String Quartet String Quartet,Viola - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004728 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Adrian Gagiu. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score and parts. 205 pages. Adrian Gagiu #6365523. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1004728). This composition is a premiere, speculative, yet as faithful as possible embodiment of all of Beethoven’s sketches for his String Quintet in C major, Hess 41 (WoO 62), as they have been left by the composer. The usefulness and integrity of more or less hypothetical completions of sketches by great composers remains from case to case controversial. Due to the paucity of the sketches for the aim of attempting a true reconstruction, the present composition in no way falls within such category. It is obviously quite different from what Beethoven himself would have produced if he had lived more, also due to the fact that he usually transformed his preliminary sketches substantially during the compositional process. However, there are some of his frequent, subtle thematic relationships between the sketches for the Quintet movements, and probably some features in the sketches would have been kept in the completed composition. The four-movement design hypothesized by Martin Staehelin and others, as well as other retrospective or relaxed features in the sketches may be a result of a still early stage of the compositional process, or perhaps an indicator of a fourth, neoclassical creative period, together with Op. 135 and the new Finale for Op. 130.To generate a continuity draft of the Quintet, all of Beethoven’s sketches for it were used, with the addition of several ones from the same context within the respective sketchbook and which could be related to the identified Quintet sketches: some sketches are clearly labeled as being for the Quintet, while others are thematically related or written down close to them. With the possible exception of bars 75-94 and 136-155 in movement II (which are variations on the theme) and bars 140-145 in movement IV (which fill in the blank bars in the sketch with a progression based on it), virtually every bar of this composition includes the notes from the sketches in at least one of the instruments. Some of those notes were subject to transpositions and adaptations to fit the formal design, and to editorial choices for the unclear pitches and duration in the sketches. This publication includes the score, parts and continuity draft, the latter being marked with the sources in the sketches for each passage.Total duration: 33 minutes. The mp3 audio clip is the 3rd movement. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316582 By Stacey Plays Hymns. By W. Romanis / Stacey Plays Hymns. Arranged by Anastace. A Cappella,Christian,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. 4 pages. Anastace #905306. Published by Anastace (A0.1316582). This beautiful evening hymn is a perfect pairing of a solemn, contemplative melody with uplifting, scriptural lyrics that remind us of the hope we have in Christ, in this life and the next. I found this song in a very old hymnbook, so old that you could feel the raised print on the page, and loved the lyrics so much and felt that a minor melody would suit it extraordinarily well. This piece works well as a choir anthem for funerals or for any evensong themed service, and is written in a comfortable, singable range for everyday singers. It works well either with a soft organ accompaniment or a capella, to showcase the rich vocal harmony reminiscent of Elaine Hagenburg or John Rutter. For other formats including large print or special congregtional versions contact me at staceyplayshymns@gmail.com and I'll be glad to make them especially for you. Please let me know if there is any other way I can serve you as a congregation or fellow music/choir director as I endeavour to write several new choral anthems per year, along with my other recording work.Thank you for supporting modern hymnwriters and musicians! As heard on YouTube!

