There is also a video of Charlie Davis performing it at a concert in London with Buddy’s band. It’s not an easy solo for the featured trumpet player but for those who haven the chops, I believe it will prove to be a real crowd pleaser. As with all of the new issues of the charts I’ve done for Buddy, I’ve added a 4th trombone part and have included a drum part. I’ve also written out a suggested bass part for ensembles that prefer to have that in the part. Electric bass is important to the overall sound of the piece but an amplified accoustic bass could suffice. Try to avoid the temptation to speed up the tempo and go with the suggested tempo markings.
