The original text is by the composer. Although the original was for women's chorus and mixed chorus, this version is for SSAATBB chorus alone. Extensive instructions are provided for the ethereal aleatoric section, addressing stage placement, dynamics, use of a solo group, and how the piece should end. Duration 4:40.

This is a big piece with much emotion about the Resurrection.  Words are directly taken from I Thessalonians 4
It is inspirational and the focal point of all Christian religion--the Resurrection
Because it is scripture set to music it is appropriate for all Christian organizations
Brass and Timpani/Drums could be added for emphasis (though I have not specifically written those parts--they are rather obvious!)
Please excuse the MP3 quality.  I did not have a choir to record my piece and cannot sing bass or tenor properly.  This is just to give you an idea of the sound and really needs a full size choir to perform. 
It takes about 6 minutes to perform and ends on a very big high!

Originally published in John Gardner Carols, this well-loved text by James Montgomery is given a joyful full-bodied texture with unison verses. With the refrain sung by up to three choral groups, this carol can be flexibly performed and variety is wholly encouraged!

This arrangement is a great way to involve a soloist or unison choir with a string orchestra playing pop music. It is a good choice for helpijg to break the stereotypes around string groups. It is also an effective showcase piece, and if you're brave enough to add some choreography, it is bound to leave your audience on the edge of their seats!

The arrangement is realatively easy and quick to learn, as it is built around a few core rhythmic patterns. There may be a little more effort for beginners, but it is well within their capabilities, and the key of A Minor has been chosen deliberately to be as accessible as possible to both singers and string players.
