From the IntroductionIt is reasonable to expect that a musician shall be at least an accurate and legible writer as well as a reader of the language of his Art. The immense increase in the amount of music published, and its cheapness, seem rather to have increased than decreased this necessity, for they have vastly multiplied activity in the Art. If they have not intensified the necessity for music-writing, they have increased the number of those by whom the necessity is felt.Intelligent knowledge of Notation is the more necessary inasmuch as music-writing is in only a comparatively few cases mere copying. Even when writing from a copy, some alteration is frequently necessary, as will be shown in the following pages, requiring independent knowledge of the subject on the part of the copyist. (See e.g., par. 28.) Yet many musicians, thoroughly competent as performers, cannot write a measure of music without bringing a smile to the lips of the initiated. Oι  ζωγραφιές έχουν σκοπό να εξάψουν τη φαντασία του παιδιού και να το εμπνεύσουν. Στην ενότητα «Ζωγραφική» τα ζώα και άλλα στοιχεία της ζωγραφιάς έχουν αφεθεί σκόπιμα ελλιπή, έτσι ώστε να τα χρωματίσουν τα παιδιά. β) Η δεύτερη σελίδα είναι αφιερωμένη στη μουσική: Η παρτιτούρα του κάθε τραγουδιού έχει επιμεληθεί με τέτοιον τρόπο ώστε να μπορείτε να το τραγουδήσετε και να το συνοδέψετε με διάφορα μουσικά όργανα. Επίσης έχουν επιλεχτεί τονικότητες με λίγες αλλοιώσεις (διέσεις και υφέσεις), ώστε να μπορείτε να παίξετε τις μελωδίες ευκολότερα. Τα σύμβολα των αρμονιών-συγχορδιών πάνω από τις αντίστοιχες μελωδίες,  σας δίνουν τη δυνατότητα να συνοδέψετε τη φωνή μόνο με ακόρντα, π.χ. με την κιθάρα ή με το πιάνο. Αν παίζετε πιάνο και δεν γνωρίζετε τα σύμβολα των ακόρντων-συγχορδιών, σκεφτείτε τα ως νότες συνοδείας για το αριστερό χέρι. Στο παραπάνω παράδειγμα μπορείτε, λοιπόν, να παίξετε με το δεξί χέρι τη μελωδία και με το αριστερό χέρι τη νότα «σολ» (G = σολ) στο πρώτο μέτρο και τη νότα «ντο» (C = ντο) στο δεύτερο μέτρο. Εναλλακτικά, το CD που περιλαμβάνεται στο βιβλίο σας δίνει τη δυνατότητα να ακούσετε τα τραγούδια κάθε στιγμή της ημέρας και οπουδήποτε.  γ)  Η τρίτη σελίδα περιέχει κείμενα: - με τους κανόνες των παιχνιδιών, - με προτάσεις για το ποια χρώματα μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν στις ζωγραφιές, - με θέματα για συζήτηση, γενικές πληροφορίες και ερωτήσεις, - με ιδέες για παιχνίδια, - με ιδέες για πειράματα σχετικά με το θέμα του τραγουδιού. Κάποιες από τις δραστηριότητες αυτές θα χρειαστεί να προσαρμοστούν στην ηλικία του παιδιού. Η γλώσσα, ο ρυθμός και ο τρόπος που θα χρησιμοποιηθούν, καθώς και ο χρόνος που θα διαθέσετε, εξα.

You, your student and your audience will love playing and hearing this waltz.Leopold Kupelweiser was the son of Johann Baptist Georg Kilian Kupelwieser (1760–1813), co-owner of a factory that produced tableware.[1] His talents were recognized at an early age by the sculptor Franz Anton von Zauner and by the time he was twelve, he was already attending the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.His brother was the theatrical director Joseph Kupelwieser, who wrote the libretto for Schubert's opera Fierrabras. With his brother, Joseph, he was a member of the Schubertianern (friends of Franz Schubert), a group that often got together for summers at the Schloss Atzenbrugg, west of Vienna. In 1826, Leopold married Maria Johanna Evangelista Augustina Stephania Theodora Lutz, an occasion which was marked by Schubert's composition, the Kupelwieser Waltz (never written down, but passed along by the family and later transcribed by Richard Strauss).
