA few fancies for five-part natural trumpet ensemble* with optional timpani. At last: Some new repertoire for the historical natural trumpet! This one-handed instrument was familiar to composers such as JS Bach, Handel, Telemann, Purcell, Vivaldi etc., but was largely neglected after the invention of valves in the early 19th century - and the subsequent invention of the nodal vent-hole systems in the late 20th-century - until recently, when the elusive lost art of clarino playing (in the fourth octave and above) was cracked by dedicated optimists such as Don L Smithers and JF Madeuf. These arrangements are a stylistic departure from the trumpet's golden age of Baroque repertoire, featuring works well known in the 20th century, and provide excellent training for rhythmic precision, style, pitching and team playing. They're also fun, if you like that sort of thing. Advice on tuning up the differently-pitched instruments and a technical tip are included. The current regulations on SMP mean us little guys can only publish in-copyright works one at a time. So, you can collect them all and make yourself a tome!  These arrangements were originally written for Lunchtime Tower Music (weather permitting), at the Dartington International Summer School between roughly 2000 and 2010, for courses led by Michael Laird and David Staff. Such performances from the mediæval clock tower involved the various brass and other wind classes playing seriously with an informal atmosphere. Logistical issues, a narrow staircase and the ubiquitous Health-and-Safety regulations prevented the use of timpani on the tower but sometimes larger groups, and those involving vertigo sufferers, played in the courtyard instead. These pieces are the opposite of playing Baroque music on modern, or postmodern instruments. Get them all now and enjoy a refreshing change! Enjoy! DM

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.933611 Composed by John Stafford Smith. Arranged by Thomas Coker. Folk,Patriotic. Octavo. 4 pages. Thomas Rembert Coker Jr #3503513. Published by Thomas Rembert Coker Jr (A0.933611). In 2009 when Sanctuary Choir of South Main Baptist Church in Houston where I served as Music Minister was scheduled to sing the National Anthem for the Houston Astros baseball game, I carefully examined the several arrangements in our library and other resources. Finding nothing which met the simple, straight-forward criteria I was searching for, we created this simple arrangement. Since its addition to the music library it has proven very useful on numerous occasions for a variety of groups. About the National Anthem:The lyrics for The Star-Spangled Banner were written on September 14, 1814 from a British ship in the Baltimore Harbor where attorney Francis Scott Key had waited anxiously through the night as the twenty-five hour bombing of Ft. McHenry progressed. He had been sent to negotiate the release of an American civilian and then was held on board the ship.  At the dawn’s early light when the flag could still be seen indicating the British had not taken the fort, he jotted down this poem which on March 3, 1931 finally became the National Anthem of the United States. Interestingly, it was Robert Ripley who in November of 1929 drew a panel in his syndicated cartoon, Ripley’s Believe It or Not stating Believe It or Not, America has no national anthem. With the encouragement of John Philip Sousa, President Herbert Hoover signed into law the adoption of The Star-Spangled Banner to rectify this situation. According to the Smithsonian, the melody, written by John Stafford Smith, was originally titled Anacreon in Heaven. Anacreon was an ancient Greek poet known for his love of wine and love. The song had become the constitutional song of a London gentlemen’s club called the Anacreontic Society. Could this explain the wide range of the melody? By utilizing this tune to the moving text, this once merry drinking song took on a bold new and powerful meaning. Thomas Coker, August 27, 2015

Flute Solo,Soprano Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1289764 Composed by Adrian Dee. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. Individual part. 10 pages. Adrian Dee #880461. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.1289764). I was thinking about all the ways in which we could not breathe in 2020 - George Floyd's last words, the COVID-19 pandemic putting us all on masks and respirators, the wildfires filling our homes with smoke, the racism that has silenced so many for so long. I thought it would be interesting to write a piece with all that in mind for flute, an instrument which is, of course, all about breathing.  The piece is one movement with four sections: George Floyd, Protests, Respirators, and Wildfires. It runs approximately 9 to 10 minutes, at the performer’s discretion. It requires some improvisation, a few special effects (multiphonics, use of voice, jet whistle), some serious breath control, and a lot of energy. The performer is asked to breathe in specific ways, to make the audience aware of the breathing, and to become uncomfortably short of breath.  There is also optional use of electronic Loop for layering voices in the final section. This piece was premiered by Anthony Trionfo at the National Flute Association convention, Aug. 4, 2023.  Check out the Youtube link for an exciting performance. This is an intensely emotional piece and unlike my other compositions. I'd love to hear your feedback: adriandeeflute@gmail.com.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.740291 Composed by Smith, John Stafford. Arranged by Craig Garner. Folk,Graduation,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 31 pages. Dorm 40 Music #6352917. Published by Dorm 40 Music (A0.740291). The Star-Spangled Banner was not officially recognized as the National Anthem of the United States until an act of Congress in 1931. Prior to that, the US War Department designated the song as the National Anthem in 1917, at least for the military. But, in 1917, the was no standardized version of the Star-Spangled Banner for military bands to perform. Two separate committees were formed to create standardized versions of the Star-Spangled Banner, one sanctioned for the military, and the other for non-military use. This unique arrangement contains four historic versions of the Star-Spangled Banner: 1917 Service Version, 1918 Standardized Version, John Philip Sousa’s arrangement from 1889, and the Department of Defense Edition from 1955. All four versions are similar, yet surprisingly different in the harmonic and rhythmic treatment of the melody. In addition, the arrangement includes each part in both concert B-Flat and A-flat (A-flat being the preferred key used for singing). Play them all, or just pick the one you like the best. Scored for brass quintet (2 B-flat trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba). The Star-Spangled is appropriate for almost any occasion. Published by Dorm 40 Music, www.dorm40music.com

Patriotic. 4 pages. Keith Terrett #802515. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1203942). The Japanese National Anthem arranged for Violin & Cello.Kimigayo (å›ãŒä»£, Japanese pronunciation: [kimiÉ¡ajo]; His Imperial Majesty's Reign) is the national anthem of Japan. The lyrics are from a waka poem written by an unnamed author in the Heian period (794–1185), and the current melody was chosen in 1880, replacing an unpopular melody composed by John William Fenton eleven years earlier. While the title Kimigayo is usually translated as His Imperial Majesty's Reign, no official translation of the title or lyrics has been established in law. From 1888 to 1945, Kimigayo served as the national anthem of the Empire of Japan. When the Empire was dissolved following its surrender at the end of World War II, the State of Japan succeeded it in 1945. This successor state was a parliamentary democracy, and the polity therefore changed from a system based on imperial sovereignty to one based on popular sovereignty. However, the U.S. occupation forces allowed Emperor Hirohito to retain the throne and Kimigayo remained the de facto national anthem. The passage of the Act on National Flag and Anthem in 1999 recognized it as the official national and imperial anthem.Original version: John William Fenton, 1869Current version: Yoshiisa Oku and Akimori Hayashi (arranged by Franz Eckert), 1880.
