Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802616 By Johnny Cash. By Stan Jones. Arranged by Arthur Jesse & Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Peet du Toit #6023995. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802616). The song tells a folk tale of a cowboy who has a vision of red-eyed, steel-hooved cattle thundering across the sky, being chased by the spirits of damned cowboys. One warns him that if he does not change his ways, he will be doomed to join them, forever trying to catch the Devil's herd across these endless skies. The story has been linked with old European myths of the Wild Hunt, in which a supernatural group of hunters passes the narrator in wild pursuit.Stan Jones stated that he had been told the story when he was 12 years old by an old Native American who resided north-east of the Douglas, Arizona border town, a few miles behind D Hill, north of Agua Prieta, Sonora. The Native Americans, possibly Apache, who lived within Cochise County, believed that when souls vacate their physical bodies, they reside as spirits in the sky, resembling ghost riders. He related this story to Wayne Hester, a boyhood friend (later owner of the Douglas Cable Company). As both boys were looking at the clouds, Stan shared what the old Native American had told him, looking in amazement as the cloudy shapes were identified as the ghost riders that years later, would be transposed into lyrics. The melody is based on the song When Johnny Comes Marching Home.

This led to The Pink Panther series of cartoons. The Pink Panther then went on to appear at the beginning of most of The Pink Panther Movies. This is a great arrangement for solo piano and suits an easier level of piano than the original composition.

Choral Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.801665 Composed by Unknown. Arranged by Connie Boss. Celtic,Christmas,Irish,Multicultural,Sacred,World. Score. 9 pages. Connie Boss #6383851. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801665). This is a medley of 3 Christmas Carols - In the Bleak Mid Winter (English), Gesu Bambino (Italian) and The Snow Lay on the Ground (Irish). Venite Adoremus means O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord. I thought it sounded nice to have it in SATB parts - taking turns between the high and low voices and then all together. cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics Below:O Come Let Us Adore Him (Venite Adoremus, Dominum)   (Medley of In the Bleak Midwinter, Gesu Bambino and The Snow Lay on the Ground   In the bleak midwinter, frosty winds made moan Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone Snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow. In the bleak midwinter, long, long, ago.   When blossoms flower amid the snow, upon a winter night Was born the Child, the Christmas Rose, The King of Love and Light.   Venite Adoremus, Dominum Venite Adoremus, Dominum   Twas Mary daughter pure of Holy Anne. That brought into this world the God made man She laid Him in a stall at Bethlehem. The ass and oxen shared the roof with Him.   Again the heart with rapture glows, to greet the Holy night. That gave the world it’s Christmas Rose, it’s King of Love and Light   Venite Adoremus, Dominum Venite Adoremus, Dominum   And thus that manger poor became a throne, for He whom Mary bore was God the Son O come then let us join the heav’nly host to praise the Father, Son and Holy Ghost   O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord   O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord Venite Adoremus, Dominum!

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1298967 Composed by Ian Calvert. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Score. 7 pages. Ian Calvert #888817. Published by Ian Calvert (A0.1298967). This is the first publication of a new Christmas song, set for baritone and piano. The words are those of a poem by Leonard Clark (1905 – 1981), an English poet who was raised in The Forest of Dean, in the west of England. In 1972 he published a slim little book of Christmas poems, of which ‘Singing in the Streets’ is one, surely one of the most appealing of Christmas poems. It gives its name to the book. The poem tells of an older man revisiting the village of his boyhood, and wondering whether, somehow, the streets still hold the sound of the carols that he and the other boys and girls sang there. It begins: ‘I had almost forgotten the singing in the streets,Snow piled up by the houses, drifting Underneath the door into the warm room, …’ It is very evocative of that time and of the magic that Christmas always holds for children. Drawn from the same book of poems there is available another new Christmas song, called The Birth; that one is set in two versions, one for voice and piano and the other for SATB a cappella. Ian Calvert.
