His native Eferding awarded him the Ehrenring in 1977, and the ministry of education the title of Oberstudienrat in 1988. His main works include the opera Asinus Rex, the musical The Roaring Twenties, three symphonies, a sinfonietta, cantatas, oratorios, masses and other choral works. His interests in chamber music particularly involve exploring the possibilities presented by different ensembles.
