Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.778737 Composed by Don Hodell Chilcote. Arranged by Don Hodell Chilcote. Christian,Film/TV,Gospel,Jazz,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Don Hodell Chilcote #2163033. Published by Don Hodell Chilcote (A0.778737). Eternal Father Strong To Save - Ensemble is for piano solo or ensemble. This is a fathers day tune or patriotic tune set in distinctive quartal combo band setting uniquely different than the original hymn with a great funky vibe. The piece has an distinct and unique setting, developments, and vamps. 4 page arrangement is challenging but not overly so, and well worth the effort to learn. Fun tune to learn and improve over. I used it in church for a prelude and it was well received with a jamming drummer. Fun Stuff.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956650 Composed by C M von Weber. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Concert,Holiday,Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. 8 pages. C Melville-Mason #6505727. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956650). March of the Hunters features in the opera Der Freischütz, which is possibly the best known work by the German Romantic composer Carl Maria von Weber (1786 – 1926).  The story is based on an old folk tale and tells of a marksman who, desperate to win the hand of the lady he loves in a shooting contest, obtains some magic bullets which cannot fail to hit their target.  One of these, however, is entirely under the control of the Devil…This arrangement is for semi-flexible mixed woodwind quartet of 2 flutes, oboe and either B-flat clarinet or bassoon.  Well within the scope of intermediate-level players, it can be used as a recital piece, as part of a programme of light background music at a wedding or function, or just enjoyed as general repertoire.

Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1515104 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas. 106 pages. Connie Boss #1089606. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1515104). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star.  The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where     Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see.  This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an SA duet with SSAA choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie BossI didn't have a minimum copy, so you can make copies of this. This is why I have it priced at this price. For questions or requests, email Cdboss@cvalley.net.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.733036 Composed by John Stafford Smith. Arranged by Theodore Moses-Tobani. Contemporary. Score and parts. 36 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #2347485. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733036). German-born Theodore Moses Tobani was a composer arranger and violinist mostly in Philadelphia. He is said to have composed more than 550 pieces and made over 4500 arrangements. At times he used various pseudonyms such as Florence Reed, Andrew Herman and Theodore Moses under which many of his works were published. This version of The Star-Spangled Banner was the encore piece of a work he called Grand American Fantasia a medley of American songs that was first published in 1906 (when The Banner was still referred to as the unofficial American hymn.) In his arrangement Moses-Tobani wrote (what I call) flying woodwinds--the flutes and clarinets are racing through the skies while the rest of the band plays their boring parts. The words to The Banner are from the poem Defense of Ft. McHenry by Francis Scott Key; the music is derived from To Anacreon in Heaven a popular British and American pub song by John Stafford Smith.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942885 Composed by James W. Knox. Contemporary. Octavo. 21 pages. Knox Music #6383215. Published by Knox Music (A0.942885). THE PARTING BEFORE THE BATTLE was written by Thomas Moore (1779-1852) an Irish writer, poet and lyricist celebrated for his Irish Melodies. He is best remembered for the lyrics of The Minstrel Boy and The Last Rose of Summer and one of the first recognized champions of freedom in Ireland. As an impressionable young man with a quick Irish temper, the execution of a close college friend during the United Irishmen's Rebellion aroused in Moore a patriotic fervor that provided his greatest literary inspiration. Thomas Moore's best known work included a brilliant biographical masterpiece taken from the confidential memoirs of Lord Byron. His own Memoirs, Journal, and Correspondence are an invaluable social record of life in England and Ireland during the first half of the nineteenth century. James W. Knox, composer, depicts a battle of the brave Irish men and women who have courageously fought against those who seek destruction. The chorus should sing with great boldness and display a sense of honorable pride. To create a dramatic affect, James also used Erse or Gaelic with an ancient proverb, Ní neart go cur le chéile. (There is no strength without unity.) This text is used throughout the piece in addition to the poem. The proverb is set to the melody of Dies irae , which is a famous Gregorian chant dating back to the 13th century and is found as part of the Latin sequence in the Requiem. .
