Avenue Blue is a fun and funky jazz tune written for early intermediate students. The piece features a repetitive, rhythmic groove with RH playing the melody and LH providing the bass. It sounds similar to hits from Herbie Hancock and several other pioneers in the funk genre. Avenue Blue primarily uses quarter notes and eighth-notes.

The tango is a musical genre and social dance form which originated towards the end of the 19th century. It is characterised by its two-beat emphasis over four (dos por cuatro) time signatures and is often based on repeated patterns such as ABAB or ABCAC.

Ã�ngel Villoldo (16 February 1861 -14 October 1919) was an Argentinian born musician who was one of the pioneers of the tango. 

This piece has been arranged from the original score to be performed as a recital piece for accompanied flute. It is suitable for a student studying at grade 4 -5 level, and is an ideal piece to aid sight reading of syncopated rhythm.

�ngel G. Villoldo (1861-1919) is considered one of the pioneers of Argentine tango. His Tango criollo El choclo (The Corncob), which appeared in Buenos Aires in 1903, is one of the earliest compositions of the new musical genre and soon spread to Europe. It is a catchy piece of music, a real earworm, and is published here in a version for violin and piano, for fun music in the chamber music frame or as an encore in a concert.
