C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.499608 Composed by E.Y. Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Film/TV,Jazz,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland. Arlen would often carry blank pieces of music manuscript in his pockets to jot down short melodic ideas. He described how the inspiration for the melody to Over the Rainbow came to him suddenly while his wife Anya drove: I said to Mrs. Arlen... 'let's go to Grauman's Chinese ... You drive the car, I don't feel too well right now.' I wasn't thinking of work. I wasn't consciously thinking of work, I just wanted to relax. And as we drove by Schwab's Drug Store on Sunset I said, 'Pull over, please.' ... And we stopped and I really don't know why—bless the muses—and I took out my little bit of manuscript and put down what you know now as 'Over the Rainbow.'.

The Tennessee TwoIII. My JuneIV. Hello, I’m Johnny CashPiano Trio No. 1 (Poets and Prophets) was composed by Mark O’Connor during the Fall of 2003. The piece was commissioned for the Eroica Trio by a noted patron for music, Kathryn Gould of Palo Alto, California. The world premiere took place at the Montalvo Chamber Music Series in California, March 5th, 2004. In a letter to the members of the trio dated 9/20/03, Mr. O’Connor lays out his plan for the new music. My initial ideas have sort of exploded in to the entire concept of the music with a real impact actually. Now I am piecing together the parts of it and then will eventually work on detail as I get the overall form under wrap. Here is what my inspiration for the music is; Johnny Cash.Johnny was a boyhood hero of mine, I used to sing his songs when I was 8, 9 and 10 years old, and played the guitar like him (sometimes up the fretboard strumming away). My mom used to help me transcribe all the lyrics off the albums, she also thought he hung the moon.                                                                                         As you can imagine, the passing of Cash for me this last week has been emotional. I am at my very best when I compose with my emotions at my sleeve, and guess what, it is time to do the Eroica piece. And I believe I will be able to craft a very unique tribute in to the form of a Piano Trio. There is something that is very fitting in all of this though. Cash was one of the few country music and rockabilly musicians to appeal to all ages, all types of people all the way into the MTV generation which is something that is hard to fathom. That one person can move musical mountains with his charisma and his voice. He sung about the prisons, riding the trains, about killing, and living, about lost love, about the gospel, about the downtrodden and the Native American, and about being stoned. His musical sound was the thing that got everybody though. He developed along with his guitar player Luther Perkins, a new and vibrant way to bring the music out.I also knew Johnny and worked with him, visited him privately at his home. Johnny also appeared on my album called Heroes, where he brought back the great story of the Devil coming down to Georgia to challenge young Johnny for the golden fiddle. My job now is to bridge what I am feeling about my inspiration for Cash, and bring it in to the instruments that I love writing for.I might not have imagined that this Johnny Cash concept would have worked out of hand, if it hadn’t been for your musicianship, insight fullness and graceful approaches in to the details of musical concepts and style. If the piece is good, then I will have no doubt that you will bring it to the forefront so others can grasp the intentions of the work, and in addition for others to enjoy playing it after you have brought it all out in to the open, and gave it a life. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 2003 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCan be heard on An American Journey by the Eroica Trio, Angel RecordsMark O’Connor Piano Trio with Soyeon Lee and Soo Bae soon to be released on OMAC Records Catalogue Number.

Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.870538 By Imagine Dragons. By Alexander Grant, Benjamin McKee, Daniel Reynolds, and Daniel Sermon. Arranged by Christina Fordham. Rock. Score. 7 pages. Christina Fordham Vera #5214523. Published by Christina Fordham Vera (A0.870538). This is a beginner solo piano arrangement of Imagine Dragon's hit song On Top of the World.  Although it offer musicians a simplified right hand melody and and beginning left hand accompaniment, it includes the whole song with its complete lyrics! As a professional pianist and piano instructor, I have found that many arrangements of this song are still too difficult for my beginner to early intermediate students with complicated left hand chords or patterns.  And if they are simplified, they leave out a portion of the song or do not include the lyrics. I've created this arrangement to bridge the gap between sounding like the original and being accessible for beginning to intermediate piano players. I've included explicit fingering suggestions with special attention to right hand moves so beginner students can master their favorite hit songs.  I hope you enjoy!

Small Ensemble Baritone Saxophone,Bass Saxophone,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533585 Composed by Carson Cooman. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 15 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3029121. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533585). Polpis Dreaming (2002) for contrabass saxophone and piano was commissioned for and isdedicated to Jay C. Easton. The work was inspired by Easton's championing of the more unusual members of the saxophone family, particularly the contrabass with its incredibly powerful and deep sound.  This work is recorded on Easton's SoLow CD.The title refers to Polpis, a region of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts that borders Nantucket Harbor with a variety of smaller inlets. This work is one of a variety of pieces connected to the landscape of Nantucket. In the case of this piece, the extra-musical image was one of the incredible depth of the ocean (perhaps parallel to the depth of the contrabass saxophone's sound) slowly being explored/achieved through the means of inlets. The work's basic material comes from the saxophone's opening gesture, which moves upwardfrom the bottom of the instrument. The pitch material and interval content that are transformed throughout the work are presented in that motion. The first section of the work is declamatory, with lyric impulses. The material of the work is unfolded as the sounds of the piano's resonance, combined with the tone of the contrabass saxophone are explored. A faster middle section occurs next in which the harmonic gestures and transformations are always moving towards greater consonance. After the middle section, there is a return to the mood of the opening, although the material of the middle section also appears in transformation.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1470457 Composed by Alan Edgar. 20th Century. 94 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #1048177. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.1470457). The PRINCE & the FIREBIRD: Baritone, with String Quartet, optional Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Double Bass.  My version of the Slavic fairy tale which exists in many forms. Ogor, an immortal, evil Czar-wizard, stole children, pretended they were his princes and princesses but controlled and punished them with spells. He sent our hero Prince Ivan to capture the firebird which had been pecking at the Castle's golden apples. He faced many challenges, but he was helped by a wolf who turns out to be Princess Lenka under a spell. When the firebird was captured, it made a deal with Ivan and with its magic helped him deal with the Czar. Ivan, Lenka and the Kingdom are happy ever after.I attempted to create an exotic sound-world by using throughout the Hungarian Gypsy scale.