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431316 By Keith Terrett. By Petur Alberg. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Keith Terrett #1011784. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1431316). An arrangement of the Faroese National Anthem for Piano.Tú alfagra land mítt (Thou fairest land of mine), officially Mítt alfagra land (My fairest land), is the national anthem of the Faroe Islands. It was written in 1906 by headteacher Símun av Skarði, and the melody was composed in 1907 by violinist Petur Alberg. The song was written in a work dated 1 February 1906 by Símun av Skarði, the headmaster of a high school in Føgrulið, southwest of Klaksvík. It was written during a time of strong division in the Faroe Islands between conservatives who wanted to preserve Danish rule and autonomists who wanted more self-government, of which Símun was the latter.Violinist Petur Alberg wrote the first notes of the music of the anthem on 4 September 1907, after the melody came to him that evening. He later sang the melody down the phone in the Løgting to Símun av Skarði, who liked it. Petur then sent it to a music teacher he knew in Akureyri, Iceland, and to asked him to harmonise it for a male quartet. In October 1907, the male quartet arrangement arrived, and singers began to practice it for a Boxing Day concert in Sloan's Hall in Tórshavn. Petur, not daring to reveal the song's author, told the singers the song was Icelandic, by a certain Jón Sveinsson. However, the singers liked the song. The song was performed at the concert on 26 December 1907, which was the first time any song by Petur had been performed publicly and the first time Tú alfagra land mítt was performed publicly. On 8 January 1908, Tú alfagra land mítt was published in the Faroese newspaper Tingakrossur. It was then published in the Lesibók, a literary history in chronological order, in 1911. It was later published in many editions of the Songbók Føroya fólks (Faroese People's Songbook), generally in the number one position, from 1913 through 1959.In 1925, a Nynorsk translation of the song by Rolf Hjort Schøgen was published in the Tingakrossur. In 1928, a Danish translation by university student Tormod Jørgensen was published in Højskolebladet No. 7928.[1][2] An Icelandic translation by Jochum M. Eggertsson appeared in the magazine Dvöl in 1935. The same year, a German translation by Ernst Krenn was published in the Føroyaheftið (Faroese Instalment), a Faroese booklet at the Nordic Society in Vienna, Austria. In 1943, an English translation by Padre G. C. C. Knowleson was featured in the notes of the magazine The Pioneer by some British soldiers in the Faroe Islands during World War II. As the national anthem Tú alfagra land mítt won out in a rivalry with Eg oyggjar veit (I know some islands), from 1877, on which song should become the national anthem of the Faroe Islands. Tú alfagra land mítt has been sung at all festivals in the Faroe Islands, and it has been in the psalm book of the Faroese Church since 1990. The national radio station Útvarp Føroya, established in 1957, played it every night before ending its broadcast for the evening.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158195 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional. 41 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758471. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158195). A hypercube is a theoretical cuboid-like fourth-dimensional object. In an attempt to explain spatial dimentions, I created an 18-minute video presentation titled “Dimensions Unfurled†exposing some initial fallacies of common thought, which can be seen on YouTube. All of the music for the above-mentioned video is original. There are two trumpet duets in the section that depicts a hypercube net folding into a hypercube model, starting at 13’20†and 14’51, respectively. Both duets are published in a collection titled “Fifteen-Course Dinner for Two†(available through Gilded Music Press). The two duets share thematic material, and are combined and greatly expanded for this present major six-minute work for brass quintet, “Building a Hypercubeâ€. The first short duet, “Drawing a Hypercube Netâ€, is presented as the quintet’s introduction, quite faithfully to the original, shared through five parts with harmonic expansion. The material from the second duet is essentially unadulterated starting at measure 27, spanning through measure 70 (up to letter D). From there, the development of thematic material is extensive and interesting, morphing into Escher-types of additional themes and melodies, many of which overlap and intertwine in a fascinatingly complex manner. This unsettling compositional style is indicative of years of profound pondering to fathom the mysterious matter of the fourth spatial dimension. Musically the piece is motivically and thematically unified. All the parts share in the rhythmic complexity fitting for the ponderous topic. The form is roughly sonata form with an introduction and coda, though the recapitulation (Del Segno) occurs in its original key. The majority of the piece (about three minutes, almost exactly half) is the symbolically explorative development section, from D to O. A point of interest: in spite of the piece’s high harmonic rhythm, the introduction is diatonically modal (G Mixolydian). The exposition, after a brief building transition, shifts to the relative D Dorian mode. The lengthy development section shifts tonal centers throughout, visiting various major and minor keys. Beginning at letter O, modality returns for a smooth transition into the recapitulation. The piece ends with an exhilarating coda.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012132 Composed by Michael Staff. Contemporary. Score. 11 pages. Michael Staff #3587487. Published by Michael Staff (A0.1012132). Originally intended to be the first movement of a sonata (the chromatic argument being the second movement), the main thematic material for this work was composed entirely during sleep. Music 'written' during sleep was then penned in a notebook immediately after waking up each morning. Collecting six years-worth of these ideas formed the main thematic elements. After constructing the primary and subordinate themes, the exposition was treated as a parent function would be in mathematics. Using the concept of graph transformations, the original idea was then stretched, diminished, shifted, rotated, and reflected, resulting in unique musical transformations.
