As a composer in the Romantic period, his music tends to be dramatic and emotional. He is most famous for his ballets, one of them being The Nutcracker. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is the third movement of the second act of The Nutcracker ballet. The ballet choreographer, Marius Petipa wanted the music to sound like water dripping from a fountain. Tchaikovsky achieved this by featuring a brand new instrument at the time which looked like a piano but sounded like bells--the celesta. This arrangement is for clarinet in A , cello, and piano, with the original celesta part performed on the piano The clarinet and cello parts are reductions of the original orchestral parts. In case an A clarinet is not available, the re is also an alternate part transcribed for B â™­ clarinet Special attention should be paid to matching articulation and balancing dynamics between melody, countermelody, and accompaniment parts.

As filled with a sense of hopelessness that O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is, this prelude is brimming with unbridled joy; from the thunderous opening to the bell-ringing ending. With influences ranging from Handel to Mannheim Steamroller, I wanted to write something that expresses the full glory of this hymn. While the hymn itself has 7 verses, I only chose to use four of them including the fifth verse referencing Sinners…doomed for guilt to endless pains where I moved to a minor key before coming back for the final verse and a return to the musical material of the opening.

S-SB (III) sounds more difficult than it actually is. I wanted the piece to be interesting but not so far outside as to wake up Miles Davis. I think you will find the dissonance and syncopation interesting without upsetting. It is my favorite of the five arragements I have created. It does go to 3/4 for a couple of measures but that just wakes people up. If you have an excellent high school choir, you'll have no problem with this one. We start with the Lannisters theme (the Rains of Castamere) on cello, later accompanied by viola. A general crescendo leaves us with the main theme, transcribed as best as possible from Ramin Djawadi's masterful header. The violin can do pizz on the last phrase, or not play it at all. This is the 6th in the series of pretty, technical exercises for the emerging flutist.  Letter A is the melody and letter B is a duet part for you to play with your friends.  Letters C and D are technical exercises of arpeggios and scales.  Letter E lets you practice double tonguing.  Letter F is long phrases and if you wanted to treat them as long tones it is even better!  Letter G lets you practice beginning trill fingering, particularly that tricky alternate fingering between middle d and e.  I think this is a lovely song and I find that it stays in my ear and I 'hear' it in my mind's ear throughout the day.  It's lovely.
