In 1976 Raymond joined the Maltese Army Band (AFM) and in 1982 immigrated to Australia where he was offered a scholarship in N.S.W. University.  During this time at the University he studied to become a music teacher and afterwards further his studies with modern music composition and conducting courses. Early Morning is a quartet for four Bb Clarinets. The title predicts the serenity of a normal day, hence the nice and calm melodic piece.
