1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127872 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score. 12 pages. Philip Le Bas #728481. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1127872). Incidental music composed for piano duet (4-hands) in four parts by Philip Le Bas to accompany the Japanese folk tale (ghost story) Yuki-Onna (Snow Woman). This piano duet developed out of a cross-cultural project initiated at Morley College, London, in early 2019, aiming to create a melodrama for piano solo and spoken voice to be performed in northern Japan later in the year by young students of the piano. It is based on the ghost-story above, which is widely known in Japan. The tale was transcribed and published by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo) in 1904 as part of his book “Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Thingsâ€, a collection that has been highly influential in expressing popular Japanese culture over the past century. Synopsis of the tale of Yuki-Onna: Two wood-cutters, Mosaku and his apprentice Minokichi, encounter a terrible snow-storm and take shelter in an empty hut by a river. The storm gets worse and worse, but they both finally fall asleep. When Minokichi wakes, he sees a woman all in white bending over Mosaku breathing bright white smoke onto his face. She then approaches Minokichi. She is very beautiful, but her eyes make him afraid. After a while she says, “I intended to do the same to you as I did to the old man, but I feel pity for you because you are a pretty young man. If you ever tell anybody what you have seen, however, I will kill you too.†And she vanishes into the snow storm. It is then that Minokichi discovers Mosaku dead on the floor of the hut. Years later Minokichi meets a beautiful girl, who calls herself O-Yuki. He falls in love with her and they live together in his house, along with his mother, who fortunately takes a liking to her new “honourable daughter-in-law.†Over the years O-Yuki gives birth to ten children and the villagers all agree that she is a wonderful person. But she is somehow different from them, as she continues to look young and fresh, despite the passing years. Minokichi often thinks of telling O-Yuki about the events of years ago, and eventually, as he is gazing at her beauty one night, he can resist it no more. He begins to tell her about the snow storm and the terrifying snow-woman. To his horror O-Yuki becomes more and more angry, and she finally says: “It was me, it was me,… and I said I would kill you if you ever told anyone! But for these children asleep here, I would do so this very moment! You had better take very good care of them; for if ever they have reason to complain of you, I will treat you as you deserve!†As she screams at him her voice becomes thin, like the crying of the wind, and she melts into a bright white mist spiraling into the roof-beams. At that moment it starts to snow, but O-Yuki is never seen again.

No other gift lends God’s pure embrace. No other gift, no other vowed gift guides all to Him and saves us from sin.No other gift than Jesus’ blessed course rescues a soul from cripp’ling remorse. No other life, no, no other man suffered to give us God’s perfect plan.No other eyes viewed what He foresaw. No other life can heal ev’ry flaw.No other life redeems all who fall; no other life was given for all.No other life can cure ev’ry pain. No other life has suffered for gain.No other gift, no, no other gift proves his great love; He came from above. No other gift can save us today; He is the One who’s shown us the way.All for our sakes He came from above, bearing great love. He gives us his love.No other gift, there’s no greater gift than Jesus Christ, our Savior . . . the Christ.

Choral Choir (4-Part) - Digital Download SKU: A0.885590 Composed by Michael E. Ekbladh. Christian,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 203 pages. Michael E. Ekbladh #32723. Published by Michael E. Ekbladh (A0.885590). The Psalms speak to us through centuries of despair and hope. Just as todayâ??s believers use the psalms to express their faith, so did the believers of centuries past. Originally titled I Cry to Thee, this work was commissioned by the Brazos Valley Chorale in the spring of 1998 and was first performed with choir and piano in May of the same year. This is the recording you will hear. The orchestration followed six years later in the spring of 2004 with the first full performance on May 23, 2004. Mass for the Soul possesses five structural elements from the psalms of lament: the address (and introductory petition), lament, confession of trust, petition, and vow of praise. It is this structure that forms the five movements. The way out of the depths begins in the possibility of prayer and the awareness that only the One who hears that prayer can draw us out of the depths. So the self that is caught in its iniquities cries out because of the need for forgiveness and because with God forgiveness is possible. [Interpreting the Psalms by Patrick Miller] Choral Score also available (MEE9800CS).

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1007057 Composed by Johnson Gao. Concert,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,World. Octavo. 7 pages. Johnson Gao #6645107. Published by Johnson Gao (A0.1007057). The Arrow and the Song Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (February 27, 1807 – March 24, 1882) I shot an arrow into the air,It fell to earth, I knew not where; For, so swiftly it flew, the sight Could not follow it in its flight. I breathed a song into the air,It fell to earth, I knew not where; For who has sight so keen and strong, That it can follow the flight of song? Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke; And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1083639 By Vanessa Williams. By Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Children,Film/TV. 11 pages. C Melville-Mason #687846. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.1083639). A charming arrangement of Academy Award-winning song ‘Colors of the Wind’, for woodwind trio of flute, clarinet and bassoon. Although the parts are, for the most part, not technically challenging, the piece has been classed as ‘intermediate’ in standard. It requires three players who are confident about holding their own line, while being sensitive to how this fits within the ensemble as a whole. ‘Colors of the Wind’ was the first song written for the Walt Disney film ‘Pocahontas’ and apparently had a significant influence on the way in which the rest of the film developed. Judy Kuhn provided the vocals in the original, although the song has since been covered by various artists, most notably by Vanessa Williams.
